00:00Man was this fun over the weekend it's been a fun series in the stands so

00:05Freddie Freeman homered on Friday Philly fan had it in his glove dropped it and

00:10then he got the ball thrown to him he dropped it again and his dad his dad's

00:14beside himself the young man got the ball and then he flipped it to a younger

00:18Braves fan really such a great gesture such a sweet moment so what happens

00:22tonight Freddie Freeman is told of what went down signed a ball for that young

00:27man the ball had also been signed by Bryce Harper so that young man with one

00:32act of generosity had it paid back to him and then some and Braves go with the

00:37left-hander Drew Smiley tonight Drew Smiley's throwing a bit harder he's got a

00:41fastball you see it up to 95 today both sides of the plate he's got a cutter into

00:45the righties and away from the lefties he's got a change-up and his signature

00:49pitch is the curveball and you'll see a bucket of them tonight he's facing

00:53McCutcheon Hoskins and Harper this is a high pop in the infield Austin Riley

00:59giving way to Dansby Swanson and there's one gone and Maddie with both left-handed

01:04pitchers today there's a lot of right-handed hitters here's Reese Hoskins

01:07offering aggressively a notorious count worker is a one-pitch casualty in his

01:13first try tonight for Drew Smiley by the way as Harper digs in with two gone he's

01:18looking for his first win since he wore a Phillies uniform back in 2019 0-2 on the

01:24way small on and miss strikes out Harper with a curveball and Smiley dices right

01:30through the Phillies in the top of the first inning Ronald Acuna Jr. leads

01:34things off against the veteran Southpaw Matt Moore 31 years old pitching for his

01:39fifth major league team in this is 10th big league campaign spent last year in

01:45Japan he's underway tonight on the road a first pitch swing by Acuna

01:51hustling all the way that's a routine ground ball the short that Acuna somehow

01:56beats out I mean that's hard to believe some players run hard some run fast this

02:00is both right here that's even more impressive than the home run because it

02:03gets everybody going in the right direction

02:05and the first pitch to Ozzie Albies is sent out to right field and gone

02:11just his second plate appearance of the year from the right side and it's taken two

02:17pitches to put the Braves on top two nothing perfect example how you want to

02:21start the game two pitches grump ball small ball long ball star no steps in

02:28Travis who sit safely in each of the first two games of the series and Darno serves that

02:33into the opposite field that'll roll all the way to the wall a little bit

02:39everything in this first inning against Matt Moore two out double puts a runner in

02:43scoring position Dansby Swanson also off to a slower start by his own standards the

02:49next one two to Swanson lined up the middle of base hit

02:55win throwing to the plate it's not in time as Darno scores it's three nothing

03:01Atlanta go to the second JT Real Muto leads off against Drew Smiley twenty minutes for three

03:07runs of support as Real Muto sends one whizzing past Riley on into left field JT on his way

03:13in the second with a leadoff double got a big zone like Texas there he goes JT runs

03:19throw down from Darno not in time and I like this play here by Real Muto I mean

03:25aggressive leadoff double they're down 3-0 but they still want to play aggressive

03:29so now Gene Segura digging in is the sixth batter that Smiley has faced Segura sends a fly ball

03:35out to center field that one's carrying for Pache who makes the catch at the wall

03:39more than enough to tag and score Real Muto and the Phillies get one of them back immediately here in the second

03:45really cut the lead three to one three one to McCutcheon a shot to third Riley

03:51gobbles it up and gets it there in plenty of time what a play

03:55life of Riley tonight dirty and effective three to one

04:00in the fourth Drew Smiley winds up in the 3-2 pitcher Hoskins there's a long drive to

04:05left by Hoskins and he has tied it or rather pulled it to within a one-run game

04:12solo shot for Reese Hoskins is his second of the year three to two Atlanta

04:18this is a fastball way that he yanks to left center field

04:22reaches out there with the barrel and brings it nice home run right there

04:25first and second now for Didi Gregorius trying to convert on the modest eight game hitting streak

04:30that he's opened the season with one two to right field and well hit and on cue

04:36it's good Sir Didi pulls another and it was a curveball that did not curve it never got there

04:43he wanted a low way it came in the happy zone and oh my Sir Didi with a three run homer

04:50to a one-run game with a fly ball off the bat of Ronald Acuna Jr. who has been hot tonight and all weekend long

04:57come back in there and Acuna slugs it out to right field should be more than enough to plate Pache

05:06and it is a one-run game bottom half of ending number five in a one-run game

05:12middle of the order in Freeman we're here in the fifth Freddie making a bid to score

05:17and that one gets out of here he's homered in three straight the reigning MVP is heating up

05:26five hits for Freddie Freeman this year four of them have been homers

05:30so smiley removed for the veteran right-hander Nate Jones making his fourth appearance as a Brave

05:35had a very good spring spent his entire career with the White Sox until becoming a little more well-traveled

05:41the last season here's Bryce Harper to lead it off against Jones in the sixth

05:45ball and a strike to count to Harper who has struck out twice tonight that's well hit into the opposite field

05:50and Bryce got him third homer in the last inning plus for the Phillies and the visitors go back out on top

06:00that ball came in mid 90s and I got out 112 miles an hour laser a line drive over the shortstop's head for a home run

06:08hard-throwing ex-San Francisco giant gets ahead of Ronald Acuna Jr.

06:13First this swing by Albies and a drive rather by Acuna and a drive to center that's going to go

06:20Ronald Acuna Jr. has done it again well he was ready for the velo that time

06:25I mean we're watching something so special here 108 miles an hour I did not like the pitch

06:31it was a little cutter at 90 miles an hour just sped up the bat of Acuna he knew it when he hit it

06:37the twist to turn a little merengue salsa boom with a shot out to right center field well hit

06:47and it's off the base of the wall Alec Boehm into second representing the go ahead run with nobody out in the night

06:56there's Gene Segura now swinging away it's going to work as a bunt however that'll move the runner into third base

07:03with less than two out and the Phillies have a chance to grab the lead with a well-placed fly ball

07:12D.D. pops that one into the opposite field

07:16Osuna's got it.

07:17Boehm's going to try it.

07:19Here he comes and he's saving the play.

07:22Wow.

07:24On a shallow fly ball into left field they roll the dice with Osuna's arm

07:30and Boehm is able to score on a bang bang play at the plate.

07:40Lined up the middle and gathered in by Gregorius and the Phillies hang on for a series salvaging victory

07:49in game three with the Braves.

07:51Did not come without some controversy.
