Stacey and Joe Season 2 Episode 5
Transcript
00:00Yeah, because you'd go, Joe, there's a bit of poo on the floor, I'll cover the wet ones.
00:30Things have been really sad recently with Teddy, it's been really difficult.
00:52He's obviously still paralysed in his back legs, the whole spine, all of the discs are quite weak
00:58and then one just burst, and that's what's causing the paralysis.
01:03But he's been at the vets for a week now and he's out of the critical pathway,
01:09so the vet has said he's well enough to come home.
01:13OK, right, so what we take him...
01:15I'm just going to take the carpet.
01:19Is there a peanut? He'll be home soon.
01:23Peanut really misses Teddy.
01:25Peanut is such a pack dog and we know he struggles when he's on his own.
01:31The fact that he hasn't seen him for a few days, we can definitely tell he's a little bit sad, isn't he?
01:35Yeah, so sad.
01:37Oh, Peanut, this is so exciting.
01:41I'm going to get your bro back.
01:42I'm going to get your brother back.
01:44It's going to be a huge life-changing experience for you bringing Teddy home.
01:49I'm going to get one of us.
02:09Look at that.
02:10Teddy!
02:12There he is.
02:14Hello.
02:15We've missed you so much.
02:22Hi, Steph.
02:23Sorry, I didn't want to take care of you.
02:25So where we're at at the moment is that unfortunately he still hasn't regained the feeling in his toes.
02:31OK?
02:31So we're not out of the woods yet with regards to the irreversible spinal cord injury that we discussed.
02:37So it'll be important to be monitoring him at home for any problems with his front legs at all
02:41and then just let us know.
02:43OK, so the main things for you to be managing at home will be his bladder.
02:48So at the moment we've been expressing his bladder, so emptying it ourselves,
02:52and that's something we can show you how to do, and physiotherapy.
02:56OK.
02:57If we're at the four-week point and he's still not regained the feeling in his toes,
03:01really it'll be a case of either discussing how do we manage a long-term paralysed dog, you know,
03:06or I think if things are not manageable, we're not sure he's going to lead a good quality of life.
03:13And unfortunately we may end up having a discussion about how far we carry on for.
03:18OK.
03:27Hello.
03:28It's 10 minutes.
03:29Just left the vet now.
03:31The vet's...
03:32Yeah, he's really happy in himself.
03:35He's on a lot of medications, so I've just got to remember giving him his medication.
03:38He has to be on cage rest for at least the next four weeks.
03:43And then I have to express his bladder four times a day.
03:49But it's harder than I thought it was going to be.
03:53What time will you be home?
03:55I'll be home in an hour.
03:57What time will you be home?
03:59I think pretty much the same as you.
04:01What time will you be home?
04:31We have to experience sort of down times and sad times and happy times.
04:35And if we don't let them experience that, when they get older, they won't know how to handle it.
04:39So it's that fine line of, you know, letting them manage their emotions a little bit by themselves so they can work it out.
04:45Come and sit on the chair.
04:46Sit on the chair.
04:47Sit on the chair.
04:47Sit on the chair.
04:49Hello.
04:50Hey.
04:51Hey, Ted live.
04:53I'll let him say hello.
04:55Softly, softly, softly, okay?
04:58Oh, he's still dragging his leg.
05:00Yeah, he's still got really slurred legs.
05:03He did.
05:04He did.
05:05He's so happy, though.
05:06Yeah, he's so happy to be home.
05:09Mummy, should I fill up his phone?
05:12Oh, good boy.
05:13Get him some water.
05:15There you go.
05:16Yeah.
05:17I'll take this off.
05:18Mum, he doesn't need our medicine.
05:22He just needs dog medicine.
05:24That's right.
05:25Yeah, got all his dog medicine.
05:27The little ones were asking loads of questions, but ultimately, I don't think they really cared that he was in a cage and he was disabled.
05:34They were just happy that he was home.
05:37It's nice to have him home, isn't it?
05:39Yeah.
05:40Come on.
05:43All right, I'm going to let Peanut come and say hello, okay, darling?
05:48Peanut, come on, darling.
05:49I know, I know, we know, we know.
05:54Mum, look, he's been all right, too.
05:57I know, I know.
06:00But let him give him a second.
06:02Yeah, give him a second.
06:03He keeps me, Stella.
06:04No, look, because we don't want Teddy to get too excited because he has to stay calm.
06:09Look at Peanut's tail, very happy, Dougie.
06:13We went into the kitchen and caught Rex in the crate with Teddy.
06:15Sat in there.
06:16Just wants to be with him.
06:17And, you know, we've said it before, Rex is really in tune with his emotions and with, like, animals and feelings.
06:23And he felt it, so, yeah, it was nice.
06:26He just wants to fix it, and he can't fix it, and he doesn't know why.
06:30You've got to finish packing, babe.
06:32Yeah, I know.
06:33Yeah, I don't know what to drink.
06:35The timing is terrible, but I've got to go away from work for a little while.
06:40I just wish it wasn't now.
06:42For the next five days, I've got to go abroad and do some filming,
06:45which is really the worst timing because I couldn't think of anything worse.
06:49I'd want to be at home at the minute with Teddy, with Stacey and the kids.
06:52But, you know, I've committed to it, and it's work, and it's important,
06:56and I don't want to let anyone down, so I'm just going to have to bite the bullet.
06:59This is definitely not mine.
07:01They are definitely not going in my suitcase.
07:03Thanks.
07:04They are Stacey's.
07:08Oh, you're not going to go, all right?
07:10Good luck.
07:10I'm happy.
07:11OK.
07:12Oh, I'm sorry I have to go, but you know it's like, didn't you?
07:15I don't know.
07:17Oh, it's just...
07:18I'll be home before you know it, all right, mate?
07:21You're good.
07:23You're going to be chucked in at the deep end.
07:25No-one ever expects that you're going to have to empty your dog's bladder
07:31three times a day, you know?
07:34See you later, Ted.
07:48Good morning.
07:50Good morning.
07:51I've got to try and, like, smoosh it right in there, so he definitely eats it.
