An earthquake of magnitude 7.5 struck offshore in the southern Philippines on Friday morning, the country's seismology agency said, with tsunami warnings issued in several countries and people in nearby coastal areas urged to move to higher ground. Eyewitness video showed people gathered on a road, toppled cabinets in an office, and a mast on building roof shaking. Reuters was able to verify the location from building characteristics and business signage that matched file images.
Date of the video was confirmed by official statements. Country's seismology agency said an earthquake of magnitude 7.6 struck offshore in the southern Philippines on Friday October 10.
