6.7 magnitude earthquake strikes off of Indonesia, US Geological Survey says

Authorities have urged the public to heed official advice and instructions and exercise caution, warning that aftershocks can last hours.

00:00A 6.7 magnitude earthquake shook part of Indonesia on Tuesday and was followed by strong aftershocks.
00:07The initial tremor caused strong shaking lasting more than a minute.
00:11No information on damage or casualties was immediately available.
00:15The quake was centered 46 kilometers southeast of Paloo, the capital of the central Sulawesi province,
00:22and according to the U.S. Geological Survey, it struck at a depth of about 10 kilometers.
00:28Indonesia is crossed by several seismic faults, and earthquakes and volcanic activity are common.
