30:54era un landslide, and we listened, oh yes, it was close, it was one of the greatest victories
31:00ever, and it was a mandate to do what we're doing, and I hope, and Mark wants this as
31:06much as I do, we are very close to making a deal on the Middle East that will bring peace
31:12to the Middle East, after all of these years of millions and millions, tens of millions
31:18of people being killed, there's a chance to bring peace to the Middle East. In addition
31:22to that, I made seven other deals, and they're, you know, great, and we're, you know, things
31:28are happening with respect to Russia, Ukraine, that's one that last week, Mark, 7,812 people
31:35were killed, soldiers, mostly soldiers, but 7,000, more than 7,000, almost 8,000 soldiers
31:42were killed, it's a crazy, it's a crazy thing, I thought that would have been one of the easy
31:47ones, I get along very well with Putin, and I thought that would have been, I'm very disappointed
31:52in him, because I thought this would have been an easy one to settle, but it's turned
31:57out to be maybe tougher than the Middle East, we'll see what happens with the Middle East.
32:01is the fentanyl crisis over with Canada with the Canadian border? Is what? The fentanyl
32:17crisis. No, it's not over, it's never, I think it's never going to be over, frankly, but they've
32:22done, Canada's worked hard, and they've done a much better job than in the past. We have
32:28very few people coming in through our southern border, too. We've worked with Canada, and
32:33we've worked with Mexico, so we've made it a lot better.
32:36I just, on fentanyl, any amount is too much. So we've gotten it down, it's down substantially,
32:49it's less than 1%, but it's, look, it's still too much, it's too much at home in Canada.
32:52We've got a lot of people.
32:53Yeah, we've got to stand up there.
32:54On Russian, Mr. President, are you, on USMCA, are the two of you both committed to seeing
33:01it through, and the renegotiation of that deal that you made?
33:04Well, we could renegotiate it, and that would be good, or we could just do different deals.
33:08We're allowed to do different deals if we want. We might make deals that are better for
33:12the individual countries.
33:12What's your preference?
33:13I don't care. I want to make whatever the best deal is for this country, and also very
33:18much with Canada in mind.
33:19Go ahead, sir.
33:24Sir, on China, what work can the United States and Canada do together to counter China?
33:33Well, you have to be able to compete. They're a great competitor, and Mark and I both know
33:38that, and you have to be able to compete. We have big advantages over China for lots of
33:42different reasons, and I think we're doing very well with China. I get along very well
33:46with President Xi. I'm going to be meeting him in a few weeks, as you know. I'll be meeting
33:51him in South Korea, but we've had a very good relationship for a long time, but you have
33:56to be able to compete. To do well with China, if you can't compete, you're not going to
34:01do well with China, and Canada is very competitive. I can tell you that. Canada is a very competitive
34:06country, and I think Canada has done very well over the years with China.
34:09Yeah. Yeah, we have, but we'll do better together on that.
34:13Mr. President, on the Middle East, what guarantees are you giving your Arab partners that Israel
34:23will not resume its offensive after the hostages are released?
34:27Well, the primary guarantee is once this deal happens, if it does happen, look, they're
34:31in negotiations right now, we are going to do everything possible. We have a lot of power,
34:36we're going to do everything possible to make sure everybody adheres to the deal.
34:40Mr. President, are you concerned about the delays at airports, and how do you see this
34:47shutdown in India?
34:48Oh, sure. I mean, they're all Democrat delays. There are delays at the airport. That's standard.
34:53And again, this is something that we've, every day we put forth a bill. It's just a continuation.
34:59It's a very simple thing to sign and very simple to do. And I really think that these
35:04are people that I think they have nothing to lose. They have a party that's out of control.
35:09They have no leader. Nobody knows who the leader is. I look at people with very low IQs, like
35:14Crockett, this woman Crockett. I never met her. But she's a low IQ individual. I look at
35:19AOC talking about how, if they want to negotiate, they can come to my office. She's not in that position
35:26to do that. And who the hell is she to say that? And then I watch Nancy Pelosi not knowing
35:31what to do. I watch, I watch their leadership. Look, Schumer is petrified of a primary because
35:37he's not going to win probably against anybody in a primary. You know, Schumer did the right
35:42thing, but he handled it badly originally a year ago. He did probably the right thing,
35:49but he handled it badly. I think Schumer is incapable of making a deal. They are a mess. They're
35:55a party that has no leadership. They have, and they have no policy. You know, we have
36:01great, we have great, I think we have great leadership, but we also have great policy.