08:02So, just everyday life at Pickle Cottage, it's hard work.
08:06Like, it's busy.
08:07Wait, Ted, I know you're excited.
08:09Hold on.
08:10Wait.
08:10I've got to get my shoes and everything on.
08:13Everyday, chickens and ducks.
08:16Morning.
08:18Feed them.
08:18I change their water.
08:19Every couple of days, I clear out their run.
08:23Then it's watering the plants.
08:27Then you've got to remember that you've got kids as well.
08:30You're like, oh, yeah, I've got to do the kids, do the lunches, do the school runs.
08:34OK, you ready?
08:36Three, two, one.
08:38And I think I'm feeling like I...
08:40I just am feeling really overwhelmed.
08:42I'm going to need some help while Jo's awake.
08:45So, Dave here.
08:47Dave to the rescue.
08:49Morning, Dad.
08:51Oh, my God.
08:52What are you?
08:52Where are you?
08:53Morning.
08:53Morning.
08:57What are you doing?
08:58Get your water sorted out and you smell it.
08:59What are you doing?
09:00There you are.
09:00No hot water.
09:01Hot water.
09:01You want hot water as well.
09:03I mean, don't get me wrong.
09:04Sometimes he gets very over-familiar.
09:06And it's quite overwhelming.
09:08However, I couldn't live without him.
09:10Please stay.
09:11Please.
09:11OK, I'll stay.
09:12I promise you, the new room's got such a beautiful shower.
09:15It helps.
09:16It's got a beautiful room.
09:17It's got a beautiful shower.
09:18It helps.
09:18For people that don't moan.
09:20Forget that, it's your choice of music.
09:22I know.
09:23Why is it in the shower?
09:24Also, got my sponge.
09:27OK, give it a cup.
09:30Go cover yourself up.
09:32Go on.
09:33Catch my death here, it's really cold.
09:35Says Dave with his arms out.
09:39Stacey is trying to juggle the kids
09:42and juggle the responsibility of the animals.
09:47Sounded good.
09:48And this is ready, what's the time?
09:51Come on, let's go, let's go.
09:52I think sometimes she finds it a bit too much.
09:56Love you.
09:58I think she's doing really, really well.
10:01When you look at the kids, they're all happy, they're all healthy.
10:04One step.
10:05Two steps.
10:06Two steps.
10:09And tickly under there.
10:13Some cause you trouble, some don't.
10:15And I think that's the best part of having kids, isn't it?
10:18Because if they're all perfect, how boring would that be?
10:24Not only have I began a whole new lease of life with Teddy getting up in the night,
10:30I can hear the boys on their games and it's driving me absolutely nuts.
10:34I am sick to death of being the internet police
10:39and every single night having to go in and switch off the Playstations
10:44only to find ten minutes later they'll turn them back on again.
10:47That is about to end.
10:48Zach and Layton, they've got loads of exams they have to do, they've got pressures of school,
11:11whatever, they need somewhere to release.
11:13I'm happy for them to play games but there's got to be, there's got to be a cut off.
11:17I feel like the last few months I've been, it's been like having another newborn baby
11:21checking on you two if you're on the Playstations.
11:25I can't keep waking up.
11:27I'm thinking, are they on it, are they not on it?
11:30So I just...
11:30On the weekends I'm on it, so I don't know what you want from me on that one.
11:33I didn't say I have a problem with the weekends, I haven't cut it off to Saturday and Sunday.
11:38I cut it off Sunday night to Thursday night.
11:41Well guess what, you're going to have to keep it on because I'm not at school.
11:44I tell you what, if you start getting into a pattern of going to bed at ten o'clock and going to work...
11:49I struggle sleeping, Mum.
11:51Yeah, you struggle sleeping because you're playing your game with it.
11:52No, I struggle sleeping because that's just how it is.
11:55No, 100% because you're into bad habits of staying up and playing the game.
11:59No, I think I can get in bed at nine o'clock and still not go to bed till half eleven.
12:04Because you've taught your brain that you don't need to go to bed at nine o'clock.
12:09You need to get your body clock working back again.
12:11Well, it's a struggle, Mum.
12:12Yeah, I know, and I'm going to make that struggle easier by not giving you any temptation to do anything else.
12:18I'm not a child.
12:18You're 17.
12:19You're not an adult.
12:21Yeah, I'm not an adult.
12:21I'm not a child.
12:22Okay, but I am in charge of you still, and you're still living under my roof.
12:27Me and Leighton are literally about to finish school home village.
12:29What's the point of setting this now?
12:31Macuse, I still think you shouldn't be on it till stupid o'clock in the morning.
12:35I'm not on it till stupid o'clock in the morning.
12:37Who do you think I am?
12:38I wouldn't be able to wake up if it was stupid o'clock in the morning.
12:40And you don't wake up and you're always late.
12:42Yeah, I know, but I don't stay on it past half eleven, maybe twelve o'clock at a push.
12:46That's too late.
12:47Oh, it's not.
12:48Yes, it is.
12:49I get at least seven hours.
12:50I come off straight away.
12:51No, no.
12:54Goodbye.
12:54Goodbye.
12:59Are you housebound now, so it's like, for how long?
13:08Well, they want him on crate rest, but they don't want him stuck there.
13:12The vet said I could leave him for maximum two to three hours.
13:16Are you the only person that can do this?
13:18At the moment, yeah.
13:20OK, so most of the diary I think we're going to be able to move and bring as much as we
13:25can here.
13:26Well, today, if we've got meetings back to back, we can gauge what it's like and how
13:30I can be there.
13:30Today is busy.
13:32No pleasantries today.
13:33No offering tea.
13:34They can make their own tea.
13:36OK.
13:36We had a full diary, you know, that is a logistical nightmare.
13:41Everyone that we had meetings with, the brands, everyone has a question.
13:45How long is she going to be doing this for the rest of her life?
13:47Is anyone else going to be able to help?
13:49Still wondering if Ted's even going to recover.
13:52It's heartbreaking.
13:53Well, look, let's get through today, and then I think our biggest thing is sort your life
13:57out.
13:58Let's follow up on that.
14:00But what about the BAFTAs?
