00:00Hey, everyone, and welcome to the spotlight. You guys, I'm happy to be here. It's my first
00:17stream and we're going to be talking about the birth of Jesus Christ. Okay. So yeah,
00:26first, we're going to start with this prayer card. Okay. Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty
00:34power. Ephesians 6 and 10. All right. That's beautiful. Be strong in the Lord. No matter
00:42if you feel weak, if you feel sad, whatever's going on in your life,
00:51he can take on that burden. Hallelujah. God is good. Okay. If you have any burdens or anything
01:01going on in your life, you feel sad today, or you need a prayer, know that God will take on your
01:10burden. You know, whenever I need something from God, he's there for me. I can count on him. When
01:20I feel weak or tired and scared or nervous, he gives me that strength. He gives me that security.
01:32Yeah. And this is a perfect prayer card to start with. This is my first stream. So this is kind of
01:39like, you know, I was kind of like, I don't know, Lord. And he was like, get in there because someone
01:44needs to hear from the Lord today. Someone needs to know how good he is. And that's why I'm here
01:51to share with you, remind you. And we encourage each other that he is there and you're not walking
02:01alone. You're not going through these struggles alone or whatever it is. Or you're just happy in
02:09the Lord because we're not all struggling. Those of us who love the Lord and we're in the hedge of
02:14protection, we're not going through a lot of problems because God's taking care of us. You're
02:20having a relationship with the Lord. You're talking to the Lord daily. So he's being that guide for you.
02:26He is making sure that you keep your eyes on him and that you're being obedient. So you're going to
02:34keep your eyes on him because he's going to steer you in the right direction, right? Okay. So yeah,
02:40be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. That's everything that you don't have. He has for you.
02:46He will give it to you. He will give you strength, wisdom. He will give you power, meaning that not over
02:56others, but in yourself, but in yourself, because that's where a lot of the struggle is. A lot of
03:03the struggle is within you, the battles. Um, he's so loving and so kind that where you are weak, he is
03:13strong, you know, and what you don't know, he'll tell you in the moment. The Holy Spirit gives, guides me
03:24and it's the same Holy Spirit that guides you because you're saved, sanctified and filled with
03:28the Holy Ghost. And he guides my footsteps when I wake up in the morning till I go to sleep at night.
03:37Right? So he's doing that for you too. If you're giving your life to the Lord, to Jesus, you believe
03:44in your heart and confess with your mouth that he is Lord, you too will be saved. Okay. So God told me
03:51to go to Matthew. That's where we're going to start at Matthew 1 and 18, the birth of Jesus
03:58Christ. And we're just going to read into the Holy Spirit. Tell me to stop. Um, I know we're
04:04live. So we're just going to just go where God tells me to go. Okay. So you can read along
04:13or just listen and let's see where we go. So we're on one in 18, the birth of Jesus Christ.
04:22This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. His mother, Mary was pledged to be married
04:27to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be the child, be with child
04:36through the Holy Spirit. So through the Holy Spirit, God put Jesus in her womb to be born
04:44for us so we could be saved because Joseph, her husband was a righteous man and did not
04:50want to expose her to public disgrace. He had in mind to divorce her quietly. Okay. But
04:57after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,
05:03Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived
05:10in her is from the Holy Spirit. So though it may not appear on the outside to be what us
05:19as people believe should be right, then God can turn something that looks wrong and make it right.
05:30Meaning that she didn't do anything wrong, but sometimes to the outward world, it looks
05:38wrong, but they don't know what's really going on inside. Like you may see someone and you're
05:43like, you know what? That person is on the wrong path, but God's going to step in and save
05:47their life. That's why we have to, God sees our heart. He knows where he's taking us. So
05:54no matter what's going on in your life, even your friend's life or someone, you know that God's
05:59going to step in when God wants to and touch their life. We don't know exactly God's plan.
06:05Right? So we have to love. We have to come from a place of love always because we don't
06:11know God's plan for that person. We've all been in sin and through God, through Jesus,
06:17everything is made good. God makes it good in the way he wants it to be because we don't
06:25know his whole plan. Right? Okay. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord
06:32appeared with witness again to him in a dream and said, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid
06:38to take Mary home as your wife, because that is conceived because what is conceived in her
06:45is from the Holy spirit. She will give birth to a son and you are to give him the name of
06:51Jesus, the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. Yes. All this took place
07:00to fulfill what the Lord has said through the, through the prophet, the virgin will be with child
07:07and I will give birth to a son and they will call him Emmanuel, which means God with us. Thank you,
07:15Lord. When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his
07:25wife, but he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son and he gave him the name Jesus.
