00:00So Pamela, how do you feel to be named as the new council leader?
00:03Very excited, Mark. Delighted to have been given the opportunity and I look forward to working with partners and council offices and other elected members to drive the town forward over the next few years.
00:17And what are your key priorities going to be?
00:20Three key priorities. Number one is to keep money in our family's pockets by following through on our promise to freeze council tax.
00:30And number two is to work to clean up our communities and clean up the town, working with you, the community, working with organisations and residents for everyone to play their part to do that, led by the council with some investment.
00:44And number three is to bring to fruition a lot of the key regeneration projects in Hartlepool.
00:52We need to get Highlight open, we need to get the Wesley open, we need to start the work on Middleton Grange with the Development Corporation,
00:59and we need to begin the work of regenerating the Church Street area with the Production Village.
01:05So exciting times ahead.
