00:00Michael, how hungry are you for winning a race before the season ends?

00:04Yeah, obviously it's been a roller coaster of a season. So yeah, with the shape I have now,

00:09it'll be nice to finish off the season with a win. And I think today's a good opportunity.

00:13Does the shape you have now enable you to pass that climb ahead?

00:18Yeah, I mean, it's 6k. It's quite steep, but I'll try my best. I think we have a strong team

00:23to support me. We have also been, if it's too hard for me, so we have some good options.

00:28Do you feel that there's still a lot of motivation in the peloton when you look at the start list?

00:32Yeah, I think so. Everyone says, oh yeah, it's late in the season, everyone is tired, blah, blah, blah.

00:36But in the end, I think everyone is here to win and everyone has strong legs. So it's going to be

00:41a really hard race.

00:44After this fourth place at the European Championship, how is your motivation for the final races?

00:50Yeah, the motivation is really high. The real appointment will be in Lombardia,

00:56but also today we try to take the opportunity. We have a strong team and we will see what will happen

01:05before the last climb. Does it look like a good climb for you?

01:09Yes, really, really, really good for me because the start is really, really hard,

01:14really steep, so for sure I'm in good shape. So we will try to attack in this part of the climb.

01:24Del Toro, we know that is really strong, but for sure we will try to keep him and maybe attack.

01:30Is it all about Del Toro or there are many favourites?

01:33I think that is the best rider here. For sure, before the last climb, on the flat part,

01:42we want to try to let go Ulysse and Betiol to try to anticipate the climb and we will see what will happen.

01:53What is it like to be the defending champion?

01:55It feels really nice. It just reminds me of the beautiful win I had last year and it gives me extra

02:02confidence that it can happen again. Compared to last year, how is your form?

02:06It's good. I was sick a week ago, so in Emilia I just played a support role and then took a few days

02:13of rest between. The last few days I've been feeling back to normal, so I'm hoping to be back in good shape