14:01That ain't coming to you.
14:02Are you sure?
14:04Have you asked the Academy?
14:05Do I have to leave my dog?
14:06I just, all I really care about is that if I give this, give Teddy my best, and I give
14:13him the best care for the next four weeks, whatever happens was going to happen.
14:16Do you know what I mean?
14:17Like, I don't want to get to the end of four weeks and feel like I should have done more.
14:21Yeah, or if.
14:22Yeah.
14:22When I spoke to you the other day, you sounded really tearful, which is unlike you.
14:27No, I'm not teary girl, am I?
14:29No.
14:30I'm less teary.
14:31Yeah.
14:31I won't cry at our meetings today, I promise.
14:33Yeah, please don't.
14:34I'll hold myself together.
14:38One last question.
14:39OK.
14:40What do you enjoy most about being a dad?
14:43Ah, you know what?
14:45We could be here all day.
14:46There's so many aspects to being a dad that I love.
14:49I know that Stacey's really bumble boy at the minute.
14:52All right then, I'll see you in a little while.
14:53All right, love.
14:54Generally, in Stacey's life, she knows what's happening, she knows what to expect.
15:00I don't feel like Stacey quite knows how to handle this or what to expect.
15:04This situation's slightly out of her hands, so she can't really control this situation.
15:09You've just got to sort of go with the flow.
15:12So we've got an hour, yeah?
15:13We've got till half eleven.
15:15So, you know obviously you're missing the event tonight, because Teddy, they want us to
15:20do a little video to play into the event.
15:22Yeah, so you're all right if we do that now, because it is tonight.
15:25They want to get it as early as possible.
15:27Stacey, it's only me.
15:29I'm just having a little break at work, so I just wanted to sort of catch up with you.
15:33I'll see how you're getting on.
15:34I'd love to be there.
15:35We've been planning this event for months and months, and I'm so excited to do it.
15:39But obviously I have to stay home with my dog, Teddy, who's a bit poorly at the moment.
15:44I know you've got your handful at the minute.
15:47Stacey will never ever let you know how stressed or how nervous she is.
15:52She'll always, like, internalise it like a nice swan swimming on the water.
15:58But I reckon inside she's kicking like mad, you know what I mean?
16:01All right, see you tomorrow.
16:03See you later.
16:04But I'm thinking of you.
16:07Give me a bell when you get this message.
16:08Oh, thanks so much for coming, everyone.
16:11Sorry.
16:12This is out of the way, isn't it?
16:13Yeah.
16:13Sorry, it's a nightmare.
16:15This is exciting, isn't it?
16:16Act one.
16:17I love you.
16:18I hope you're all OK.
16:19Give Teddy a big kiss for me, all right?
16:21I'll speak to you soon.
16:22You make it a lot easier when everyone comes here and you don't have this terribly.
16:27I mean, at the moment, I feel like this is just how it's going to be for a little while.
16:32Maybe for a long while.
16:34But you've been such a good boy, haven't you?
16:52Like, you're supposed to stick your tongue out when you're cutting onions, and then it
17:03doesn't stop chewing and crying.
17:05But I realise how ridiculous I'm going to look, but I really just don't want sore eyes.
17:10Don't judge me.
17:15So, Joey's away for work.
17:18Kids are in the garden.
17:20And Zach's gone to the marathon.
17:21With his dad and Nicky.
17:24And so I would have loved to have been at the marathon.
17:26I know she's been training so hard for it.
17:28When you've got a blended family, it's so nice to show that you support, like, the other
17:33side of their family.
17:34And Zach always gets so excited when we go out together or do something with his dad and
17:39Nicky.
17:41But obviously, I can't leave Teddy here.
17:44So he's gone all the way out to London on his own.
17:47And you know you don't have much time to think about it, because obviously I'm not going
17:50to stop him from going.
17:51And now I'm sitting here thinking, oh, wow.
17:53I mean, he is 17.
17:56At that point, I was getting two trains to college with my baby.
17:59So I'm sure he'll be fine.
18:01I'm going to watch my step-mom complete the London Marathon.
18:17And I've been waiting so long, because she's been training for a good six, seven months.
18:23She really deserves to get through there.
18:26So we're going to meet my dad.
18:27And then we're going to meet her halfway.
18:29And then we're going to meet her at the finish.
18:30How's it been so far, though?
18:50It's been all right.
18:52Yeah.
18:52It's been a long day.
18:53Yeah.
18:54About 5am.
18:55Oh, really?
18:56Yeah.
18:56It could be worse, though.
18:58It could be running.
18:59Yeah.
19:00That's true.
19:00Would you have a go?
19:01No.
19:02None.
19:02No, absolutely not.
19:04It's impressive, though.
19:04It is an achievement.
19:06Absolutely.
19:06I don't think it's enough.
19:07It's not something I want to achieve.
19:08No.
19:26Even if I get on Zach's nerves, at least there's other people around that he can rely on.
19:31Zach loves Nicky.
19:33And I think that Zach is really similar to Dean.
19:36Like, Dean's fallen in love with Nicky, and I can see Zach also shares that same affection.
19:43Yeah, I did my mocks about a few weeks ago.
19:47I did two papers.
19:48I got 33 on one and then 20 on the other.
19:50I need 60% to pass.
19:52You've just got to revise.
19:54Just got to knuckle down now, put the time in, put the effort in, and it's done.
19:58You haven't got to go back to it.
19:59It's done.
20:00I've been revising, but a lot of the questions are different worded, but not very well.
20:06See, that's the same for me.
20:07I just did an exam just now on the course I was on, and I was petrified because I don't
20:12register it properly.
20:13It doesn't go in.
20:14So then I have to rethink or read the question, answer it, go back, read it again, just because
20:20it just doesn't go in.
20:21It's just got to take a bit of time.
20:23Phoebe, all right?
20:23When do you do your mechanics exam?
20:26I've got a practical on Thursday.
20:30It's really easy.
20:31That's good.
20:31Confident?
20:33Yeah, because I've done it about a million times.
20:35Good.
20:35Exactly.
20:36Nice.
20:36What do you want to do?
20:37It's nice.
