00:14purpose thanks for joining me today's video is gonna be about survival tabs and this video

00:19we're gonna do a giveaway of some of these cool tabs so check it out stick with me actually the

00:24folks at survival tabs were kind enough to send this to me so I can show it to you and if you're

00:28old enough to remember maybe the 60s and 70s and maybe even some older science fiction type movies

00:34and stuff you know that they're always eating a little little food tablets right this was so

00:39survival tabs actually believe or not was was came from the space program so to speak so and what it

00:46says on their lightweight emergency life-sustaining food ration and what these things are now they're

00:50not gonna you're not gonna get fat on these but what they are they're designed to be is have a

01:07record they're not some Johnny come lately let's talk about this we'll take a look at them I actually

01:12had these things taste tested by some Boy Scouts and and some adult leaders on a recent Boy Scout

01:17camp out I'll tell you the results of that taste test but let's talk about this product real quick

01:21let me show you um what they are and then we'll um we'll do a taste test right here on camera you

01:26can see if I make a bad face or not all right well these are the survival tabs and they're calling

01:32themselves the perfect nutrition just in case and they come in four flavors they come in chocolate

01:38vanilla malt butterscotch and strawberry and if you can see the little tablets here they look pretty

01:46much the same you can tell a little bit of color difference in the chocolate one here but they're

01:50available in 24 portion packs 90 portion jars and 180 portion bottles okay so before before we go much

02:01further I want to talk about these tabs a little bit there's one of the tabs and it's we're pretty

02:06high humidity it's been raining out here I said this actually set this on a wet stump it's already

02:11getting a little little sticky it was a kind of dry powdery so once it's exposed to some moisture it's

02:16going to pick it up pretty quickly it's kind of like a sponge but just want to show you that it is

02:20edible kind of um kind of dry but it really doesn't have a try to think what it tastes like it tastes

02:33like this is a chocolate one man you remember now or later like chocolate now or later it's kind of

02:45it's got a good flavor doesn't have any any kind of doesn't taste like cardboard it tastes kind of sweet

02:57chocolatey not too sweet but it's pretty good really um I can't complain now I'm gonna do a

03:05little test these you can see there's a little bit of color difference I don't know which one's

03:08which so just for you I'm gonna eat one of each and we'll see if I can figure out which one it is

03:12because the flavors are pretty distinct and they're all shot them all they're all pretty good but let me

03:17go while I'm chewing this maybe I can talk with my mouthful although I'm not supposed to but you know

03:20and you know and um maybe to keep hurrying things along I can't tell which one it is

03:30I mixed them up I think it might be that one's vanilla malt I think

03:35let me get a drink of water and cleanse my palate we'll try another one okay that was two of them

03:40let's try we got two more here this one got some some ashes on it see what we got there

03:45that's strawberry for sure tastes good I mean I I'm not gonna say they're Jolly Rancher good

03:55but they're good so let's talk about them while I'm chewing here I'll try not to be

04:01too rude um the premise behind these is that you take 12 tabs a day one hour for 12 hours

04:13and that gives you 240 total calories for the day and 100% of a whole bunch of stuff you can pause

04:22the video if you want to see that okay I'm not gonna I'm not gonna bore you but 25 year shelf life

04:30this thing actually has there's the best if used by 2040 now that's obviously unopened so let's try

04:39the last one see if I can tell it is hmm I think the other may have been butterscotch this might be

04:47the vanilla malt my palates not that discerning but I like the fact there's non-gmo okay if it

04:56matters to you gluten-free so many of the survival foods that you see out there they are kind of dry

05:04though I mean so many of the survival foods that you see out there so I got a smoke going here from

05:14fire are filled with um artificial stuff artificial flavors to make them taste better artificial

05:20preservatives to make them last long this is um I mean the ingredients on here it's got a few

05:28artificial flavors in it but for the most part what I can see all the additives are um the additives

05:36are vitamins for your daily if you take 12 of these during the day it gives you nine grams of fat four

05:41grams of carbs and four grams of protein which is not going to be a bodybuilder diet but it may keep

05:46you alive and um so they're good for uh since they're meant to keep you alive and going for 48 hours at a

05:53time so can be stretched to 96 hours in extreme conditions so this is not a long-term survival

05:59live off you know take it out in the woods and live forever on it but and if you you can throw a

06:04pack of these or a bottle of these in your pack if you did get stuck out somewhere for two or three

06:08days you know it'd keep you alive and we came up with a saying for this although they do taste really

06:14good uh the boy scout campout we tried these on we came out with a little slogan maybe we thought

06:19they might want to put on here better than bugs because uh it's definitely better than bugs you

06:25know they're pretty good so um actually the um once you open them they're good for 90 days so as long

06:33as you keep them sealed up like I said they pick up moisture pretty quickly it seems like they get a

06:36little bit sticky but that's just on the outside when I bit into them they were still good and dry

06:40and they're not sweet tart consistency they're a little softer than that but it kind of you know

06:45maybe like a softer sweet tart if you know man we're doing a little candy review here right so

06:51um anyway it says you can take more than the recommended serving but please note the total

06:57days of rations will be affected accordingly well yeah that's a big dub moment right there and

07:01if you got if you got 24 in here this is a two-day pack here so you can put one of these in

07:05in your pack it weighs hardly anything and that'll keep you alive for 48 hours which is um

07:12it's just a good thing to do it's a good thing to have in your emergency kit 25 year shelf life so

07:16you can put a bottle of these things like this big bottle right here in here it's 180 tabs in here

07:22doesn't take up much room you can put a case of these in your emergency survival um rationing or

07:27whatever for for hurricanes or storms or emergencies or whatever your preferred survival scenario is

07:3325 year shelf life they taste good too um they're not you know filet mignon and prime rib but they

07:41taste good so well anyway i'm rambling too much too much bottom line these things are really cool
