00:00Let me share a number with you. 4,000. That's how many families the Social Media
00:07Victims Law Center is currently representing. Families whose children
00:12have been harmed or lost forever to social media. 4,000 cases at just one
00:19firm. And that number represents only those parents who have been able to link
00:24their child's circumstance to social media use. Our children, Archie and Lily, are
00:30just six and four years old. Can you believe it? Luckily, still too young for
00:36social media, but we know that day is coming. And like so many parents, we think
00:40constantly about how to embrace technology's benefits while safeguarding
00:45against its dangers. And that hopeful intention of separation is rapidly
00:50becoming impossible. But here's what gives us hope. These families are not
00:56facing this alone. Kids and parents are coming together, mobilizing in inspiring
01:01ways by creating the Balance Project, the smartphone-free childhood movement, the
01:08Luddite Club here in New York City, and many, many more. Knowledge is power and
01:15community is strength. Expanding the parents' movement and supporting them
01:18throughout is how real change happens. That's why we are so proud to announce
01:24tonight that the Parents Network is joining forces with parents together.
01:36This is a natural evolution to enable the community to continue to grow and have
01:40more impact alongside the rapid rise of technology.
01:43You've created the spaces for families to connect and to heal. And to all the parents
01:50who have been part of the Parents Network, we are accepting this award this evening for
01:55you, in honor of you, in honor of all the parents in this community. This expansion to
02:00Parents Together represents both our commitment as well as the acknowledgement that we need to
02:05reach more families to create greater and faster change. Together we can and we will build the movement
02:12that all families and all children deserve. We know that when parents come together, when
02:17communities unite, waves are made. We've seen it happen and we're watching it grow. And with
02:23your support, we'll continue building a safer digital world for all of our children. So on behalf of my
02:29husband and I, thank you so much for being here tonight. Thank you all of you for your support and thank you for
02:34for standing with us as we continue this vital work. Thank you.
