00:00Hi, I'm Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., your HHS Secretary.
00:04Let me ask you something.
00:06Should doctors make decisions based upon what's best for their patients
00:10or based upon what makes them the most money?
00:13It's not a tough question, but we've inherited a health care system
00:17that constantly pushes doctors toward the latter.
00:21It rewards certain treatments, not because they're better for the patient,
00:25but because someone profits.
00:27Take what happened during COVID.
00:29If hospitals were paid to report staff vaccination rates,
00:33those numbers were fed into the National Health Care Safety Network,
00:37then published on the CDC website to shame any hospital
00:41that refused to become an enforcer of federal vaccine mandates.
00:46Today, I'm proud to announce we've eliminated that policy
00:49by repealing a dangerous Biden-era provision in the CMS inpatient payment rule.
00:55And we're not stopping there.
00:57We're scanning every corner of the health care system for hidden incentives
01:01that corrupt medical judgment.
01:04What we're finding is alarming.
01:07Doctors are being paid to vaccinate, not to evaluate.
01:10They're pressured to follow the money, not the science.
01:14We've recently uncovered that more than 36,000 doctors had their Medicare reimbursements altered
01:20based upon childhood vaccination rates.
01:23That's not medicine.
01:24That's coercion.
01:26It's immoral.
01:28It has no place in a constitutional democracy or in a system that claims to protect children.
01:35Medical decisions should be made based upon one thing and one thing only,
01:39the well-being of the patient, never on a financial bonus or a government mandate.
01:45Patients deserve honest, uncorrupted advice from their doctors.
01:50Doctors deserve the freedom to use their training and to follow the science
01:54and speak the truth without fear of punishment.
01:58Doctors should be guided by medical judgment and their hypocritic oath,
02:01not by financial incentives or government mandates.
02:05That's what this policy change is about, and it's just the beginning.
02:09Thank you very much.
