Short filmTranscript
00:00Three previous block backyards into one of these places.
00:03Big space. Big space means a lot of things that need to be done,
00:06which means a lot of money.
00:07Hustle is going to be our motto for this season.
00:09Hustle, hustle, hustle.
00:10We were talking about landscaping plans from day dot.
00:13Gardens are so important to us.
00:15I've got all this crazy paving coming into here.
00:18That's going to be our point of difference.
00:20They keep just saying, any money you win,
00:21it's going to go into your landscape.
00:24Tonight, backyard week officially begins.
00:28Best week of the block here.
00:30We can't wait, we can't wait.
00:30Full odd week.
00:31It is going to be epic, providing we can pull it off.
00:35Being outside, it's a whole new playing field.
00:37It's just the scale of this week is ginormous.
00:40There's so many things.
00:41I just don't know how we're going to pull it off.
00:43Nearly unrealistic to think that you could landscape this whole backyard in a week.
00:48Keep calm and drink tea.
00:50We had poured a little bit of the concrete.
00:52Other than that, we've done no landscaping.
00:54Yeah, we have a lot to do.
00:55Let's make this look ridiculous.
00:57We have this huge seven and a half ton fireplace and then an 18 by eight big pool court.
01:02No other house has got that.
01:03And as we reach the end of the competition, it seems all is fair in love and landscaping.
01:09Our point of difference to the landscape is these rocks, and now they're in your landscape.
01:14Well, it's on our land.
01:15Finders keepers.
01:16Yeah.
01:17Loses weepers.
01:17It's week 11, and it is the biggest week of them all.
01:31It's landscaping week.
01:32Garden says so much to a house.
01:35Like, it sells a house.
01:37We love landscaping.
01:38And driving through Dalesford, you see all these amazing back and front yards.
01:41You see the work that people put into them.
01:49So to sell this house, yes, the interior needs to be great, but your outdoors just needs to be next level.
01:55Yep, in just seven days, our blockheads need to turn these piles of dirt into backyards worthy of their Dalesford surroundings.
02:10Needless to say, it's going to be a very busy week.
02:13So we've got the entire backyard, the pool cabana, everything around the pool, all the landscaping, the earth moving, the excavation.
02:25There's a lot.
02:27Busy stuff.
02:28Concrete pours in one, two, three, and five today.
02:30We've already got two pumps here.
02:32There's going to be a lot happening.
02:34Last week's going to look like kids playing in the sandpit compared to the next two weeks.
02:38All right.
02:40That's it for today.
02:41Be nice to each other.
02:42Have a coffee.
02:43Did you enjoy last night, Shayla?
02:48Yeah.
02:49What was shown?
02:50The first episode.
02:51So funny.
02:53Sunday night after judging, we watched the first episode.
02:56Welcome to our 21st season of The Block.
03:03It's weird seeing yourself on TV.
03:05Yeah.
03:06I loved it.
03:07Yeah, we thought it was cool.
03:07I loved watching that.
03:08They captured our backstory so well.
03:10Neasway always has to take us to the shops.
03:13She loved Owen because she sings her songs in the back of the car.
03:19We're just like first mates.
03:22Close to getting the age where we're looking to start families and all that.
03:27Surprise.
03:27It was awesome.
03:31No surprise.
03:31Really nice.
03:32Yeah.
03:32Because I will not cop that.
03:34I did nothing towards you and nor have I done anything towards you this entire time.
03:39Not one thing.
03:40We walked out of the yard.
03:42We walked out of the yard.
03:42Sweet.
03:43That's us.
03:43We loved it.
03:44Yeah.
03:44We are who we are.
03:45We all saw ourselves on TV and it was like wow.
03:58We had a good laugh but we were enjoying ourselves and we have ever since.
04:03Who was not happy with how they were portrayed?
04:07Not portrayed but was anyone not happy?
04:10You trying to get a million things done really quickly?
04:13So now I've lost us here.
04:15It's like a certain total from a period.
04:18Just watching myself be like disgusted with house two, to me it came across like a
04:48I was ungrateful.
04:50This is a problem to me.
04:52This retaining wall.
04:54It's so ugly.
04:56I hate it.
04:58I hate it.
05:00I just look like a spoiled brat.
05:03That's how it felt watching it and that's why I was like, that's why I was like oh gross.
05:09Like I feel gross about myself.
05:10I feel gross about the situation.
05:13This is the world that we live in.
05:18I feel myself get tired.
05:22I feel myself get tired.
05:23This is the world that we live in.
05:27Watching the first episode was a little cringe.
05:30The first couple weeks for us, like we didn't know what we were in for.
05:34We were like, I don't know, like birds who had just let them nest and were struggling to fly.
05:41The next two weeks just want to have a bit of fun.
05:43We used to have so much fun together.
05:45We used to get along so well.
05:47We never argued before we started on the block.
05:49We used to be friends.
05:50Now we're enemies.
05:51Can you believe it?
05:52Frenemies.
05:54It's okay.
05:55We'll see what happens after the block.
06:02Monday morning.
06:03We're feeling good.
06:04We're feeling 40 grand richer.
06:06With a perfect score.
06:0930 out of 30.
06:11We did it.
06:11We got a perfect score.
06:14We won the week.
06:16And we got a 10 from every judge.
06:20Congratulations boys.
06:22Last night the boys revealed their highly anticipated wine cellar.
06:27That's been 10 weeks in the making.
06:28And the judges absolutely loved it.
06:32Oh, look at this.
06:40This is the perfect wine cellar.
06:42This is a home run.
06:45They now don't have the same houses.
06:48Yeah.
06:48And put themselves in a totally new bracket because of what they've added.
06:53While all the teams delivered their alfresco area and sheds last night,
06:59this morning at the Domain Open for Inspections,
07:02everyone's focus is on the boys' wine cellar.
07:05Oh my gosh.
07:08Wow.
07:09I love it.
07:11Wow.
07:12So cool.
07:13The boys just smashed it out of the park.
07:15Three 10s.
07:16Incredible.
07:18That's f***ing thing.
07:19Wow.
07:20All language.
07:23I tried so hard to fault it,
07:26but it honestly was freaking epic.
07:29Wow.
07:29Look at the floor.
07:30How amazing does that look?
07:34Far out.
07:36Very cool.
07:37They nailed it.
07:3910 out of 10 out of 10 out of 10 out of 10.
07:42Oh my God.
07:42I feel sorry for anybody else who's doing a cellar
07:45because this is just like,
07:47you can't compete.
07:49You guys have a cellar coming up?
07:51We do.
07:51We do have a cellar coming up.
07:52I feel like we've got like big boots to fill.
07:55Yeah.
07:56I need to take a photo so we can copy the whole thing.
08:02Wow, wow, wow.
08:04Wow, this is cool.
08:04Look at the amount of wine.
08:07You would find me down here all day.
08:09Imagine how much,
08:10how litty, titty, mick litty
08:11we would get down here, Hans.
08:13Very well deserved.
08:14And if I had my time again,
08:17I would come here with Robbie.