07:34Beautiful, beautiful. Okay. So let's keep going. Now this second chapter is called the visit of the
07:43Maggai. Okay. So I hope I said that, pronounced that right. After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea,
07:53during the time of King Herod Maggai from the East came to Jerusalem and asked, where is the one who has
08:04been born King of the Jews? We saw his star in the East and have come to worship him. When King Herod
08:13heard this, he was stirred in all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the people's chief
08:22priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born in Bethlehem in Judea.
08:31They replied, for this is what the prophet has written. But you Bethlehem in the land of Judah
08:39are by no means least among the rulers of Judah for out of you will come a ruler who will be the
08:48shepherd of my people, Israel. Then Herod called to Maggai secretly and found out from them the exact
08:57time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, go and make a careful search for the child.
09:05As soon as you find him, as soon as you find him, report to me so that I too may go and worship him.
09:13And they had heard the king. They went on their way and the star they had seen in the East went ahead of
09:22them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.
09:33On coming to the house, they saw the child was his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.
09:43Then they opened their treasures and presented him with the gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.
09:51And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.
10:01We're going to keep going.
10:04The escape to Egypt is what this one's what it's called.
10:08Okay.
10:08When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.
10:14Get up.
10:15He said, take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt.
10:19Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.
10:26So see how God is continuing to give instruction.
10:30And that's what you got to do.
10:34Be obedient, right?
10:36No matter what, get up and do what I tell you because it's a good thing.
10:42So listen to the Holy Spirit guide you no matter what it may look like.
10:47You know it's God because it's specifically for you, the instruction.
10:52It's nothing bad.
10:53It's not a sin.
10:55It's a good thing.
10:57And it's about your assignment.
11:01Your assignment comes directly from the Holy Spirit.
11:04My assignment is to sit here and talk to you directly from the Holy Spirit.
11:08So whatever your assignment is, because your relationship with the Lord,
11:13he's going to tell you and continue to instruct you all the way,
11:16all the way down the path of where you're going.
11:20Okay.
11:20So he got up and they left, right?
11:28Okay.
11:30So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt,
11:35where he stayed until the death of Herod.
11:39And so was fulfilled what the Lord has said through the prophet out of Egypt,
11:45I call my son.
11:46You know it's the Lord because everything he tells you comes to pass.
11:52If you're talking to the Lord every day, you believe his voice,
11:57you have a relationship with him, then he will show up for you.
12:01He will show up.
12:02He will show you, I am God.
12:05I am with you.
12:06There's nothing to fear.
12:07Everything he says is going to come to pass.
12:14He'll start sharing more and more with you because he loves you.
12:17He won't leave you hanging.
12:19He won't leave you out there.
12:21Everything he shows you is going to happen.
12:25That's how you know it's him.
12:26If you doubt, you say, Lord, is this you?
12:29And you wait.
12:30He'll say yes or he'll say no because it's your voice.
12:35It's God's voice.
12:36And then there's Satan who tries to tempt you out of the hedge of protection,
12:41which is your relationship with the Lord.
12:45Okay.
12:48Okay.
12:48A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping in great mourning,
12:54Rachel weeping for her children and refusing.
13:02Hold on.
13:02Let's go back a little bit.
13:04So he got up to the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt,
13:10where he stayed until the death of Herod.
13:12And so was fulfilled what the Lord has said through the prophet.
13:17Out of Egypt, I call my son.
13:19When Hera realized that he had been outwitted by Magi,
13:24he was furious and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem
13:30and his vicinity who were two years old and under in accordance with the time
13:39he had learned from the Magi.
13:41Then what was said through the prophet, Jeremiah was fulfilled.
13:46A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping in great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children
13:53and refusing to be comforted because they are no more.
13:57So even though others may have plans for you, which is Satan.
14:03Okay.
14:04They're not going to come into fruition because they actually were being obedient
14:09and God protected them on their way.
14:10So when you're being obedient, then you're in the hedge of protection.
14:14When you doubt and you're afraid, the things that are not of the Lord, fear and doubt.
14:23Oh, should I do this?
14:25Hesitation.
14:26When you have a hesitation and fear and doubt, it means you don't trust the Lord.
14:30So then you doubt him, which he does not like.
14:35He does not like that.
14:37So when you do what he says and he knows you, he knows you, he knows how to talk to you.
14:45But when you doubt him, this is how much you love him, right?
14:50When you don't trust his voice, that's all you can give him.