36:05We have strong borders. We have no men and women's sports. We have, I mean, basic things.
36:11We're not, we're not going to take your child away and change the sex of your child. We're
36:17not going to do things like that. What they're doing to the country is so incredible. And they
36:22got away with it with all their woke crap, and now it's stopped. And we have a country
36:27that's based on common sense and strength and intelligence. I mean, we have the United
36:34States of America, and I say it, I say it all the time. Other leaders have told me this.
36:38Mark hasn't yet, but I think he would. A year ago we were a dead country, and now we are the
36:44hottest country anywhere in the world. Maybe Canada, I'll give Canada, because I do like
36:49Canada. But, you know, we're the hottest country in the world right now. There's never been
36:53a country that has the kind of money coming into it. There's never been anything like this.
36:57There has never been a country that, if you take a trillion dollars, that would be unbelievable.
37:03We're going to have over 20 trillion dollars invested in this country. There's never been anything
37:09like what you're seeing. And it's based on good policy and common sense and leadership.
37:14Mr. President, what is Canada giving you in return? If you say Mr. Carney is going to
37:23be leaving Washington happy, what's Canada giving you in return?
37:25Well, you'll find out. But I think the people of Canada, they will love us again. Most of them
37:31still do. But if you say only 25 percent, I assume a lot of them. I think they love us.
37:38And you know what? I'm not, I'm not the biggest hockey fan, but I like it a lot. And I watched
37:49some of the greatest hockey games I've ever. How good were those games, right?
37:53Yeah, very good. We're coming down for the World Series, Mr. President.
37:56Mr. President, will you sign a trade deal with Canada that doesn't include supply managed
38:11goods like dairy, for example? The federal government said that's off the table.
38:14Mr. Well, the deal won't include dairy. I mean, it's going to include everything. We'll
38:17do a conference. Have you identified programs to eliminate under this shutdown?
38:25Mr. Oh, sure. Sure. Which ones?
38:28Mr. We have a lot of them. I'm not going to tell you, but we'll be announcing it pretty
38:30soon. But we have a lot of things that we're going to eliminate and permanently eliminate.
38:35You know, one of the things that we have is some advantage, you could say. But because of the
38:40shutdown, which I think they made a big mistake, we're able to take out billions and billions of
38:46of dollars of waste, fraud and abuse. And they've handed it, you know, on a silver platter.
38:51And, you know, Russell Vogt, he's a serious person, very serious person. And he's sitting there and
38:56he's getting ready to cut things. And this is something that was handed to us by, I assume,
39:02Schumer. I just don't know if Schumer has any power anymore. I look at your leadership,
39:08I don't know who to speak to. I'll tell you what, I'm getting calls from Democrats wanting to meet.
39:12I never even heard their names before. And they're claiming to be leaders. The Democrats have
39:18no leader. They remind me of Somalia. Okay? You know? And I met the president of Somalia. I told
39:27him about the problem he's got. I said, you have somebody from Somalia who's telling us how to run
39:31our country. He's from Somalia. He said, would you like to take her back? He said, no, I don't want her.
39:37How many permanent jobs are you talking about? Well, I can tell you, I'll be able to tell you
39:47that in four or five days, if this keeps going on. If this keeps going on, it'll be substantial.
39:53And a lot of those jobs will never come back. But you're going to have, you're going to have a lot
39:59closer to a balanced budget, actually. Is there anything the Prime Minister has done
40:07that's making it more difficult to reach a deal? Say it. Is there anything the Prime Minister
40:11has done that's making it more difficult or easier to reach a deal? No, these, I think he's a great
40:16Prime Minister. I mean, he could represent me anytime. I will tell you, you know, I'm not saying that.
40:20No, he is a very strong, very good leader. He's a nice man, but he could be nasty. He could be very
40:28nasty. Maybe as nasty as anybody. How? I think, I think Canada, let me put it this way. I can tell
40:35you this because I deal with lots of leaders all over the world. He is, he's a world-class leader.
40:42He's a man that knows what he wants. And I'm not surprised to see that he won the election and won it
40:48substantially. And I'm, I would think he's more popular now. He's a good man. He does a great
40:53job. And he's a tough negotiator. So then what's holding things up? If he's a great man and you want
41:03to do a deal with Canada, why aren't you? Because I want to be a great man too. Thank you very much.
41:16Thank you very much.
41:46Thank you.