08:26Thanks, babe.
08:27The other space everyone is keen to check out this morning
08:31is in house three.
08:34They came third last night with a score of 27 points.
08:38We wanted to be up there with the boys.
08:39We wanted to really test them.
08:41So that's why we threw so much at it.
08:43We created a speakeasy in the shed.
08:44Is this a shed?
08:48This does not feel like a shed.
08:51Is this compliant?
08:55I don't know if this is going to get signed off.
08:57This is such a gamble.
09:04Oh!
09:05Ooh.
09:06Nice.
09:07Not compliant.
09:08Wow, this is a bar.
09:13You're not allowed to produce a room
09:16that you're going to spend longer than 40 minutes in.
09:20Like, if you're not supposed to encourage people
09:21to spend time in it,
09:22this is about as encouraging as it gets.
09:28I'm going out there and I'm getting drunk.
09:31That'll only take 20 minutes.
09:33Yeah, true.
09:33Oh, my goodness.
09:39Wow.
09:40The shed was...
09:43Illegal.
09:45Not allowed.
09:46That's what the shed was.
09:47The shed was the most gorgeous tasting room.
09:50Which I loved.
09:51Don't get me wrong.
09:53But not allowed.
09:58That was my plan
09:59and I got declined on multiple occasions.
10:02So I was pissed off.
10:03For me, it was like,
10:08how do you have what?
10:10It's okay.
10:12I know it's okay,
10:13but I'm allowed to be, like,
10:15pissed off about it being unfair.
10:17I ask all those questions, right?
10:20And we get told no.
10:21So, like, I'm like,
10:22how is it okay for one
10:23and not the other?
10:26I don't know.
10:26Don't worry about it.
10:27I'm worried about it.
10:28It is what it is.
10:29Who cares, Hannah?
10:30I can't.
10:31We move on.
10:32Two weeks to go.
10:33Just embrace it.
10:34It's fine.
10:35So, Candy,
10:36you were becoming frustrated as well
10:37and you seemed to get a bit upset.
10:39It's just her attitude.
10:40It was so negative.
10:41Like, literally,
10:45if anything is to learn
10:46from watching the episode last night
10:47is you and I need to have more fun.
10:50It would take it way too seriously.
10:52It's a TV show, Hannah.
10:53It's not life or death.
10:57I definitely want to enjoy
10:58the last couple of weeks.
10:59It's just, um...
11:01It's hard.
11:04Body's sore.
11:06Mind's gassed.
11:08Yeah, fatigue's setting in.
11:09I don't know.
11:10It's just like
11:11watching that s*** last night.
11:12It's just...
11:14I look like such a f***ing head.
11:17No, you don't, babe.
11:18No, you don't.
11:19You look like someone
11:20who's passionate about what they do.
11:21Yeah, it was a very hard,
11:23emotional morning
11:25for me.
11:30It's okay.
11:30I've had a lot.
11:31Yeah.
11:31We all got you.
11:34We got you, guys.
11:35We got you.
11:36Thanks.
11:36We've had the...
11:37I've had the day.
11:38Yep.
11:38While Han composes herself,
11:40the teams head to the green room
11:41to see the domain listings go live.
11:45Good to see the pictures
11:46on the domain board.
11:48Stunning.
11:49Oh, wow.
11:50Beautiful.
11:50Stunning.
11:51The pics on the domain board
11:52looked incredible.
11:53You deserve all the tens.
11:54Thank you very much.
11:58It was interesting to watch
11:59last night's first episode
12:01and I forgot how fast
12:03it all started to happen
12:05from week one.
12:06Talk to me.
12:07I want to...
12:07Talk to me.
12:08I want to dig a cellar.
12:09You want to dig a cellar?
12:11I want to put a cellar in.
12:13And then for last night
12:14for it to be...
12:15Yeah, it was special.
12:17After watching the episode
12:19last Sunday,
12:19we're going in
12:20and we're going to have some fun
12:21for the next two weeks.
12:22Yeah.
12:23We are going out
12:24with a bang
12:25and we're going to enjoy
12:25every last second.
12:27I just think it's important
12:28for Han and Ken
12:29that they know
12:31that we're all here for them.
12:32Home stretch though, guys.
12:33Home stretch two weeks ago
12:34and then we're going home.
12:35We'll be all right.
12:36We're surrounded by
12:37like the most incredible neighbours
12:39here on the block.
12:41We will carry you through.
12:42We will hug you.
12:43We will love on you guys.
12:45Han and I are on this ride together
12:47and we both get frustrated together
12:49and we feel together
12:50and we get disappointed together.
12:52But I love you to bits.
12:53I love you to bits.
12:54And you're doing amazing.
12:56You've done amazing.
13:01Thanks.
13:04It's too beautiful.
13:04It's the first day of Backyard and Pool Week,
13:21the busiest week on the block.
13:23And the stakes are high
13:25as every team wants to claim
13:27they have the best backyard
13:28come auction.
13:29Landscaping week is probably one of the most important weeks
13:34and if you win Landscaping Week
13:36you've got a really good crack at taking home the competition.
13:40Our blockheads have been working hard
13:42with their landscapers over the past few weeks
13:44to get their plans for their backyards approved
13:46so they can hit the ground running this morning.
13:49They're going to need to make the most of every minute
13:53because come Sunday
13:54they'll deliver some of the biggest backyards we've ever seen
13:58with each one measuring more than a thousand square metres.
14:01From day one we said kitchen and backyard landscaping
14:06is our number one priority.
14:08Best week of the block.
14:09Yeah.
14:09We can't wait.
14:10We can't wait.
14:10Full on week.
14:12Budget is 50k
14:13which is not...
14:15Not enough.
14:17Not at all.
14:17What does 50k get you in the landscaping world?
14:19Three trees.
14:22Pretty much.
14:23This is why Scottie from Taiwan said
14:25start your landscape now
14:26and you need more money.
14:28Yep.
14:29From the beginning of the competition
14:31I encourage teams to save as much money
14:34as they could for landscaping.
14:36This week they'll need to complete their entire backyard
14:39pool area and pool cabana
14:41and they'll also need to make sure
14:43they have enough money left in their budgets
14:45to finish next week's front yard.
14:47Because it was always going to be a hard task
14:52last week ComBank stepped in and offered some help.
14:56ComBank are giving each team
14:58a budget boost of $50,000.
15:02Oh, no!
15:05Oh, no!
15:07Who has the most amount of money at this point?
15:09Who's doing OK with the budget?
15:11I think House 3, Britain Tav.
15:13House 3's probably got the most money, I would think.
15:15They've won a lot.
15:16They won $50,000 in a week.
15:18But then Sonny and Lucia don't really tend to spend much money.
15:21Ben and Emma?
15:22You know, they won the $50,000 for the domain.
15:24$50,000 in cash thanks to domain.
15:28Well, I've done the math
15:29and I can tell you exactly
15:31how much each team is spending
15:33on their backyards.
15:35Em and Ben have allocated the most at $130,000,
15:39which also needs to pay for the wine cellar
15:42they want to present this week.
