00:00Hello there and welcome to your weekend weather forecast and what a difference a week can
00:05make. Last weekend we were looking at storm Amy which brought heavy rain and some very
00:09strong winds. This weekend it's the opposite and it's all thanks to high pressure. Sitting
00:15out to the west on Friday and eventually pushing its way eastwards, becoming centred across
00:19the UK as we head towards the weekend. So many are going to see dry, settled conditions
00:24but across the north at times on the northern flank of the high it will be a bit breezier
00:27here and often quite cloudy. But for many to start on Saturday it's going to be fairly
00:32chilly particularly where we see any clear skies and it's here where we could also see
00:36some mist and fog patches through the course of the morning. But this should lift and break
00:40quite quickly and for many it should be a dry start to the weekend. We could still see a
00:45fair amount of cloud particularly across the west. Southern counties could see quite a cloudy
00:49day but there will be some breaks in the cloud allowing some bright and sunny spells particularly
00:54across eastern areas but across the far north of Scotland remaining breezy here through much of
00:59the day. Thicker areas of cloud producing some drizzle at times and this could be quite
01:03persistent particularly across the northern isles. And for most temperatures are around about average.
01:08Highs reaching 17 possibly 18 degrees Celsius so fairly similar to what we've had during the end of
01:14the week but particularly across eastern areas of Scotland temperatures above average here. So it is
01:19going to be feeling warm and pleasant in the autumnal sunshine. Now overnight Saturday through into
01:25Sunday high pressure is sticking with us but once again notice Scotland still on the northern flank of
01:30that high so still plenty of moisture and cloud pushing through into these areas. But elsewhere will
01:35be fairly similar conditions to what we saw during the day. A mix of clouds and clearer skies. So once again
01:41that will lead to some fairly chilly conditions heading into Sunday morning. Also some patchy mist and fog. The
01:46difference from Saturday to Sunday though is that we could see a bit more fog during the course of
01:51Sunday morning. Some areas are being picked out across our ensemble model Northern Ireland for example.
01:57Parts of Wales, Shropshire, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Also central and south eastern parts of England. So
02:03there could be some thicker areas of fog during the early hours of Sunday. So if you're up early do take care. This
02:11could cause some travel disruption but most of us will probably treat ourselves to align on Sunday. And the
02:16fog will lift and break quite quickly through the course of the morning. And otherwise Sunday looks
02:21fairly similar to Saturday. Mostly dry light winds and plenty of bright and sunny spells.
02:27Still that cloud lingering though across northern areas of Scotland still producing some drizzle at
02:32times. And for some areas as we head later into the afternoon we could just start to pick up some
02:36cloud drifting in from the North Sea. So starting to turn into grey skies here. Otherwise similar temperatures
02:42to what we'll see on Saturday. Highs reaching 17, possibly 18 degrees Celsius where we see the
02:47sunshine stick around. Then into next week we're still largely dominated by high pressure. That'll
02:54stop any weather fronts moving in from the west. So once again dry, settled, still fairly chilly
02:59overnight with the risk of some mist and fog during the early hours of the morning. But as we head towards
03:04the middle part of the week and that high pressure continues to shift its way eastwards, we might see a
03:08slight change in wind directions. That means more cloud, potentially more sunshine as we head through
