00:00I really make a point to be here because I love the work that this organization is doing.
00:23Carson Daly is an integral part of this organization.
00:26He's one of my dear, dear friends, he's my colleague.
00:29He really opened up a few years ago on our show, and I remember being there on our set,
00:34and I was really surprised that he was so open about his own mental health struggles over the years,
00:41and it was so profound and meaningful, and I think it showed the way for a lot of people.
00:45Being here is important for me to say, I support you and I'm with you,
00:49and he's brought so much to this organization in particular, including tonight.
00:53He's brought, you know, some royals.
00:55The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, are going to be here,
00:59and I think that's because they've had great conversations with Carson in this space,
01:04and I think it says everything about that relationship and the integrity of this organization
01:10that they have brought their attendance here.
01:13They could be anywhere in the world, and they chose to be here, and it matters.
01:17Of course, so the song is written as a letter to my mom about the moment that I finally told her how much I was struggling.
01:26It was a very therapeutic thing for me to write, and I was petrified to put it out when I put it out
01:36in hopes to just encourage anybody else out there who's struggling to know that they're not alone.
01:42It sounds cheesy, but to encourage them to reach out.
01:45Reaching out is the hardest step, and it's also the first step.
01:48And so I really, really try to talk a lot about it. Just talk to people.
01:53We'll see you next time.
02:23Bye.
02:24Bye.
02:25Bye.