15:45Britt and Taz plan to spend $100,000.
15:48Sonny and Alicia, $90,000.
15:50Robbie and Matt are spending $70,000,
15:54but they've also won a $50,000 fireplace
15:57and a $50,000 pickleball court
16:00to include in their backyard.
16:03So that leaves Han and Can,
16:04who have the least amount to spend,
16:07just $50,000,
16:09which, according to Taz,
16:11should get them three trees.
16:12It's hard this week.
16:15Dive straight to House 2.
16:18Because the backyards this year are so big,
16:20I'd also suggest that the blockheads
16:22start their landscaping early
16:24to give them the best chance
16:25of finishing on time.
16:28House 3 and House 5
16:29are the only ones
16:30who took me up on this advice.
16:32They've both had landscapers here
16:34for weeks already,
16:35giving them a clear advantage
16:37heading into this week.
16:39So we started landscaping three weeks ago.
16:41All the levels have been done.
16:42All the concrete that we needed
16:43to be poured is poured.
16:46It's going really well.
16:46We're in a really, really good spot.
16:48Quite happy where we're at.
16:50Britt and Taz's landscaper, Troy,
16:52is no stranger to the block,
16:54having been on board
16:55for the past three seasons.
16:58He's known for his modern contemporary style
17:00and has produced some beautiful backyards,
17:04including Tom and Sarah James' winning landscape
17:06back in Gisborne.
17:09It's good to have Troy on board
17:11because he's so meticulous
17:12with everything he needs to get done.
17:13So not only does he do the landscaping side,
17:16the render side of things
17:17and everything like that,
17:18but he'll also get on the tools.
17:19He's a very good project manager.
17:22I reckon we're in a good shape, best spot.
17:25And once you put all these trees in,
17:27the creek through here,
17:28mate, it's next level.
17:29So how we're trying to set ourselves apart
17:31is being very on brief with Dalesford.
17:34So people here love landscapes.
17:36It's all about natural beauty,
17:38sustainability, wellness.
17:40So our house is a wellness house,
17:42so incorporating that into the landscapes as well.
17:45Our plan is to walk out from your back door
17:47through your refresco.
17:48You've got your seating area
17:49around a beautiful stone-cladded fireplace.
17:52You've got a nice little runway of grass.
17:54You turn left and you go to the wellness area,
17:57which is your sauna,
17:58it's your ice bar,
17:59it's your spa,
17:59and then from there,
18:00you've got the tall cabana.
18:02And we have beautiful timber arbors
18:04from trees that have fallen down in the area.
18:06A natural creek runoff.
18:08We have a greenhouse,
18:09chicken coop,
18:10veggie gardens.
18:12It is going to be epic.
18:13The plans are there.
18:15Let's hope we pull it off.
18:17House 3's epic plans
18:18also include an epic amount of plans,
18:21with more than 2,000 trees and shrubs
18:23going into their backyard.
18:25So this morning,
18:26Troy is meeting with Julie from Pope
18:28to talk about irrigation.
18:30As you can see,
18:31the plants are going in this morning.
18:33Yeah, it all looks fantastic.
18:34So we are supplying
18:36a lot of the irrigation kits here for the block.
18:38Amazing.
18:38We're doing the Pope PC drip line,
18:41which is perfect for all this
18:42heavy planting through here.
18:44Yep.
18:44So it's just really easy to use.
18:46You just need to roll it out.
18:48It's got little emitters,
18:49every 30 centimetres long,
18:51which will just emit
18:52an even flow of water.
18:53All the houses this year
18:55will also have a rainbow controller system.
18:57That can be accessed via an app.
19:00So the owners will be able to control
19:01the flow of water
19:02with a touch of a button.
19:04So you can control your irrigation
19:05if you're on the couch,
19:07if you're on holidays,
19:08even overseas.
19:09And you're looking at like 30% water savings
19:11by using a system like this.
19:19Aidan turns up.
19:20Can we go over to your shed?
19:25Yeah, of course, Doc.
19:28I love Aidan.
19:30I think he's a great dude.
19:31I just don't like him
19:32when he comes to my house.
19:36The brief for the sheds
19:37that were delivered last night
19:38was that they couldn't be
19:39a habitable room,
19:41meaning you wouldn't spend
19:42more than an hour at a time in them.
19:44But what Britton Taz delivered
19:47has raised some concerns.
19:49This morning we've been having
19:50a look around with our Britton surveyor
19:51at all the sheds
19:54and he's not terribly happy in here.
19:56And not happy this time?
19:57No.
19:58Why?
19:59It's the fact that it's not
20:01really what we were talking about,
20:02what it was going to be, really.
20:04That's what's in the plan.
20:05We spoke about the plastering,
20:07we spoke about cabinets,
20:09insulation,
20:09and we also spoke about
20:13how the whole thing's presented
20:16in the end.
20:17And, you know,
20:18a block of storage on a plan
20:20compared to a nice stone bench
20:23is a bit of a difference
20:25between having a wine cellar
20:28with a bench
20:29you can have a glass of wine at
20:30and having a flat-out bar.
20:32They thought it was a bar area.
20:33Why would he think that?
20:34Describe this place
20:35to me, please.
20:35This place is like
20:37a shed is
20:37as shed can be.
20:38It's got skylights,
20:40it's got...
20:40It's got floor,
20:42a half-foot floor.
20:43It's got floor-to-ceiling wine.
20:44It's got curtains.
20:45So it's a bar.
20:47Well, it's not a bar.
20:48It's sort of a cellar
20:49but not a cellar.
20:50If we had have seen
20:51a drawing with this big
20:53kitchen bench in here,
20:54I would have said,
20:55you've got no way.
20:57The basic bit is
20:58for us to finish these builds
21:00and get an occupancy permit
21:02for you to be able
21:03to sell it at auction.
21:04We currently
21:06don't have our
21:07surveyor's approval
21:08for this room as it is
21:10so we've got to change it.
21:15What the hell?
21:16Like, we've sacrificed
21:17three months,
21:18you know,
21:19of our lives to be here
21:20at the end of the day
21:21to try and sell the house
21:22to set our young family up
21:23and then for him to say,
21:25well, you can't sell your house,
21:26you're like,
21:27well, what a...
21:27that's why we're here.
21:31So a wine cellar's
21:32not a habitable space, right?
21:33Correct.
21:34So like,
21:34same with the boys,
21:35as an example.
21:36But they've got a wine cellar
21:38with a bench there.
21:39Yeah.
21:40They've got a large amount
21:41of wine being stored.
21:43We're sitting in an area
21:44with a nice big
21:45open kitchen bench
21:46with Skyline.
21:47That's not a kitchen.
21:48That's not...
21:48That's just...
21:49They've got the exact same
21:50stone as us.
21:50Exact same thing.
21:51It's just we're getting
21:52double standards here
21:53because that's not...
21:54I don't think you're getting
21:55double standards here.
21:55Yeah, I reckon?
21:55I don't think you are at all.
