00:00On behalf of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, I declare today, Deaf Leopard Day in Hollywood!
00:17And now, let's hear from the band.
00:19Fantastic. Thank you. Thank you, Steve.
00:22Thank you, everyone, and welcome.
00:27Thank you, Rick.
00:282,824 stars. Amazing.
00:33So, here we are.
00:35And are we in good company, or what?
00:37I mean, really, you think about all the stars that are here.
00:40I didn't want this to just be a long list of thanks,
00:43but pretty much, John and Bruce have covered all the ground that I could possibly have covered.
00:48So, it really just leaves me with the great pleasure of thanking as many people as we can
00:53that have helped us get where we are now.
00:56First of all, many thanks to John for clearing his diary and coming up to do this.
01:03We've known each other for almost 40 years, as he alluded to, 1986.
01:07And I can honestly say it has been a lifelong friendship.
01:11John is one of the few people in this business that I know that I can say anything I want to, and it will go no further.
01:17And he knows that he can trust us, which, let's be honest, is a very rare thing.
01:22So, from the bottom of our hearts, John, thank you.
01:25Bruce Reznikov and your incredible team.
01:32You have been so supportive of this band ever since we re-signed Universal that it really helped give us our mojo back.
01:40So, thanks for that, Team Bruce.
01:47Talking of mojos, we can't stand here without thanking the late great Howard Kaufman,
01:51who took over managing this band 20 years ago, rescuing us from what was potentially obscurity,
01:58and taking us all the way to headlining stadiums.
02:01So, thank you, Howard.
02:03Mike Kobayashi, who worked under Howard.
02:10Picking up the reins, and he continues to create amazing opportunities for this band to keep pushing forward.
02:22Dennis Arthur, who, along with Live Nation, has really helped push this band to where we all think that we truly belong.
02:30So, thank you, Dennis.
02:33And Rod McSween, who sadly can't be with us today, but he has been booking this band since 1979.
02:40So, thank you, Rod.
02:44So, what about the actual albums?
02:46Massive thanks, obviously, go out to Mutt Lang, who took the gamble on working with this unknown quantity back in 1981,
02:53taught us what making a record really meant, and helped us create songs that would hopefully last a lifetime.
03:00So, thank you, Mutt.
03:03Also, to Tom Allen, who produced our first album, the late Mike Shipley, Pete Woodruff,
03:08and very special thanks to our current producer and out front sound guru, Ronan McHugh, 27 years and counting.
03:17Thank you, Ronan.
03:19We have to, of course, mention our old management, Cliff Bernstein, Peter Mench, and all at Q Prime,
03:29for all their hard work and support from 1979 right up to 2005.
03:34So, everyone who has worked with this band on stage and off, our amazing road crews, for all your hard work and your dedication over the last 48 years, we thank you.
03:46On a personal note, I would like to thank Roger Love, my vocal coach, who has literally saved my career more than once over the years.
03:54Thank you, Roger.
03:57Special thanks go out to Malvin Mortimer, who helped run the ship for 25 years, and to our current mama bear, Jessica Squire.
04:06We love you, Jess.
04:07So, from all of us up here, including Pete Willis, and, of course, the late great Steve Clarke, we all say to each and every one of you, to our collective families,
04:22especially our parents, who helped us get where we are now, just simply to our incredible, loving fan base out there, two words, thank you.
04:42You're welcome.
04:44Anybody else?
04:46We are on a sacred street here, but it's also a real street in the city of Los Angeles.
04:50So, on behalf of the city of Los Angeles, and the city council member who represents Hollywood, Hugo Sotomartinez,
04:58the city is presenting you with a special commendation for today.
05:03Beautiful.
05:04Let's see.
05:05Right.
05:06There you go.
05:07We got it.
05:08Okay.
05:09Go this way.
05:10Turn to the side and look this way.
05:11Rotate left.
05:12Oh, wow.
05:13Oh, yeah, yeah.
05:14Come on, dude.
