Why Angelina Jolie Is Leaving America

00:00Angelina Jolie is ready for a change as insiders tell us weekly in this week's cover story

00:05that the actress plans to leave the United States and she's the happiest she's been in a long time.

00:10Angelina has been toying with the idea of leaving the U.S. for quite some time,

00:14even saying in 2019 that she would love to live abroad as soon as her kids turn 18.

00:19Well, now that her twins turn 18 next July, Angelina seems to be making good on her promise,

00:24with a source telling us,

00:25Now the actress has strong ties to nations all over the world.

00:39The second source says she'll likely be partially based in Cambodia,

00:42where she still owns a property,

00:44as we know she adopted Maddox from the Southeast Asian country in 2002,

00:47and will also spend some time in France, where Knox and Vivian were born,

00:51and Africa. Sahara is from Ethiopia and Shiloh is born in Namibia.

00:56The source adds Angelina thrives when she's outside of Hollywood.

01:00She loves being in cultures that inspire her.

01:02Now she won't stray too far from her children,

01:04with the source telling us that the kids will most likely keep roots in L.A. for their careers,

01:08but they will spend time with Angelina wherever she ends up as well.

01:12The children are all very creative and take after their parents in that they love

01:16all aspects of filmmaking and the arts.

01:19Sources say Angelina seems more like her old self lately,

01:21and that life is coming full circle following her divorce from Brad Pitt being finalized in December of 2024.

01:27A source tells us Angelina is in a much better place,

01:30she's not dwelling on the past or carrying any baggage,

01:33and has worked through a lot of the trauma over the years by doing healing work and a lot of therapy.

01:37There's a joy about her that people haven't seen in years.

01:41Now her inner circle is small and includes a few famous faces like Gwen Stefani,

01:45Salma Hayek, and her ex-husband, Billy Bob Thornton.

01:48The second source says that she and Gwen, who became close in 2004,

01:52talk and text a few times a month and see each other several times a year.

01:55As for dating, sources say she's been on a few and that people try to set her up.

02:00But a source tells us she has been through so much.

02:02For now, she's just focusing on her career and her kids.

02:05She's found herself again, and it feels good.