21:57Most of that room
21:58is dominated
21:58by it being a wine cellar.
22:01Very little of this room
22:02is about it being a wine cellar.
22:05It's...
22:05It's not a wine cellar.
22:07So if I add more wine,
22:08essentially,
22:09is what you're saying,
22:09I can get some more
22:10custom work made up in there
22:12to put more wine.
22:13So what is it?
22:13So you're telling us a problem.
22:15Yeah.
22:15Okay, we're obviously not builders.
22:16You're the one who's
22:17going to tick off on this.
22:17So what's the solution?
22:19I'm not here
22:19to try and tell you
22:21what to do
22:22or how to do it.
22:23That's your job, right?
22:24You're not telling us
22:25we can't sell it out.
22:26But for me,
22:27for me,
22:28it's more of a bar
22:29than it is a wine cellar, yeah?
22:30If you make it more
22:31of a wine cellar
22:32and not a bar,
22:35then the building's going to go,
22:36okay, cool,
22:37that's a wine cellar.
22:40Why don't you
22:41sketch something up
22:42and we'll get us
22:42available to prove it
22:43but put more detail in it.
22:46Sorry to be the bearer
22:47of bad news.
22:48Oh, something cut.
22:50It just dampens
22:51what is meant to be
22:52one of our
22:53most exciting weeks
22:55in landscaping week.
22:56Like, we've been
22:57looking forward to this
22:58since we started.
23:01It's just so frustrating
23:02because...
23:03Yeah.
23:04Because you try
23:04to do the right thing, right?
23:05And get everything ticked off
23:06when it was
23:07and then for them now
23:08to say,
23:08oh, actually...
23:09Actually, we won't sell you out.
23:10Like, it's just so rubbish.
23:12It doesn't make any sense
23:14and we're just getting together.
23:17I can't wait to go home.
23:19Couldn't agree more.
23:20Yes.
23:20To get even more of the block,
23:29head to Domain
23:29to the latest block listings.
23:31See room reveals,
23:32floor plans
23:33and behind-the-scenes content.
23:35Only on Domain.
23:36So, mid-morning backyard week
23:52and it's quite interesting
23:53to see the teams
23:54that had their landscapers
23:55here weeks ago.
23:55They're coasting.
23:57So, house three
23:57and house five,
23:58they're in a good spot.
23:59But houses one,
24:00two and house four,
24:02they're way behind.
24:03We're walking into this week,
24:09we're feeling confident.
24:10Obviously, we have all this land
24:12but we're so lucky
24:12because we have this huge
24:14seven and a half ton fireplace
24:15and then an 18 by eight
24:18bigger ball court.
24:19No other house has got that.
24:21Robby and Matt's Landscape of Paul
24:23is located in Dalesburg.
24:25He's been on the block once before.
24:28In 2018,
24:29he delivered a winning terrace
24:31for Norm and Jess
24:32at the Gap.
24:32Paul wants perfection
24:35and he's got a really good team
24:38of local guys
24:39and they work really well together.
24:42These guys are incredible.
24:43As soon as they walk out,
24:45that's the shot, isn't it?
24:46Let's make this ridiculous.
24:49So, the vision for this week,
24:50we have a seated lounge area
24:53with the incredible
24:55Trends fireplace.
24:57Behind that,
24:57we have two pools.
24:59We have a pool cabana.
25:02Behind that,
25:03we have our dream court,
25:04pickleball court.
25:06Backyard is an entertainer
25:08and family dream.
25:10Like, the kids will be running around
25:12on the grass,
25:13there's the play pickleball,
25:15jump in the pool.
25:16It's amazing.
25:21As part of Backyards this week,
25:23each team will also present
25:24a pool cabana
25:25that's already been printed
25:27by Contour 3D.
25:30Each cabana includes
25:31a powder room
25:32with a space for a toilet
25:33and sink
25:34and can be styled
25:35however teams choose.
25:36Oh, yeah,
25:37we're going to do a cabana
25:38this week.
25:38What should we do?
25:39In Adelaide,
25:40a cabana is a meat stick.
25:44And for those who know Matt...
25:46No.
25:47Our issue is this room here,
25:48we've got to get that sorted,
25:49so that's going to be Matt
25:50and I,
25:51or my biggest focus this week,
25:52and that will probably
25:52be in the garden with you.
25:53Yeah.
25:54I just grab the pool cabana
25:56and just like,
25:56I'll take charge of this.
25:58It's a very awkward room,
26:00so we're just trying to work out
26:01how we can
26:02get at least
26:04a three-person sauna in here.
26:06I think it'll be the icing
26:06on the cake
26:07for the whole house.
26:08If he can secure the sauna,
26:10Robbie's plan is to include it
26:12on the left-hand side
26:13of the cabana
26:13with a bench seat in the middle
26:15and separate powder room
26:17on the right.
26:19I just spoke to the electricians
26:21and they said,
26:22yeah, we can get some power
26:23to a sauna.
26:24The only other person
26:25I have to get approval from
26:26is Matt
26:26because he won't pull the trigger
26:30on anything risky.
26:31So Matt's
26:33the head of finance,
26:36the keeper of funds,
26:38and I have to run
26:39everything past Matt
26:40because I have
26:41an idea,
26:43spending habit,
26:44which was taken off me
26:45after a couple of weeks,
26:47and Matt's been in charge
26:47of budget ever since.
26:49Oh, hello.
26:50Oh, hello.
26:52I just want to speak to you
26:53about the cabana.
26:57Yeah.
26:58I've spoken to the sauna people.
27:01Best price they can do is $3,000.
27:04Yeah.
27:04I think hold off on
27:06just saying yes just now
27:08until we work out
27:09how much we can actually afford.
27:11We had to rein it in this week
27:15because after we paid
27:17all of our invoices
27:18for the wine cellar,
27:20we don't have as much
27:21to put into the backyard.
27:24Well, what's the other option
27:25if we don't do a sauna?
27:26Furniture or cabinetry
27:28or something like that.
27:32It's wellness.
27:33Yeah, it's wellness.
27:33You need a sauna.
27:34You've also got to pay
27:36for the sauna.
27:37That's the thing.
27:38Yeah, that's your problem.
27:38See, that's...
27:40I think we do it
27:42because if we keep delaying it,
27:43we're just going to run out of ideas
27:44and it's just going to be
27:45a lounge area.
27:47All right, cool.
27:47Let's do it.
27:49Cool.
27:52A lot of our saying
27:54is like,
27:55oh, that's future Robbie
27:55and Matt's problem.
27:57No, that's how you operate, mate.
27:59He didn't want to do the cellar.
28:00Now it's always like,
28:01oh, it's the best idea in the world.
28:02Head in the clouds,
28:06feet on the ground.
28:09Just like the cellar idea.
28:11Let's see what the result is this week.
28:12Let's see.
28:17This is the landscape.
28:18See you boys with JJ and Tyler.
28:20Wow.
28:20Are you going all right?
28:22Yeah, sweet.