20:50It's okay.
20:51Hello.
20:52Hi.
20:52Hi.
20:53Teddy, come in.
20:54Come in.
20:54Hello.
20:57What are you going to do?
20:58Should we go upstairs and get the dress out?
21:01The fact that my Stacey is up for two BAFTAs is amazing.
21:07So she's up against Ant and Dick.
21:09I'm always up against Ant and Dick.
21:10But that is amazing.
21:12And Ant and Dick always win.
21:14That's got to win sometime.
21:15You know, Stacey, he's going to be rubbing shoulders with Stephen Fry.
21:18I love Stephen Fry.
21:19Stephen Fry, he's Mr BAFTA, isn't he?
21:22So, Stacey, it's been a while since we've seen this dress.
21:26I know.
21:26Three, two and a half years.
21:28I forgot how Steve threw it on.
21:30So risotto.
21:32Surprise.
21:33I'm coming out to my bridesmaid.
21:35Exactly.
21:36There you are.
21:37I really wanted to wear my wedding dress for the BAFTAs because I've only worn it once.
21:42It's the best dress.
21:44It is.
21:44It makes me sad that I don't get to wear it every day.
21:49Stacey loves the idea of upcycling, recycling.
21:53It's the one thing in my house, my most precious possession, other than my kids, obviously.
21:59Your husband.
21:59Oh, yeah.
22:01You know what I mean?
22:02And I just thought, no, I want to wear it again.
22:05I want to get it out.
22:05I want to do something with it.
22:07I can't believe it, Stacey, the BAFTAs, all the things.
22:10It's really...
22:10I mean, I'm not surprised, but it's still quite unbelievable.
22:14No, I'm not.
22:15I'm surprised.
22:16No, I'm not.
22:17I'm surprised.
22:18No, you shouldn't be.
22:19Zach had his 17th birthday last month.
22:20Oh.
22:21So that means we've known each other for 16.
22:23Jeez.
22:24That's for madness.
22:25It's scary, isn't it?
22:26And you're still exactly the same.
22:27Well, I wouldn't say that.
22:28You are.
22:29I absolutely love her.
22:30She was my stylist on The X Factor, and I have not left her side ever since.
22:34I can't believe it.
22:35I have memories of him being a little baby, and you, like, I'm trying to say to the girls,
22:41just sort my dancers out.
22:42I've got to look after Zach.
22:43I just started holding the baby going, yeah, look at that in a minute.
22:45She's rehearsing.
22:46And he loved you so much.
22:47Oh.
22:48Oh, I still...
22:49He's grown into such a lovely boy, Stacey.
22:50She's done such a good job with him, with all of them.
22:53It was a village.
22:54You were part of the village, though.
22:55It was a village.
22:56You were part of the village, though.
22:57It was a village.
22:58It was a village.
22:59It was a village.
23:00It was a village.
23:01It was a village.
23:02It was good.
23:03It was good practice.
23:04She is the only person in this whole world that I would trust to take my wedding dress
23:09away and completely change it.
23:12Do you think we've got enough time?
23:13Yeah.
23:14Oh, well.
23:15Yeah.
23:16Yeah, we're going to do our best, yeah.
23:21Yeah, we will.
23:22We will.
23:23We will.
23:24We will.
23:25We will.
23:26We will.
23:27We will.
23:28We will.
23:29We will.
23:30They just say, Nikki finish on TV.
23:32Come on out.
23:33I mean, she must be coming up.
23:34Yeah, she'll walk through this, though.
23:36We've got to look out for her.
23:37There she is.
23:39Oh, no.
23:40Don't run!
23:41There she is.
23:43Oh no!
23:45Don't run!
23:47You'll turn it next time.
23:49I'm really running now.
23:51Well done.
23:53I like how heavy that is.
23:55It's heavy, isn't it?
23:57So proud.
23:59It's not the best weather.
24:01It wasn't the best weather, but at least it's dry.
24:03I was like...
24:05Canary Wolf was
24:07the hardest.
24:09Where is she then? I thought she was doing the last 10k with me.
24:13She's been ten years, isn't she?
24:15I'm gonna ring her.
24:17Don't ask me yet if I'm gonna do another one.
24:19No.
24:21No, you can't go through that again.
24:23But now I'm hungry.
24:25Can we go and get a burger?
24:27Yeah.
24:29Nando's.
24:31Thank you so much for coming.
24:33Smashed it.
24:35I see your heart is low.
24:39Don't wanna let you be on your own when you feel like this.
24:45Jo being away, I have found really difficult.
24:48Shall we do some physio too?
24:50You know, we work separately all the time.
24:52Jo goes away, I stay at home, I go away, Jo stays at home.
24:55And I never feel overwhelmed being at home,
24:57because I feel like I'm on top of things and I can manage things
25:00and I can just get it done.
25:02Whereas I think because the situation with Teddy is so raw
25:07and so new and different,
25:09it's probably one of the first times in a really long time
25:12I've felt vulnerable.
25:14But I do feel lonely with it
25:16and I have really missed him while he's been away.
25:19Shall we go back inside?
25:33Obviously, I've tried to manage work and things around that
25:37so that I can be at home with Teddy.
25:38But anything I can do while still being at home,
25:41I'm just gonna continue with,
25:43otherwise I'll have a pile of things to try and catch up on.
25:48Hey, Sam!
25:49How's he doing?
25:50Oh, Teddy.
25:51It's okay, Sam.
25:52It's alright.
25:53It's alright.
25:54That's alright.
25:55How's he doing?
25:56Yeah, he's doing alright.
25:58So, I need you because I've booked myself onto a bee course
26:03and I thought if we're getting bees, I need to know what I'm doing
26:06and I know that you're gonna be my partner in Christ.
26:08Yeah, definitely.
26:09No-one else is gonna look after these bees with me.
26:11Yeah, and I've got some knowledge about bees.
26:13I've done some in-house training.
26:15Yeah.
26:16I don't want to get it wrong either
26:17and I want to take it really seriously.
26:19Yeah.
26:20It's another animal, do you know what I mean?
26:22Bees are just all-round superheroes.
