00:00Gen Z pop stars Tate McRae and Kid Leroy have officially broken up and are now engaging in
00:04full-on pop song war, both writing scathing diss tracks about each other that just dropped.
00:09Let's go through the lyrics and see how they blamed each other in these songs and
00:12whose revenge song was better. Tate and Leroy were confirmed to be dating in April 2024.
00:17They were taking over the world. He had big hits, she has big hits. They were a match made in pop
00:21star heaven, but unfortunately were thought to have broken up for the first time in July 2025
00:26after over a year of dating. This is around the time that he was seen with the Love Island girls
00:30Iris and Hannah and the public didn't know they were broken up or on a break at this point,
00:34so everyone thought he was shady, questioned if he was cheating, but it turns out they were just
00:37there to promote his new music video for his song Hot Girl Problems. But then the gag is when he was
00:42promoting Hot Girl Problems, a lot of disparaging tweets about Tate McRae popped up and fans started
00:47tracing it back to Kid Leroy, wondering if he hired these people to purposely tweet bad things about
00:51her to promote his song, which he vehemently denied in this tweet here and said that him and Tate were
00:55on good terms, but at this point it doesn't look like they were dating. Now there was rumors they
00:59almost got back together at the VMAs in September because they were seen walking around together
01:03backstage, but apparently all hope for this was lost when Kid Leroy dropped his diss track against
01:07Tate titled A Cold Play on September 5th. Now I couldn't help but think that title is a reference
01:11to Cold Play or the cheating incident that happened at a Cold Play concert, and I'm like, is he accusing
01:16her of this? The song in itself is very backhanded and condescending. He's blaming himself for the
01:21breakup, but he's only blaming himself because he said he couldn't fix Tate, who's the real problem.
01:26We know it's about Tate because he sings, I still love you, that's how I feel at my core,
01:29I flew between different states to see you on tour. And this is straight man gaslighting here to the
01:33extreme. He sings, it will always be easy to blame you, but it's my fault for thinking I could ever fix
01:39you. So he's claiming Tate McRae needs fixing everyone. And then he had a line insinuating that Tate is the
01:44one that wanted the breakup because one time she told him that they should have just stayed friends and they
01:48could have saved all these tears in all these years. But Tate was not having it. She released
01:52her iconic diss track on September 26th called Tit for Tat. She sings about how she was willing to
01:57get back with him, but now that he's putting her on blast, she's not going to. She sings,
02:00tonight I might love you again, we'll see how I feel, but now that you're acting like that,
02:04I never will. And then she maybe accused him of doing a little Cold Playing himself,
02:08where she sings, last night she answered my call, it sealed the deal. She being maybe another girl.
02:14And then in the best line where she's clapping back to LaRoy saying that she needs to be fixed,
02:18she needs to be fixed. She says, let's go song for song. Let's go back to back. Fix your fucking
02:23self. Kiss my ass for that. And then she literally said his diss track was bad. She said, that's the
02:27best you got. Where's the good one at? So I think it's safe to say Tate won this. What do you guys
02:31think? And then Patty, we trust.