28:23Our landscape has arrived Sunday
28:24from Queensland
28:25and started Monday.
28:26We had poured
28:27a little bit of the concrete for it.
28:29Other than that,
28:30we've done no landscaping.
28:31Yeah, so,
28:31yeah, we have a lot to do.
28:35House Falls landscaper,
28:36Dylan,
28:36has some previous experience
28:38on the block.
28:39He's the brother
28:39of ex-contestant Josh
28:41and was on site
28:43helping him and Elise
28:44back in Elstonwick.
28:46Dylan from Jadebilt,
28:47he has organised
28:49all our trees,
28:49all the soil.
28:50Dylan knows his stuff.
28:51Yeah.
28:52As well as their landscaper,
28:53Dylan,
28:54Sonny and Alicia
28:55also work with
28:56landscape designer,
28:57Paul Pritchard
28:58to come up with a plan
28:59for their backyard.
29:02We step off the back
29:03of our alfresco.
29:04We have a hard paved path
29:06all the way down to the pool.
29:07On the right hand side
29:08we have an open air harbour.
29:10Straight ahead
29:10you'll have the pool.
29:11Down over to the right
29:12in our lower section
29:13we have a veggie garden.
29:15Then off to the left
29:15have a bocce court,
29:17the pool house,
29:18fire pit
29:18and then big grassed
29:19area at the back.
29:21So what element of that
29:22is going to set
29:23your backyard
29:23apart from the rest?
29:24I think the openness
29:26of ours.
29:27I don't like the idea
29:28of filling the entire space
29:30just because you have it
29:31doesn't mean that
29:32there has to be
29:33something going on
29:34in every nook and cranny.
29:36We'll start swinging around.
29:37Yep.
29:37Yep.
29:39There it goes.
29:41We know the task at hand.
29:42This week's going to be busy.
29:44The aim today
29:44is to get as many pavers
29:45down as we can possibly.
29:47We've slowed us
29:48start but hopefully
29:49quick to finish.
29:58Being outside
29:59it's a whole new playing field
30:00and just the scale
30:02of this week's room reveal
30:03is ginormous.
30:05The plan is
30:06we've got to do
30:07this whole backyard.
30:09This week we've got
30:10a pretty incredible design
30:12that's been created
30:13by our landscaper, Colin.
30:16Colin draws on his
30:17artistic background
30:18to create his
30:19landscape designs
30:20and he's never been
30:21on the block before.
30:23There's so many trees
30:25forward.
30:25and this is a little job.
30:28We're replanting Baleford.
30:32As you are standing
30:33on the al fresco
30:34you will look down
30:35and there'll be some
30:36little steps on the right
30:38with some bigger landing
30:39steps on the left there.
30:40In the middle of the landing
30:41steps we're going to have
30:41a massive planter
30:43with a beautiful tree
30:44in the middle of it.
30:45So then when you step
30:46off the steps
30:47you'll go straight
30:48onto pavers.
30:48The pavers will
30:50follow down
30:51onto the pool area
30:53where you'll find
30:54the pool cabana
30:55by a picture
30:56to the right of that
30:57with veggie gardens
30:58around there.
30:59This backyard's
31:00point of difference
31:01will probably be
31:02the tree selection.
31:03Yeah.
31:04Plant selection's
31:05like 90% natives.
31:06We're going to have
31:07a lot of trees as well.
31:08Yeah, our landscaper
31:09prides himself on
31:10selecting trees
31:11that suit the area.
31:13You really do want
31:14to be looking out
31:14over your garden
31:15that seamlessly
31:16blends into
31:17the hills behind.
31:19Yeah.
31:20And the other thing
31:21with our house
31:22being so elevated
31:23I definitely think
31:24that that's a real
31:25advantage for us.
31:27It's our main point
31:27of difference
31:28and it's our main
31:29point of difference
31:29to show this week
31:30in particular.
31:31Yeah.
31:33Em and Ben
31:34are hoping to make
31:34the most of this
31:35point of difference
31:36by building a wine cellar
31:37underneath the right
31:38wing of their house.
31:41But with the way
31:41the space is looking
31:42at the moment
31:43they've got a lot
31:44of work ahead
31:45of them
31:45in order to
31:46pull it off
31:46by Sunday.
31:47The cellar
31:48is currently
31:50a concrete slab.
31:52Yeah, it's just
31:52the footings.
31:55Nothing that we
31:55can even give
31:56dimensions for
31:57to start doing
31:58some cabinetry
32:00takeoffs
32:01or designs.
32:02Furniture
32:02or anything.
32:04Yeah, we won't
32:05be able to deliver
32:06the cellar
32:06to the level
32:07of the...
32:08I want to finish
32:09the cellar
32:10to the same
32:10standards as the boys.
32:12As in joinery
32:12and things like that.
32:13Yeah.
32:14The boys delivered
32:15such an incredible
32:15cellar and at the
32:16moment I'm looking
32:17around at our
32:18cellar and it
32:18looks like a mess.
32:21But they started
32:22building their
32:22cellar week one.
32:24They did.
32:26So I've just
32:27got to get on the
32:28phone and try and
32:28find some more
32:29carpenters I reckon.
32:30You need labour.
32:31Find some more
32:32help, yeah.
32:32You've got the cash,
32:33you just need labour.
32:33Yeah.
32:34It just seems a little
32:35bit unachievable
32:36at the moment.
32:37I just don't know
32:38how we're going to
32:38pull it off.
32:39It's the first day
32:50of backyard and
32:51pool week
32:51and the block site
32:52is buzzing with
32:53more than a hundred
32:54tradies working
32:55across all five
32:56houses.
32:57And over in house
33:03two, after an
33:03emotional morning
33:04for Han, Canna's
33:06bringing the
33:06positivity.
33:07I'm feeling excited
33:13to have some fun
33:15with my number
33:16one.
33:18And yeah, it's
33:19landscape week.
33:20Huge week ahead
33:21of us.
33:21Massive two weeks.
33:22We're going to
33:23polish our food.
33:23We're going to
33:24come home strong.
33:25We're going to
33:25make the most
33:26idyllic, beautiful
33:27Japanese zen garden.
33:29I can see some
33:29rocks.
33:30I can see some
33:30dirt and I'm
33:31liking what I'm
33:32seeing.
33:33So before we
33:35even came to the
33:35block, we decided
33:36we were doing
33:37to do a
33:37Japanese-inspired
33:38garden with
33:39Christian Jenkins.
33:40He's an absolute
33:41legend at doing
33:42Japanese zen gardens.
33:44That's the vibe
33:45we're going for.
33:46Christian has been
33:47on the block twice
33:48before.
33:49He was Omar and
33:49Oz's landscaper
33:50back in Gisborne.
33:52And he designed
33:53Mitch and Mark's
33:54winning front yard
33:55in Hampton.
33:57But despite his
33:58experience, he's a
33:59little worried about
34:00the task ahead.
34:02Landscape this whole
34:03backyard in one
34:03week.
34:04Now, I'm just
34:05really nervous.