26:24They're good guys, isn't they, bees?
26:26Insects kingdom.
26:27And they do absolutely everything.
26:28So, they pollinate.
26:29Yeah.
26:30They encourage growth in the garden.
26:33They make honey.
26:34They're just all-round top-tier insects.
26:39Helen, the bee lady found, said she can do a theory bee test at home.
26:46It's gonna be like Noah's Ark, mate.
26:48They come two by two, don't they?
26:50The animals in this house.
26:51No, we're gonna need more than two.
26:53So, in the hive, you have about 60,000 bees.
26:58One queen bee, she's the mother of all of the other bees in the hive.
27:02Okay.
27:03So, imagine having 60,000 children.
27:06I'm nearly there, Helen.
27:08I'm nearly there.
27:10About, I don't know, 59,500 worker bees.
27:15They're all the women.
27:16Guess what they do?
27:17They do all the work.
27:18All the work.
27:19I really don't know.
27:20They have a few hundred drones who are the boy bees.
27:23What do they do?
27:24They look good.
27:25Exactly.
27:26They don't really do much.
27:27Wow.
27:28So, their main responsibility is to mate with queen bees from other hives.
27:31Virgin queens.
27:32And that's all they've got to do.
27:34Yeah.
27:35But, but, but, but, wait for this.
27:36This is good.
27:37So, as soon as the weather starts getting a bit cold,
27:39you can see the worker bees literally dragging the drones out.
27:43And they push them out of the hive, and they bite their wings,
27:46and they just won't let them back in.
27:48Like, no, no, your job's done, mate.
27:50Yeah.
27:51That's it until the spring.
27:52We don't need you now.
27:53Exactly.
27:54Maybe we should start doing that with our husband.
27:55Bite Jo's legs off?
27:56Yeah.
27:57Go on.
27:58Off you go.
27:59I'm ready to hide every day now.
28:01I've done all the work.
28:02You can come back in the spring.
28:03You've planted your seeds.
28:04Goodbye.
28:05Shall I show you a hive?
28:07Yes, please.
28:08Come on.
28:10Yeah, this is what we're hoping the bees will love as well.
28:14Oh, yes.
28:15I can see beans.
28:17They'll be all over those.
28:18Yeah, the raw beans.
28:19I see them on there a lot at the moment.
28:21Yeah.
28:22But, yeah, so this is the veg factor.
28:23This is Mark.
28:24Sorry, Mark.
28:25We've just skate crashed you.
28:26We're doing, we've been doing a beekeeping course.
28:29Really?
28:30Yeah.
28:31I've just been driving from, you know, where Gemma used to live.
28:35Yeah.
28:36There's a massive small swarm of bees.
28:37Just literally about three doors down from the Neesa.
28:40It's in the front garden.
28:41Well, you've just seen it?
28:42I've just seen it, yeah.
28:43Oh, my goodness.
28:44Let's go.
28:45Come on, let's go.
28:46It was a big swarm.
28:47So that was only a little while ago.
28:48Literally, I just had to pick the materials up, just see it, and obviously...
28:51Really?
28:52Oh, should we go and get it?
28:53Yeah.
28:54Let's go and see if we can catch it.
28:55Can we actually go and...
28:56Yeah, I've got everything we need.
28:57Oh, you've got everything?
28:58Yeah.
28:59Shall we go?
29:00Do you have a hive?
29:01Yeah, I have a...
29:02I'm a beekeeper.
29:03I carry a hive with me at all times.
29:04Because you never know when you're going to see a swarm, and this is the time of year
29:07where they swarm.
29:08The law is, as long as you're not trespassing, anyone can collect them, and then they're your
29:12bees.
29:13Let's do it.
29:14Yay, let's do it.
29:15Let's do it.
29:16I feel anxiety.
29:17We're not...
29:18We're just going to take it.
29:19Yeah, let's go, because otherwise they might go.
29:21Someone else might get there before us.
29:23You two look like you're so ready to.
29:24Yeah, let's go.
29:25Come on.
29:26Mark.
29:27I can't believe it.
29:28You're going to catch your bees.
29:29Yeah.
29:30Can we?
29:31Can we?
29:32Why not?
29:33Come on.
29:34Let's go.
29:35Okay.
29:36Oh my God.
29:37Mark.
29:38Thanks Mark.
29:39So can we just pick...
29:40You...
29:41You don't have to tell anyone or...
29:43No.
29:44I actually can't believe we're going to get a swarm.
29:46I know.
29:47I mean...
29:48I feel all over the place Sam.
29:50I've never felt so annoyed.
29:51I know.
29:52I know.
29:53Because it's ad hoc.
29:54That's the problem.
29:55It's not often these sort of things happen though, is it?
29:57No.
29:58I'm not very spontaneous.
29:59I'm a planner.
30:00Like I like to know that I've got everything sorted before I do something.
30:05So going to collect a random swarm of bees before I've even got my own hive, I can honestly
30:12say is peak stress for me.
30:15So he said it was set back in their garden.
30:22There's definitely bees.
30:23Look.
30:24I'm all excited and I'm scared at the same time.
30:27I know.
30:28Oh my God.
30:29Oh my goodness.
30:30It's a really good one.
30:31Look.
30:32Is it?
30:33Oh yeah.
30:34Okay.
30:35I was genuinely considering not doing it even with the beekeeper and expert.
30:40I can't believe all of that happened.
30:42Right.
30:43But your suit's on.
30:44Cool.
30:45Are we all putting them on?
30:46Yeah.
30:47Because if you're going to go close to them you've got to.
30:48I'm putting a beekeeper on.
30:49See that actually happening.
30:50Try that.
30:51See how you get on with that.
30:52Do you know what I mean?
30:53Check the back of yours.
30:54Marigolds are the best.
30:55Maybe.
30:56I've got plenty of them.
30:57Yeah, true.
30:58This is really good disguise for me.
31:01Yeah.
31:02Yeah.
31:03Yeah.
31:04Yeah.
31:05Yeah.
31:06Yeah.
31:07Yeah.
31:08Yeah.
31:09Yeah.
31:10Yeah.
31:11Yeah.
