Sunderland super-fan George Forster got over 300 birthday cards.

00:30It started years before, when the supporters didn't have any contribution other than being there.

00:41Right.

00:42And it was his intention.

00:44He was really friendly with one of the directors.

00:49And so we got the Black Cat Club.

00:53And it was a big success.

00:54They kept part takings and we did the rest.

01:05Do you still get the games?

01:07Do you still go to any of the games?

01:08I understand you were at Wembley, weren't you, for the playoff final victory?

01:13The owners, well, the shareholders, I would think, refused to...

01:22There was Joanne, she said, if you've got to go on.

01:29Because I could have sat in my seat and seen it in their home.

01:37But it was a big trip.

01:41Are you pleased to see us back in the Premier League?

01:45I am, but we've got to, you know, there'll be ups and downs as long as we'll stop there.

01:56You know, I look at the right man for the job.

02:01But I asked him if I could see him.

02:04And he said, I'll give you two and a half minutes.

02:12And that's it.

02:14Okay then, Jimmy.

02:15George is 99 today.

02:16So why was it important for you to come along and help him celebrate his birthday?

02:21Well, I've known George since I first got down to the ground in 1959.

02:27So we go back a long, long way.

02:30And I used to go into the shop at the Old Rocker Park.

02:37From the very first day I went there, you know.

02:40And we had a great relationship all the way through the years when I'd moved, the shop moved.

02:47And I used to start to the week chief.

02:52I used to go in there and see him quite regularly as well.

02:55And, you know, he's always been a fantastic supporter of the club.

03:00Anything you could do for the club, he's done it.

03:03And it's just fantastic to come here and see him today on his 99th birthday.

03:10And obviously, well loved with all the cards he's got there.

03:13Yeah, he's got over 300 cards.

03:15We were hoping to get 100.

03:17I think we've managed to get about 300 with more to come.

03:21So, you know, unbelievable.

03:22But that's what he means to people.

03:25Not just Sunderland, but he's got them from all over the world, you know.

03:30And that's what people think about him, you know.