14:56You can only give him obedience because there's nothing else you can give him but your love.
15:00So when you start to doubt, then it's like you don't trust him.
15:04You're afraid that he isn't in control.
15:09You have to know that he is.
15:12It doesn't matter.
15:12Nothing can come against the Lord.
15:14Nothing.
15:15Okay.
15:15So we're going to move on to the return to Nazareth.
15:22After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said,
15:29get up and take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel for those who were
15:34trying to take the child's life are dead.
15:38So you see how God's giving them steps right here.
15:45Okay, so this is the Holy Spirit's revealing to me right now.
15:49Okay, so you see how God gave another step.
15:51So God can give you steps.
15:52Do this.
15:53Do this.
15:54Go here.
15:54Go there.
15:55He only moves you in steps.
15:59Why?
16:00Because it shows obedience, right?
16:01And he's in order.
16:02He does things in order.
16:04If something is confusing or you don't give, you don't understand, don't move.
16:09Don't do anything without God, okay?
16:14Saying yes or confirming it.
16:16Ask twice.
16:18Ask him twice to make sure that it's him giving you the instruction.
16:23And then that means everything will be fine.
16:25If he's telling you to do it, not your own mind and you're not being deceived by Satan.
16:32Okay?
16:33Okay, so always ask twice to make sure, okay?
16:38Because you don't want to be outside of the hedge of protection.
16:42So now he's giving him another step.
16:46And that's how he knows the Lord.
16:48Okay, so he got up and took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.
16:53But when he heard the Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go there.
17:04Okay?
17:05Having been warned in his dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth.
17:15So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets.
17:21He will be called a Nazarene.
17:25Okay?
17:33All right.
17:34Let's keep going.
17:36John the Baptist prepares the way.
17:38In those days, John the Baptist came preaching in the desert of Judea and saying, repent for the kingdom of heaven is near.
17:46This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah.
17:53Okay?
17:54A voice of one calling in the desert, prepare the way for the Lord.
18:00Make straight paths for him.
18:02Okay?
18:02John's clothes were made of camel's hair and he had a leather belt around his waist.
18:08His food was locusts and wild honey.
18:12People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan, confessing their sins.
18:21They were baptized by him in the Jordan River.
18:25But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing,
18:32he said to them,
18:33you brood vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath, produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
18:44And do not think you can say to yourselves, we have Abraham as our father.
18:51I tell you that out of these stones, God can raise up children for Abraham.
18:58The ax is already at the root of the trees.
19:03And every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
19:09I baptize you with water for repentance.
19:13But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry.
19:22He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
19:27His winnowing fork is in his hand and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
19:44Hallelujah.
19:46Yes.
19:48Okay.
19:49The baptism of Jesus.
19:51Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan and baptized to the Jordan to be baptized by John.
19:59But John tried to deter him saying, I need to be baptized by you.
20:06And do you come to me?
20:11Jesus replied, let it be so now.
20:15It is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.
20:19Isn't Jesus good?
20:21He is so humble and so sweet and so kind.
20:25Then John consented.
20:28As John, as soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water.
20:34At that moment, heaven was open and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and like lighting on him.
20:44And the voice from heaven said, this is my son, whom I love with him.
20:50I am well pleased.
20:53What an honor.
20:53Isn't that wonderful?
20:56That is so wonderful.
20:58The temptation of Jesus.
21:00Then Jesus was led by the spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
21:09So this is showing you that we're being tempted every day.
21:12If Jesus is going to be tempted, so are you.
21:15So you have to rebuke him every day.
21:18You should be rebuking the devil as many times as he tempts you until you die.
21:23Because he's going to tempt you when you are vulnerable, sad or angry.
21:30It's like an open door.
21:33Your thoughts, you have to rebuke them because you're born into sin.
21:39Okay.
21:39So you're going to have to keep rebuking him daily.
21:43Oh, Lord, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.
21:46I rebuke that thought.
21:48I rebuke, you know, my own things that I'm working on.
21:54Right.
21:55And you keep doing that so that you don't have to worry about that.
22:01You don't have to worry about the temptation of the devil.
22:04And you can continue to keep your eyes on God.
22:06Okay.
22:09Yeah.
22:12So then Jesus was led to the spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
22:16After fasting 40 days and 40 nights, he was hungry.
22:21The tempter came to him and said, if you are the son of God, tell these stones to become bread.
22:31Jesus answered, it is written.
22:32Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
22:38Now, did you know that that is literal?