31:12Yeah.
31:13Yeah, exactly.
31:14No one would like you.
31:15No one would like me.
31:16They'll just be like.
31:17Let me just go and see this lady.
31:18Hiya.
31:19Do you live here?
31:20No.
31:21Sorry.
31:22Well you've got a bee swarm on your rose bush.
31:23So I would just be very careful at the moment.
31:25Oh, everything's gone wrong.
31:26No.
31:27Nothing's gone wrong.
31:28But they've landed on your rose bush.
31:29So what we're doing is we're making it safe.
31:32Because otherwise we don't know where they'll land.
31:35They could make a nest in your house or in your garden.
31:38I can't imagine what it must have been like for the people living in that house to see, to come
31:45home and see just these fully bee suited up women.
31:48They must have thought, oh my gosh, the aliens have taken over.
31:51It's happening.
31:52But you know what?
31:53You're happy though.
31:54You're okay with us taking the bees?
31:55Yes.
31:56Lovely.
31:58That's really kind of you.
31:59Let's do it, Helen.
32:01Just pop that down.
32:04Let's just see, because sometimes this works.
32:08So you want the grottiest, disgustedest old frame that you can possibly lay your hands
32:13off.
32:14And we'll just see, because sometimes they'll just walk onto this.
32:17That would be cool, guys, if you could just walk onto it.
32:20Let's see, they're taking an interest already.
32:21Oh, yeah, they are.
32:22They're like, oh, what's this?
32:24Maybe this could be a new house.
32:26And it can be, guys.
32:27Yeah.
32:28Come to Pericle Cottage.
32:29Oh, they are getting onto it.
32:30Yeah.
32:31Oh, come close.
32:32This is really important.
32:33We've got a virgin queen in this.
32:34Oh, can you see it there?
32:35How do you know?
32:36I can hear her.
32:37Just like this.
32:40I can hear her.
32:41I'm looking, looking.
32:42It's unbelievable.
32:43Let's just try and shake them.
32:45I hope for the best.
32:48Are you ready?
32:49Yeah.
32:50Yeah.
32:53Wow.
32:57Let's stand back.
32:58We're lucky she's in.
33:00They're crawling in there, aren't they?
33:01Yeah.
33:02So does that mean she's in there?
33:03Hopefully.
33:04Oh, wow.
33:05That is so amazing.
33:08I can't believe this happened.
33:10I know.
33:11Isn't it cool?
33:12They're actually, they're going to come home.
33:14How exciting is this?
33:15Look, I'm going in the house though.
33:17Jo will literally be like, only you.
33:19Yeah.
33:20Let's start a beekeeping corset and come home with a whole colony of bees.
33:25That's looking good.
33:27Yeah.
33:29Oh, I'm so sorry.
33:30You want a cup of tea?
33:31You know I'm never going to say no to a cup of tea.
33:35I'll tell you what.
33:36Our car is parked along that.
33:39I would have been right near the drop.
33:42Yeah.
33:43Oh, I would have screened the place down.
33:45It wasn't near the store.
33:47We went the same place.
33:48No?
33:49Oh, really?
33:50It was completely empty.
33:51So I don't know what I'll call if it happens again.
33:53Well, I'm your girl now apparently.
33:55Right.
33:57Where's all your shopping?
33:59Helen, we're all right to get back in now, aren't we?
34:05Thank you so much.
34:06Thank you so much.
34:07Bye.
34:08Bye.
34:09Bye.
34:11Oh my God, and now we're going home.
34:14Wow.
34:20What have we got in there, Peanut?
34:21You be careful now.
34:22You don't want to not do that.
34:25Do you know what?
34:26Every time I go round there, I expect there to be a new animal.
34:28I actually don't know why Stacey wants so many animals.
34:31It's not like we came from a horticultural, farmyard lifestyle.
34:35We came from a two-bedroom house in Dagenham.
34:37We've not very much room to swing a cat, if I'm honest with you.
34:40So maybe it's the appreciation of having all that space.
34:44And I don't know.
34:45I don't want to...
34:46I'm glad I'm not in her head.
34:47Welcome home, girl.
34:48Yay.
34:50And a few boys.
34:51Yeah.
34:53Nice study spot.
34:54You want to always have plenty of room around the hive.
34:56Yeah.
34:57So I think that'll be all right, won't it?
34:58And then this way.
34:59That's it.
35:00Perfect.
35:01So this is where it's going to be forever now.
35:03Yeah.
35:04Fine.
35:05That's it.
35:06Good.
35:07Okay.
35:08Open them up.
35:09Okay.
35:10Welcome to your new home.
35:11Right.
35:12I better order a hive.
35:13Yeah.
35:14You've got to get all your gear quickly.
35:15And I need to book in the second half of this course that we've definitely missed now.
35:25This has been so amazing.
35:26Honestly, Ellen, thank you so much.
35:27I've got to run and do Teddy's medication.
35:28Go for it.
35:29But, yeah.
35:30I loved every second of that.
35:41J.O.E. is back.
35:42Oh, where is it?
35:43Just coming out, I think.
35:44All right, mate.
35:45Cheers, Rich.
35:46Everyone to the stage later.
35:47That goes well, yeah?
35:48There he is.
35:49It's been really tough knowing that Stacey's been at home struggling with the dog for five
35:59days while I've been working.
36:00So, I think I might have overcompensated slightly with the presents.
36:02In a minute.
36:03Hello, Mum.
36:04You all right?
36:05Yeah, I'll give it to you.
36:06Now, look.
36:07Wow.
36:08Here you go, girl.
36:09Yeah, there's one of these for you each.
36:10This is for when you're training.
36:11I've got it.
36:12I've got it.
36:13I've got it.
36:14I've got it.
36:15I've got it.
36:16I've got it.
36:17I've got it.
36:18I've got it.
36:19I've got it.
36:20I've got it.
36:21I've got it.
36:22I've got it.
36:23I've got it.
36:24I've got it.
36:25I've got it.
36:26I've got it.
36:27I've got it.
36:28I've got it.
36:29I've got it.
36:30It's a Nathalie training cop.
36:31Nathalie cat.