34:07I feel it's nearly
34:13unrealistic to think
34:15that you could
34:15landscape this whole
34:16backyard in a week.
34:18Anyway, keep calm
34:20and drink tea.
34:24Keep calm and drink
34:26tea.
34:28House 2's Japanese-inspired
34:29backyard includes
34:31sandstone paving to
34:32connect their custom-built
34:33fireplace, pool area,
34:35and pool cabana.
34:36They'll have grass
34:37around the perimeter
34:38and several large rocks
34:39scattered throughout.
34:42And to finish the space,
34:44they're going to build
34:45custom wooden arbors
34:46inspired by traditional
34:48Japanese torii gates.
34:49So torii gates are used in
34:52Japan as an entry to a
34:54sacred place or a
34:56spiritual place.
34:57They're used to separate
34:59zones as well.
35:02So we intend to use them
35:03in our garden to separate
35:05out different zones and
35:07entryways.
35:08Of course the girls are so
35:10low on budget, they're
35:12planning to make the
35:12torii gates themselves
35:14from timber available in
35:15my sawmill.
35:17They've also had to pull
35:19back on some other
35:19plans.
35:20They're no longer able to
35:21have a water feature and
35:23they'll be the only team
35:24without a sauna.
35:25Not having budget, it's
35:27hard.
35:27We all know I'm a
35:28perfectionist, so it's
35:30been really hard for me to
35:31accept that we can't have
35:33the champagne on the beer
35:34budget.
35:35I think, yeah, we're
35:38quite disappointed with
35:39the fact that we haven't
35:40been able to give
35:41Christian a bit more
35:43money to be more
35:44creative.
35:45Anyway, it is what it
35:46is.
35:47Sometimes miracles happen
35:48on a tight budget.
35:49More money, more
35:50problems.
35:54As we reach the end of
35:55the competition, Han and
35:56Can are the only ones
35:58with money problems.
35:59Most of our teams are
36:00running very low on
36:01blockbikes and with a
36:02backyard pool area and
36:04pool cabana to style
36:05this week.
36:06Last night, I had a
36:07surprise for everyone.
36:09Freedom Furniture have
36:11decided to give all of
36:13you $10,000 to spend
36:15in store.
36:15You're back up.
36:16Yeah, good day.
36:18I absolutely love
36:22Freedom, so when
36:23Scotty announced last
36:24night that we were
36:24getting an extra 10k, I
36:26was wasting no time.
36:28Do you want this?
36:32I had seen some pool
36:34furniture that I would
36:35absolutely love.
36:39Do you need it?
36:40I think I need two of
36:42them.
36:42Two.
36:43Perfect.
36:44I got two sun lounges,
36:46got a large umbrella, a
36:47couple of side tables.
36:49I got some lanterns.
36:51Basically everything that
36:52was left in Freedom that
36:53I hadn't bought in
36:54previous weeks.
36:55Yeah, you've done well.
37:04Thank you so much.
37:06Didn't take me long to
37:07spend my money at all.
37:08I've still got some,
37:09actually.
37:10Keeping it in the, uh,
37:11keeping it in my back
37:12pocket just in case.
37:14And how's lunch
37:15going for you?
37:16I'm absolutely starving,
37:17so it's great.
37:20Love chats.
37:20Who doesn't love chats?
37:21Back at the block,
37:30Alicia's tradies are also
37:32breaking for lunch.
37:33I'm on smoke out.
37:35Leave me alone.
37:36I'm on smoke out.
37:36I'm on smoke out.
37:37I'm on smoke out.
37:37I'm on smoke out.
37:38With so many hungry
37:40tradies on site today,
37:41Bunnings are keeping
37:42them fuelled with a
37:43barbecue fundraiser for
37:45a local primary school.
37:47I'm so hungry.
37:47I'm on smoke out.
38:02There's a tree.
38:03How sick is that?
38:05Wow.
38:06In house one with their
38:07first tree now planted,
38:09Emmer and Ben are meeting
38:10with freedom stylist Serena
38:11to discuss furniture options
38:13for this week's spaces.
38:14I'd like to imagine.
38:17I popped together a couple
38:19of mood boards that we can
38:20kind of use as inspiration.
38:22I had a consult with
38:23Freedom and I went crazy.
38:24I picked some sun lounges,
38:28a beautiful bar.
38:29I picked some chairs to go
38:30in the backyard and a few
38:33styling options as well.
38:35Two, do you reckon two
38:36sun lounges?
38:37Two sun lounges.
38:38But after my meeting with
38:40Serena, I could see that
38:42the concrete was all getting
38:43set up ready to be poured
38:44and it just looked like a lot
38:46of concrete, so I mentioned
38:48it to Ben really quickly.
38:50It's all just going to be
38:50paving, that whole thing.
38:52What are we going to put it?
38:56A bit late now.
38:59House one's current
39:00landscaping plans include
39:01a large area of pavers that
39:03will flow down from the deck
39:05to the pool.
39:07The boys had just spent
39:09all morning forming all
39:10this area up.
39:11The truck was like on its way
39:12ready to pour all the concrete,
39:13but it was killing me.
39:14I was like, there's too much
39:15concrete here.
39:16It looks like a skate car.
39:18I know we're pressed for time.
39:19Can we potentially just put
39:21a little patch of not concrete
39:23in there?
39:25Sam suggested putting just
39:27like a big circle in the
39:28middle of it to soften it
39:30with a bit of grass, a bit
39:31of greenery.
39:31If we're going to do it,
39:32we wouldn't need to do it
39:33now.
39:33It just needs a big circle
39:35there, just somewhere there.
39:37Everybody jumped on it and
39:38marked it out, cut it all out.
39:40I'm really sorry.
39:41I know, you're cutting it
39:42for time.
39:46I think it'll look better.
39:48Yeah.
39:48Thank you, everyone.
39:49Love, everyone.
39:50It's Monday afternoon at
40:09Backyard and Pool Week and
40:11concrete has been poured,
40:12paving is going down and
40:14fridges are being stopped.
40:15And over at House 4,
40:19Alicia is escaping the chaos.
40:22What are you doing in there,
40:23Alicia?
40:23You've probably been
40:24shopping online, are we?
40:25Yes, I'm block shopping.
40:27I need a couch and some
40:28furniture for outdoors.
40:31Sonny and Alicia are yet to
40:32win a room.
40:33However, last night they did
40:35score a perfect 10 from
40:36Darren.
40:37Love Darren.
40:39Which means they get a 10
40:41grand cash injection to their
40:42budget.
40:43We've never seen the big
40:46bickies before.
40:47This is new to us and to be
40:48personally delivered our big
40:49bickies, that was pretty
40:50cool.
40:51Look at those bickies.
40:53Big bickies.
40:54That's cash.
40:55Wow.
40:57Thank you, Aaron.
40:58Thank you, Aaron.
40:59Let's talk for a moment about
41:00the luck of a win.
41:01Is it hurting or is it just
41:03something you're rolling with?
41:04We want to win.
41:05Yeah.
41:06We would love a win.
