00:00Now, Israel's illegal interception of activists in international waters has triggered outrage and protests across the globe.
00:08But more than that, this is about Gaza.
00:10Two years into the war, there's still no let up in the destruction and humanitarian catastrophe that has unfolded.
00:17Hilal Azmi joins us from Eminonu Square in Istanbul, where hundreds have gathered in protests.
00:24Now, Hilal, we're seeing large crowds behind you. What are the protesters demanding today?
00:30Okay, Hafiz, I'm here at Eminonu Square in Istanbul.
00:35Hundreds of people have gathered this morning from all walks of life, showing their support and solidarity with the Palestinian people.
00:43Right behind me, the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is leading the gathering, together with several activist from the Global Sumut Fortilia.
00:52They shared what really happened at sea and urged the world not to stay silent.
01:01I managed to meet two of the activists who joined the flotilia.
01:04One of them is Mary Ann, a former U.S. diplomat who spoke with strong emotion, urging everyone to stand firm in the call for justice and humanity.
01:16To the people of the world, and particularly Malaysia, which actually has a really solid, good Palestine solidarity group.
01:25And we've had Malaysians that have been on the Global Sumut.
01:30We have them on the Conscience.
01:31So, to say, keep putting pressure on your governments that we will win.
01:37We will force Israel to stop their brutality toward the Palestinians.
01:42We will win.
01:43Indeed.
01:44Well, we encourage all nations to be supporters, so it's excellent that Malaysia is, and we thank the government for their support.
01:53And I also met Sumera, the Fleet Coordinator for the Global Sumut Fortilia.
01:59She told me how amazed she was by the spirit of Malaysians and the strong support shown by our government.
02:06Malaysia is amazing.
02:09I have to underline this.
02:12Even that they are so standing up to not have a representative as embassy in Israel.
02:21It's amazing to see this, that they are having...
02:24I didn't know this, that you have in your passport that it's available in every country except Israel.
02:30It's so amazing to have this kind of point.
02:33And when I'm seeing the support of Malaysia and the Malaysian government, I wish that every government would do the same.
02:43Because if we could build this kind of team spirit, Israel is nothing.
02:49I said that they are covered.
02:50We just have to build this kind of team spirit.
02:53If every government would really show this solidarity like Malaysia, MashaAllah, for all the world.
03:01The atmosphere here is powerful.
03:05You can feel the determination and hope for free Palestine.
03:10From Aminonu Square, Istanbul, this is Hilal Azmi with Riza Rahim reporting for Awani International.
