'I ain't dead yet!': Dolly Parton assures fans rumours of her ill-health have been over blown

The 79-year-old country singer declared she 'ain't dead yet' in a video posted to Youtube, after her sister caused alarm with a request for prayers for the music icon's health.

00:30I want to say something.

00:32Well, today's October the 8th and obviously I'm here doing some commercials for the Grand Ole Opry,

00:38which is why I'm dressed kind of like a country western girl.

00:42But before I got started, I wanted to say, I know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am.

00:50Do I look sick to you?

00:51I'm working hard here.

00:54Anyway, I wanted to put everybody's mind at ease, those of you that seem to be real concerned,

00:59which I appreciate, and I appreciate your prayers because I'm a person of faith.

01:04I can always use the prayers for anything and everything.

01:08But I want you to know that I'm okay.

01:11I've got some problems, as I mentioned.

01:14Back when my husband Carl was very sick, that was for a long time.

01:18And then when he passed, I didn't take care of myself.

01:21So I let a lot of things go that I should have been taken care of.

01:25So anyway, when I got around to it, the doctor said, we need to take care of this.

01:30We need to take care of that.

01:31Nothing major.

01:32But I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home, closer to Vanderbilt, you know,

01:39where I'm kind of having a few treatments here and there.

01:42But I wanted you to know that I'm not dying.

01:46Did you see that AI picture of Reba and me?

01:50Oh, Lordy.

01:51I mean, they had Reba at my deathbed.

01:54And we both looked like we need to be buried.

01:58But I thought, oh, my Lord.

02:02But if I was really dying, I don't think Reba would be the one at my deathbed.

02:08She might come visit me earlier.

02:10But anyway, there's just a lot of rumors flying around.

02:15But I figured if you heard it from me, you'd know that I was okay.

02:19So anyhow, that's what I wanted to say.

02:22And I'm not ready to die yet.

02:25I don't think God is through with me.

02:26And I ain't done working.

02:28So I love you for caring.

02:31And keep praying for me.