41:07But at this point in the game,
41:10we just...
41:10If it doesn't happen, it
41:11doesn't happen.
41:11There's no point in setting your
41:12heart on it.
41:13This week is your week.
41:15Trying me hardest.
41:16Come on.
41:17Trying me hardest.
41:17Friday, see you.
41:18See you, mate.
41:19Thanks, Scotty.
41:21Has anyone gone through the
41:22block and not won a room?
41:25Yep.
41:30Season 21.
41:32Sunny and Alicia.
41:35We're losers.
41:36We're big, fat losers.
41:37It's Landscape Week.
41:41We've got lots to do.
41:43So, my best mate from Adelaide,
41:45Jordan.
41:48Second best mate.
41:50He's an excavator.
41:52He owns premium excavations in
41:53Adelaide and we have a lot of
41:55soil to move.
41:57So, we called him up and
41:58brought in the big dog.
41:59Oh!
42:00Yeah!
42:01G'day, mate!
42:03How you going?
42:03He's a laugh.
42:09He's another version to us.
42:10We're pretty much like a
42:11tripod.
42:13Don't do some work.
42:15Do some digging.
42:16You are, though.
42:16Yeah, absolutely.
42:17That's what I'm here for.
42:18It was just that sense of
42:19home and relief and, you
42:22know, another face,
42:23chameleon face that we could
42:24use.
42:25And he is a machine.
42:27On the machine.
42:28Yeah.
42:28You need to make some dirt.
42:29Very good.
42:30Dirt.
42:30Dirt daddy.
42:31Well, I've got to get him
42:32into induction at one o'clock
42:33and then once he's done,
42:34he's all yours.
42:35Unreal.
42:35Loving it, man.
42:36Yeah.
42:40Of course, it's the beginning
42:41of Backyard Week.
42:42The facades of the houses are
42:44now starting to take shape.
42:45This series of the block, we've
42:55got three houses where we've
42:57included James Hardy clothing.
42:59Now, the sort of suite of products
43:01allowed us to create individual
43:03looks.
43:04What I've got in the background
43:05behind me, we've got the matrix
43:08board in the darker colour, and
43:10then we've got the linear weather
43:11board.
43:13House five is Boredom Batten.
43:15Now, it's the fourth time we've
43:18done Boredom Batten.
43:19There are so many benefits and
43:20reasons why we've done it.
43:22You know, it's about the
43:23longevity of the house, plays
43:25into our sustainability and
43:27resilience theme for this year.
43:29Stefan John won the series of
43:31the block with a similar look.
43:34Fireproof, weatherproof, termite
43:37proof, and it's going to last a
43:38million years.
43:40House four, we've used the
43:42strenia cladding.
43:43Like, it really sets off the
43:45whole sort of box modern style,
43:47which is what this house is.
43:49Yeah, can't wait to see this
43:50done.
43:51We're so excited that we ended
43:52up with this house compared to
43:53others because I think it stands
43:54out on the block.
44:05So talk to me about the rocks.
44:06Oh, the old rock saga.
44:13So, house two, landscaper, asked
44:17us to store their rocks for them
44:19and we said, no worries.
44:21They just need to be gone by the
44:24end of today.
44:25That was last Thursday.
44:27That was last Thursday.
44:28It's now...
44:29Monday.
44:30Monday.
44:30And now the fences are up.
44:37Last week, the fences by modular
44:39walls started going up, which means
44:42teams no longer have easy access
44:44between each other's backyards.
44:47You know how I got those rocks to live
44:48in next door?
44:49Yeah.
44:49And I still had a few to get around here.
44:53Yeah, you still had like four or five.
44:54You used them in the garden.
44:56I've just seen them then.
44:57They're just, they're boxed up on the
44:58other side right in the concrete.
45:00I just think that's unbelievably
45:02devilish.
45:03When the rocks were there laying next
45:05to each other, you couldn't really
45:06tell which was which.
45:07When the digger operator moved ours,
45:11I think he's picked up a couple of
45:13Christians and put them in our garden.
45:16Actually, I reckon it's really cheeky.
45:17I don't think there was two big ones
45:19of mine that went in there too.
45:20No, no, no, there's not.
45:21No, no.
45:21I haven't got none of your rocks.
45:23I've got natural field granite.
45:24Yours are blue.
45:26They're mine at Hillview.
45:27Yeah.
45:27I've got no Hillview.
45:29I would never contaminate my rocks.
45:31I'd only heard that Christian was
45:32quite the sole
45:34Namaste guy.
45:39He wasn't very Namaste
45:40about his rocks.
45:43There's some in the landscape
45:44that he used.
45:45I think there's four
45:46in the landscape.
45:47It's just so cheeky.
45:48That's okay.
45:49Regardless, they're not getting
45:50shifted now because you can't
45:51get them out.
45:52You can't take an escalator
45:53over all the Rio.
45:56Our point of difference
45:57to the landscape
45:58is these rocks.
45:59Okay.
45:59And now they're
45:59in your landscape.
46:01I was like, bro,
46:01they all look the same to me.
46:04A rock's a rock.
46:05Yeah.
46:05Well, the thing is,
46:06we were lovely enough
46:08to be able to store
46:09your rocks for you guys.
46:10Yeah.
46:10And for longer than the day,
46:12the deal was we would have
46:13the rocks there
46:14until the end of that day.
46:15Yeah, that's right.
46:15And they're actually
46:16still there.
46:17Yeah.
46:17So I think, if anything,
46:18we've been doing
46:19you guys a favour.
46:21Does that entitle you
46:22to use the rocks?
46:23Or someone just had
46:24to grab you?
46:24It's on the land.
46:25That's okay.
46:25We just agree to disagree
46:26and we get on with it.
46:27It wasn't like,
46:28we're stealing these rocks.
46:30No.
46:30It was just like,
46:31they were next to the rocks
46:32of ours that looked
46:33exactly the same.
46:35As I was saying,
46:36our point of difference
46:36are those rocks.
46:37Yeah.
46:38And those rocks
46:39are now in your garden.
46:42Yeah.
46:42Finders keepers.
46:43Yeah.
46:44Losers weepers.
46:45Tough titties.
46:46Monday's MG getaway.
47:02We went to the lake house
47:05at Dalesford.
47:07Wow.
47:08This is amazing.
47:14Luxury.
47:15Luxury.
47:18This is stunning.
47:20Look at this view.
47:24That place is absolutely insane.
47:26Cheers, mate.
47:28Cheers.
47:29Cheers to the celebration.
47:31Celebrating the cellar
47:32and three turns.
47:34And three turns,
47:35obviously, yes.
47:35Off to dinner,
47:36so we were lucky enough
47:37to sit in the library area
47:39with Scotty.
47:41Just because you've got
47:42three tins,
47:42we've got
47:43Beluga Caviar Donuts.
47:45Oh, nothing starts the night
47:46like a Beluga Caviar Donut.
47:49Oh, you don't get that
47:49every day.
47:51That's because you've got
47:52a 30 out of 30.
47:54And then a special guest arrived.
