00:00Kyler Gordon says that he is back.
00:01No pump fakes.
00:02He will play Monday night for the Bears against the Commanders.
00:07What does a player like him, what is he capable of doing in a defense like Dennis Allen's?
00:14Well, you have to have a slot corner.
00:16It's one of the most important positions in football today, Lawrence.
00:20Someone who can cut off the ball in the run game, match and carry inside, pressure, tackle in space,
00:25and also play man coverage in third and short.
00:26You have to have that player in your defense, and especially someone like Gordon,
00:31who has the transition speed, is physical in coverage, and physical at the point of attack.
00:35It improves your defense dramatically when he's in the football field.
00:39If you go and get to Washington, I wouldn't be surprised if he's in the matchup versus Debo Samuel on third down.
00:44Woo, boy.
00:45That just got the football brain going.
00:49Debo's a beast, isn't he, Matt?
00:51Like that, his hands are so crazy strong, he can do anything fundamentally he needs to do.
00:56He's a great player.
00:58Yeah, and he can play through contact.
00:59That's the most important thing.
01:00Similar to an A.J. Brown, someone that can play through press coverage, win at the top of the route stem
01:05because they are so physical and create separation that way.
01:08You don't have to be, you know, a Keenan Allen, a super detailed route runner
01:11when you have those physical tools that Debo Samuel has when you watch him on tape.
01:15More importantly, in Cliff Kingsbury's offense, he is that motion movement player.
01:19That's a term I use for someone who obviously can win within the router,
01:23but also on fly sweeps, screens, backfield alignments, manufacture touches for him.
01:28So that's someone they really have to account for on Monday night.