36:34It sucks as well.
36:36Daddy?
36:37Yeah?
36:38I really love these what you've got me.
36:40No, do you want to see?
36:41So, you know, starting my court for that.
36:43And, you know, Martha does the drains.
36:45Mm-hmm.
36:46He's like, I've just seen a swarm of bees down by the Nyssa by Gemma.
36:51Yeah.
36:52And then Sam's like, we should go and pick it up.
36:54Like, before I know it, I'm in the car driving down to Nyssa and caught a swarm.
36:59Oh, my God.
37:00And then she's like, I'll leave it with you.
37:02So we've got the back of the car to play for the car.
37:05Yeah.
37:06Apart from Teddy, how have you been on your Bible board with kids all right?
37:11Oh, yeah, the kids are no, Martha.
37:13It's been difficult with Teddy because she's been non-stop.
37:17And then, obviously, it's a worry, innit, with him.
37:22Because I've just got a thousand alarms on my phone for all the different medications.
37:28He's taking him for walks, doing his physio, weeing, and then trying to work in between.
37:35I'm bubber, honestly.
37:36I'm scared.
37:37I just feel like I have to sort your life out.
37:39So I have to go away.
37:41So...
37:42All right.
37:43I'll have another go tomorrow and try and take someone if I have enough of you.
37:47And then it's way different.
38:03Excuse me.
38:06Excuse me!
38:08I'm not going to take you very far with you guys.
38:12I've got to go away for work and a part of me is like relieved and that sounds horrible but
38:33it's been so stressful at least I've got like a bit of a break from that but at the same time
38:39I'm panicking because I'm going away and now this is Jo's first introduction to everything that's
38:45been going on let's go check my list I'm sure she's added stuff to this list there was only blue pen and
38:54now there's purple pen what does it say start washing dishwasher food prep honestly it's just
39:04that you've seen this list look this list starts at 5am in the morning right goes from 5am all the way
39:126 6 30 7 o'clock and turnover we're not going on school run yet it's still only 8 o'clock in the
39:21morning nine o'clock get the kids to school one o'clock teddy four o'clock seven o'clock nine o'clock
39:27I mean that is quite quite a full list isn't it and listen don't get let's not be mistaken when
39:35Stacy comes home we'll sit down and we'll go through this list and she'll make sure that I've done all
39:40of it and if I haven't I'll be at it again right do you leave lists for Stacy when you go I couldn't
39:48think I'd you know what we should do it as a little social experiment I'd love to see the reaction of if I
39:54was going to work and I left Stacy a list of things to do because sometimes she says to me
39:58when you've done it can you just put like a little heart at the end of the and I'm like oh
40:02so you want me to decorate the list as I go along and all so yeah I feel like we should do that
40:08social experiment how Stacy copes with Joe's lists
40:11it's Edward let's sort you out where
40:16day-to-day things I'm rubbish at but really unique obscure things I find I'm really good at
40:23and one of these things is is emptying a donkey bladder who would have thought it it requires a
40:29certain amount of arm strength and Joe has good arms all right Ted give me a minute let me tidy up
40:36get myself changed and we'll go for a walk so we're two weeks in Teddy still can't feel anything in his
40:42back legs which is not a good sign obviously fundamentally the vet said he's really in high
40:48spirits he's quite a happy dog still so if he was an older dog then you know maybe we would have
40:54thought about putting him down you know might have been might have been the kindest thing to do but
40:59he's only two years old you know I mean it'll be heartbreaking to have to let him go so
41:04try and think positively sorry darling
41:08who Teddy no if his legs don't get better we can put some wheels on can't we
41:17put some rules on there Teddy wheels yeah it'll be so fast Rex
41:25Rex emotionally and quite it's quite emotional quite spiritual when it comes to things like that
41:34he's not too young to to learn about death and stuff because it happens but
41:39if we can protect him from it a little bit you know
41:42then we'll do that
41:44you all right in there all right I love you I love you
41:50thank you right I'm gonna meet Nick down the lake and see what's happening
41:55right I'll see you in little one have a good one thanks for having the kids
41:58hello Joe how are you all right is it just you just me
42:11farmer Scott is like Scott is like our father figure
42:15shall I just uh op him no no no no no pep talk before we start
42:19don't trip over them in terms of the fishing knowledge and stuff like that that's down to
42:24me Nick and Greg we we sort of know our thing we know our stuff when it comes to fishing
42:28we need to do some seeding and he's the one that me Greg and Nick go to when we're in trouble
42:34that shakes it spreads it down spreads it out and in that the roller behind or flatten it out
42:40and we just need some rain how long will it take the grass will take six weeks to get
42:46established right but we desperately need a rain you see how dry this ground is I mean
42:51our deadline was end of April and there's just a little little tiny puddle so I can't just sit
42:57around waiting for the water welcome to farming you never know what the weather's gonna do to you
43:02whose idea was this yours well there's nothing we can do with the water you know but the rest of the site
43:08can be developed we can do that we can get everything else ready to be open and then when
43:14it's filled it's filled isn't it it will get there it will happen it's just a case if you can't put
43:18a date on when we're not the most patient people Scott or the most popular you are
43:22coming in boys come all right here we go oh I feel so manly right there are you sure you know how to do this
43:30are you sure you know how to do this hold on wait up here let's go oh this is what steady steady
43:38otherwise the seat don't go in front of me you see the seat coming out there see the seats are blowing out
43:44oh there's this good speed here then a bit faster than that that's about what I like though
43:50oh come on catch him quick
43:52I can't catch you
43:54I think this way
43:58I don't want to move up on top of you
44:00Scott I'm not that fussy
44:02oh mate he's gone down there
44:06we are not equipped to go down there with
44:08what we're doing it
44:14so far so good
44:16what are you looking at like he actually knows what he's doing
44:18you're absolutely spot on there
44:20perfect
44:22we've decided instead of just stressing about the water
44:24we're just going to have to wait over the winter
44:26and hopefully by next summer we might be open
44:30that's the plan
44:36well done
44:38Scott honestly if you're ever short mate
44:40and you need someone to sit in the seat next to you
44:42just let me know
44:44I've probably enjoyed that
44:46I wonder
44:52they say
44:54when kids are asleep
44:56if you lift their arm up
44:58and it stays in the air
45:00it shows her asleep
45:02but if they drop their arm
45:04it means they're pretending
45:06so we see if he's pretending
45:08just keep his arm up with it
45:10remember if he stays up he's asleep
45:12that's better
45:14that's better
45:16that's better

51:06It sounds ridiculous, but even just being near other people on prestigious shows,
51:10I bet they think they've all got to bring them riff back in.
