00:00President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that his administration plans to eliminate a number of government programs as a result of the ongoing shutdown,
00:09adding that he would provide details on job outs with cuts within the next four or five days.
00:14Hundreds of thousands of U.S. federal workers have been ordered not to report to work,
00:19while others have been told to stay on the job during the U.S. government shutdown, which started on October 1st.
00:26Have you identified programs to eliminate under this shutdown?
00:30Oh, sure. Sure.
00:32Which ones?
00:33We have a lot. I'm not going to tell you, but we'll be announcing it pretty soon.
00:36But we have a lot of things that we're going to eliminate and permanently eliminate.
00:40You know, one of the things that we have is some advantage, you could say.
00:44But because of the shutdown, which I think they made a big mistake,
00:47we're able to take out billions and billions of dollars of waste, fraud and abuse.
00:52And they've handed it on a silver platter.
00:55And, you know, Russell Vogt, he's a serious person, very serious person.
01:00And he's sitting there and he's getting ready to cut things.
01:03And this is something that was handed to us by, I assume, Schumer.
01:07I don't I just don't know if Schumer has any power anymore.
01:10I look at your your leadership.
01:13I don't know who to speak to.
01:14I'll tell you what.
01:15I'm getting calls from Democrats wanting to meet.
01:18I never even heard their names before.
01:20And they're claiming to be leader.
01:22The Democrats have no leader.
01:24They remind me of Somalia.
01:27OK, you know, and I met the president of Somalia.
01:31I told him about the problem he's got.
01:33I said, you have somebody from Somalia who's telling us how to run our country from Somalia.
01:38He said, would you like to take her back?
01:40He said, no, I don't want her.
01:43OK, you know who I'm talking about.
01:46How many how many permanent jobs are you talking about?
01:49Well, I could tell you I'll be able to tell you that in four or five days if this keeps going on.
01:54So this if this keeps going on, it'll be substantial.
01:57And a lot of those jobs will never come back.
02:00But you're going to have you're going to have you're going to have a lot closer to a balanced budget, actually.