22:43Jesus fasting for 40 days and 40 nights is showing you that God is for real.
22:51Right.
22:52Literally, you literally live on God.
22:57Just like Moses.
22:59He went up the mountain for 30 days.
23:05You think he was cooking up there?
23:06No, he was not cooking up there.
23:08He was in the Lord where we come from.
23:11God sustains you.
23:14God's sustaining me.
23:16So I know he's going to sustain you.
23:19If I'm being obedient in my assignment and he tells me to get up and do something, get up and read the word.
23:26Yes, Lord.
23:27That means I don't have to worry about milk in my refrigerator.
23:30I don't have to worry about my bills.
23:32I don't have to worry about a relationship because God's taking care of me.
23:37That's why you want to be in the hedge because he gives you your assignment.
23:42It brings you happiness and joy and you're happy, but you're actually working for the body of Christ.
23:51To get us all saved.
23:56Whatever that thing is, you only know what it is you're supposed to be doing for the body of Christ.
24:03Once you're doing that thing, it brings you joy.
24:08You're actually sharing God with everyone else.
24:12At the same time, God's going to fulfill your desire as well.
24:17He gave you a desire for a reason.
24:20Your desire, he put there and he's going to give it to you.
24:24All you have to do is believe.
24:26Be obedient to your assignment.
24:28Love God from your heart.
24:30Believe and he'll show up for you.
24:33Jesus answered, it is written, man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
24:44Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
24:52If you are the son of God, he said, throw yourself down for it is written, he will command his angels concerning you and they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against the stone.
25:12Jesus answered him, it is also written, do not put the Lord, your God to the test.
25:20So while you're being obedient, don't assume that God owes you anything.
25:30His love is enough that what he gives us is more than enough.
25:36He's going to take care of us, but you have to be obedient.
25:39Don't test him.
25:40Don't try him.
25:42Ask.
25:43Yes.
25:43But don't say if you are, because you know, he is God is.
25:50He knows how far along you are in your relationship with him.
25:53So you can't test him.
25:56You know, people do test God in the beginning of the relationship.
26:00But if you know him and you already have a relationship with him, you wouldn't do that.
26:05So that's then, you know.
26:09Okay.
26:11So just like any other relationship.
26:15You wouldn't try the person.
26:16You wouldn't do something because you've already known them for a long time.
26:19So it's like, why would you do that?
26:20Like, you know, I'm your friend.
26:21I'm there for you.
26:22You can count on me.
26:23So it's the same with the Lord, of course.
26:26Right.
26:28That's where we get it from.
26:29How do we know something doesn't feel right comes from the Lord?
26:33This doesn't feel right for a reason.
26:35Believe it.
26:36Believe how you feel about something.
26:39Like, he gave it to us for a reason.
26:41He's telling us what's right and what's wrong.
26:43That's built in us.
26:44Something's wrong with this.
26:46Yes, it's the Holy Spirit telling you something.
26:48This is not right.
26:50Right.
26:51So.
26:53Okay.
26:54Again, the devil took him to the very high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
27:02All this I will give you, he said.
27:05If you will bow down and worship me.
27:08Jesus said to him, away from me, Satan, for this is written, worship the Lord, your God and serve him only.
27:16So the temptations of the world, fame, money, not your desire, your desire, God put there.
27:27But it's something that doesn't worship God.
27:31That's from Satan.
27:34Okay.
27:34If it doesn't worship God and it's not something that God put in your desire, meaning that it's something for validation from the world.
27:44That's that's from Satan.
27:47That's how you know, because he's offering whatever this is that he's offering, which is the world, fame, fortune.
27:54And it's nothing wrong with having money, but it's something wrong when the devil's offering it to you.
28:04Okay.
28:04Now, being blessed with something from the Lord, it's just, it's very good.
28:09It's very sweet.
28:11Right.
28:12It's not going to hurt anyone.
28:14It's not a sin.
28:15But when it's offered to you this way, it's something that takes your eyes off God, then it's from Satan.
28:24Okay.
28:26And you have to rebuke him just like Jesus.
28:30I rebuke you say the name of Jesus.
28:34You know, it's not from the Lord and you keep doing it.
28:38And if you're around people do it in your mind.
28:40Right.
28:41Then the devil left him and angels came and attended him.
28:45Okay.
28:47So Jesus begins to preach.
28:49Okay.
28:50So we're going to continue that.
28:53Jesus begins to preach.
28:55We're going to do that one next time.
28:57I think.
28:59We're going to stop.
29:00Holy Spirit said so.