51:13You just feel this massive amount of pressure to do well or to do the right thing
51:18so that the whole show gets recognised, you know what I mean?
51:22Like, I find it a massive pressure.
51:25Welcome to the BAFTA Television Awards 2025.
51:29Shall we come and sit down and see Mummy?
51:31Yes, I'm here.
51:32Boys?
51:33Oh, look, there's Mummy.
51:35This is Mummy!
51:36She has the big boobies out!
51:39Works.
51:41Our next award is for Factual Entertainment.
51:44Woo!
51:45Here's the nomination.
51:48Oh, snobby over there.
51:50Don't think it's been thought through properly.
51:52No.
51:53Oh, Gwyn, she looks stunning.
51:54She's got a beautiful dress on.
51:56She's got a little witted dress.
51:58And the blaster goes to...
52:00Here we go, we've got to see who wins it.
52:02Robin and Ryland's Grand Four!
52:04It's the entering that takes part.
52:10I mean, actually being put in for it.
52:13It's pretty cool.
52:14Fingers crossed for the next one.
52:16Next.
52:17Present the BAFTA for entertainment performance.
52:19Incredible TV!
52:26Come on, Stacey.

52:44Aw, poor Stacey.
52:49Bye.
52:51Talk about it.
52:52Talk about it in the car.
52:53Thank you, darling.
52:54When they said Joe Lycett, he went,
52:57Aw, you're joking!
52:59Joe Lycett!
53:00I was like, baby, he's going to see all of this on the ceiling.
53:05Stacey's phoning.
53:07Hold on.
53:08Hello.
53:09Hello.
53:10One second.
53:12I lost them both, Dad.
53:13Oh, my God.
53:14I know, Dave.
53:15That's fine.
53:16That's fine.
53:17It's devastating when we didn't win.
53:18And I know you're not supposed to say that,
53:20and people are like,
53:21Oh, Lily's gracefully.
53:22And I think, well, why?
53:23I'm scared.
53:24I think you should just take me next time.
53:26I don't think Joe's very lucky.
53:28Yeah, you're my lucky time, Zach.
53:30I think it's Joe.
53:31I think it's Joe that makes me lose every time.
53:33I'll see you soon, baby.
53:34I love you.
53:35All right.
53:36Love you.
53:38I'm going to see, can we go and see Grandma?
53:40Yeah, let's go.
53:41Oh, please.
53:42We could make a buster on the way home.
53:43We could.
53:44She's got bad eyes.
53:45She won't even know the difference.
53:46She does.
53:47She's going to be like, well done.
53:48If we take my shoe in like this, Grandma,
53:51I won the buster.
53:52Turn it off.
53:53Turn it off.
53:54Turn it off.
53:59I just made a shot.
54:01Come on, then.
54:03Okay.
54:06Oh.
54:11I lost Grandma.
54:12It's me, Jason.
54:20What did you think when I lost?
54:22Oh, sorry, but we knew it was happening one time.
54:25We did, didn't we?
54:26I mean, it's the buster's grandma.
54:31This is my wedding dress, Grandma.
54:32Yes.
54:33Yes.
54:34So I wanted you to see my wedding dress.
54:36It's all sparkly.
54:37Yeah.
54:38You've got to, you've got to know.
54:40We're matching, yeah.
54:42You look so pretty, Grandma.
54:44Oh.
54:45I'm so grateful you all stayed up and watched, honestly.
54:48Oh, we did.
54:49It's so nice.
54:50I love you all.
54:51I want to grab her and watch it with you, love.
54:55On Sunday, I want to come for a robe.
54:58All right.
54:59Yeah.
55:00I've got a leg of lamb in the free party.
55:01You're going to get a leg of lamb.
55:02Love you, Grandma.
55:04Love you, Grandma.
55:05That's where we should have gone, right?
55:06We should have gone there.
55:07We should have gone there.
55:08We should have gone there.
55:09I've got to sod the busters.
55:10Sod the busters.
55:11Sod the busters.
55:20Thanks, Rich.
55:21Love you.
55:22I feel too much, Rich.
55:23Something like it.
55:24You didn't leave it.
55:25I know you didn't get the award, but you got a beehive instead.
55:29Beehive yourself, baby.
55:30Beehive.
55:31Well done.
55:32Well done.
55:33Listen, you was nominated and that's the most important thing, isn't it?
55:35I was robbed, I tell ya.
55:36Well, I've enjoyed it.
55:37It's funny though, isn't it?
55:39Yeah.
55:40He's so happy to see you, isn't he?
55:41Oh, look.
55:42He weed and peanut come out with her.
55:44And he just looks so happy anyway.
55:46Doesn't he?
55:47Yeah, he looks so happy.
55:48I'm not your BAFTA-winning mum, but, you know.
55:51The kids are all asleep.
55:53I've only just gotten to bed about half an hour ago.
55:55Oh, really?
55:56Yeah.

56:10That's a far cry.
56:11...we'll be up for the Oscar.
56:12All right.
56:13Oscar for what?
56:14Just for being Stacey Sullivan.
56:15I don't think they have a presenter Oscar.
56:17I think it's for film.
56:18I love you, Bob.
56:19Hold on!
56:20I don't think we thought this through.

56:24Clearly responding.
56:25Is he responding?
56:26Yeah.
56:27You forgot you could use those back legs, didn't you?
56:29What a lovely day for a party!
56:31The cocktail bar is open!
56:33I think he should be a soprano.
56:34I'm more comfortable with being a tenor.
56:35The tenors might be comfortable with you.
56:36The tenors might be comfortable with you.