47:58Hey, guys.
47:59How are you?
48:00In comes Dave Franklin.
48:02Yay!
48:03Award-winning landscaper Dave Franklin
48:08first appeared on the block
48:10in 2012.
48:12Over the years,
48:12he's worked with several teams
48:13to produce some amazing landscaping.
48:16And his designs have taken out
48:18the win five times.
48:20Meet the new boss.
48:22In recent years,
48:23he's come on board as a judge
48:25and on Sunday,
48:26he'll be scoring the team's backyards.
48:28I hear you had a big win last night,
48:31so I've got a surprise for you guys.
48:33We had a great week.
48:33Oh.
48:34Oh.
48:34Do you want to do the honours?
48:35And there it is.
48:36$10,000 thanks to MG.
48:39Wow.
48:40Oh, there you go.
48:41We can talk about
48:41what you've got to do
48:42with this $10,000 on your garden.
48:43Show me the plans.
48:44We're pretty lucky.
48:45We're sitting down
48:46with Scotty and Dave Franklin
48:48going over our landscaping plans
48:50for this week.
48:50So that's a huge advantage.
48:52I do love the fireplace.
48:54I think it's, you know,
48:55something that's out of this world.
48:56It's how to make that work
48:58with the pool,
48:59the pickleball court
48:59and everything like that.
49:01He gave us lots of advice
49:02on plants and layout
49:04as well as
49:05we need to put in
49:06some mature trees.
49:08I would be trying to get something
49:09that looks like
49:10it's been here for 10 years.
49:12Okay.
49:12You know, something that tells a story.
49:13Yeah.
49:13Plus block your neighbours out.
49:15Okay, so don't be scared
49:16of buying something
49:16at four or five metres' torque.
49:18When you have someone like Dave
49:20with his years of expertise
49:22and knowledge
49:22giving us a bit of a clearer direction,
49:25that really helped.
49:26Oh, you asked me
49:27to drop this off.
49:27Oh, this I did ask you to do.
49:29That's a footnote for the lake house
49:30and two blocks
49:31with big bickies on that.
49:33Of course, the boys
49:34scored three 10s last night
49:35with a perfect score.
49:3730 out of 30.
49:39They also get
49:40a massive cash injection
49:42to their budget
49:43thanks to Arnott's.
49:44Three lots of 10.
49:4730 grand.
49:49And there's another 10.
49:50Hey, there it is.
49:52Let me just see.
49:52There's no secret gnomes
49:53or anything in here.
49:54No, there's no gnomes, mate.
49:56Cheers, mate.
49:56Congratulations, boys.
49:57Cheers to you.
49:59Well done, guys.
49:59Thanks, mate.
50:00Welcome, Dave.
50:01Thank you, Dave.
50:01Cheers, mate.
50:01Cheers, mate.
50:02We're ordering maccas
50:12for Chump's dinner.
50:13Oh, mac indeed.
50:15I'm thinking like
50:1610 Big Macs,
50:1810 large fries.
50:19How many Chump's dinners
50:20have you guys attended?
50:22How many weeks
50:23have we been here?
50:23We are yet to miss
50:25a Chump's dinner.
50:25I think we are basically
50:26the king and queen of Chump's.
50:28Chump and Chumpette.
50:28Yeah, it's a big day
50:35on Mondays.
50:36You know, you've got
50:36your walk arounds
50:37and then, you know,
50:38some head builder
50:39might come and yell at you.
50:41It's not a wine cellar.
50:42If you make it more
50:43of a wine cellar
50:44and not a bar,
50:46then the building's going to go,
50:48OK, cool, that's a wine cellar.
50:50Did everyone get approval
50:51today from the surveyor?
50:52Because the surveyor
50:53was coming around today, remember?
50:54Like to make sure
50:55the sheds were above board.
50:56The question was asked
50:58about if everyone's compliant
50:59and we just sort of
51:00stayed silent.
51:02As the weeks grow on,
51:04your battery is more drained.
51:05You are more fatigued.
51:07For us, right,
51:08if people are constantly
51:09coming at us,
51:10it does feel personal.
51:11So we're just sort of
51:12pulling back a little bit
51:14to protect our own space
51:15and try and enjoy
51:15these last few weeks.
51:17Provincial and...
51:18And it seems Britt and Taz
51:19aren't the only ones
51:21who are choosing
51:21to be tight-lipped
51:22with their neighbours tonight.
51:24There was some chatter
51:25around secret gnomes.
51:28Yes.
51:29There's definitely
51:30a secret there.
51:31You reckon?
51:32How long have you
51:33had the gnome?
51:34We've had the gnome
51:35since Domain.
51:36So Domain was like
51:37week eight.
51:38So we've found
51:39a secret gnome.
51:41So there's a bonus point.
51:45We don't have it.
51:46The boys could have it, though.
51:47The boys could have it.
51:49I want the gnome.
51:50We're doing a very good job
51:52at playing along
51:54and pretending
51:55that we don't know
51:56even what a secret gnome is.
51:58The secret gnome's different.
51:59You have to say,
52:00hey, Scotty.
52:01We want to play
52:02our secret gnome
52:03and everyone's like,
52:03what?
52:03Oh, really?
52:04Yep.
52:05So we're definitely
52:06going to use the gnome
52:07on fun day
52:07because we can't
52:08use the gnome next week.
52:09The gnome is deleted
52:10after this week.
52:10So we have to play it.
52:14Everyone feeling good
52:15for tomorrow?
52:16I'm excited
52:16for more obstacles
52:18to overcome tomorrow
52:19and, yeah,
52:21like, let's see
52:22what goes wrong.
52:23Yeah, I just can't wait for that.
52:24Who's ripping up
52:25their concrete tomorrow?
52:26Yeah.
52:29Tomorrow night,
52:30the question is answered.
52:32About 10 mil
52:32over 100 mil.
52:33This may have to be ripped up.
52:35Oh, it looks like
52:36we're going to have
52:36to lose all this paving.
52:37Pulling up a slab of concrete
52:39was the last thing
52:40that we wanted to do.
52:41Oh, my God,
52:42are you serious?
52:44Devastatic.
52:48Iceberg!
52:49Dead ahead!
52:50Also,
52:50the backyards
52:51continue to take shape.
52:54It's the biggest wood
52:54on the block,
52:55my arbor.
52:57Now, that's an arbor.
52:58That's huge.
53:01Art, Han, and Ken
53:02struggle to get
53:03on the same page.
53:05Candice has just
53:05snubbed the cabana.
53:07I'm not doing
53:08what everyone else is doing.
53:09And where does that get us?
53:10To the bottom
53:10of the leaderboard.
53:12The cabana
53:12is a cabana
53:13and that is all
53:14it shall be.
53:15Oh, my God, Candice,
53:15you're driving
53:16an absolute bonkers.
53:16Please stop.
53:17Oh, my God.
53:18I've got to...
53:18It's the same thing,
53:18and it's the guy that
53:19is one of the wants to ness neurose.
53:39Is it a man when he can't live like this?
