00:00Baltimore Ravens, you and I talked a lot about this game together on Sunday.
00:03We did.
00:04Because the Texans were picked in a game that they should absolutely roll in.
00:11And they rolled.
00:1244-10.
00:14And the story is not, hey, should we bet some Houston futures, though,
00:18secretly, quietly, maybe off air I'll talk to you.
00:21I'm interested.
00:22But not right now.
00:24How concerned do the AFC North favorites right now?
00:30Baltimore Ravens, how concerned should they be?
00:33Very.
00:33Because, again, the issue is not just the fact that Lamar Jackson is not playing in the offense.
00:40This is a defensive issue that they can't stop anybody.
00:45Right.
00:46And you're talking about one of the worst offenses that we've seen in Houston.
00:50I mean, this wasn't a juggernaut putting up 35 points per game.
00:55They were struggling to score points.
00:57Yeah.
00:57Right?
00:57C.J. Stroud was not the same quarterback.
01:00He wasn't throwing the football consistently to his wide receivers,
01:03Nico Collins and Xavier Hutchinson.
01:05All of a sudden, they have a breakout performance yesterday because that defense for Baltimore
01:10is basically gutless.
01:12That's what they are.
01:13Yeah.
01:13They can't stop the run.
01:14They're getting abused in the passing attack.
01:16They have no identity.
01:17They're not opportunistic, playing terrible third-down defense.
01:21You tell me, even if Lamar comes back, is their defense going to shore up and they're going
01:26to be a top-10 unit the rest of the way?
01:28Absolutely not.
01:29So, this falls on John Harbaugh.
01:31This falls solely on the coaching staff.
01:35Look, I ripped Mike McDaniel for not being able to get the football to Jalen Waddell and Tyreek
01:40Hill last year when Tua was out.
01:42And, oh, by the way, he should have been fired after that performance yesterday.
01:45We're going to get more into it.
01:46Go ahead.
01:47But I'm just saying.
01:48Oh, I got you.
01:48John Harbaugh, without his star, is supposed to be a special team's defensive wizard for
01:54the most part, right?
01:55Mm-hmm.
01:55Physicality.
01:56Where's the defense?
01:58Where's the defense?
01:59The Giants' defense is better than the Baltimore Ravens.
02:02I mean, the Saints' defense is better right now than the Baltimore Ravens.
02:07Take any garbage team in the NFL.
02:09They're better than the Ravens.
02:11This team is pathetic right now.
02:13Pathetic.
02:14You're absolutely right.
02:17The way that they just got steamrolled in that game.
02:21They quit, too.
02:23Well, I mean, yeah, right.
02:24They were set up after a big Zay Flowers play for that touchdown, right, where Derek
02:28Henry was able to get into the end zone.
02:30Here's my thing.
02:32Next week, the lines are out.
02:35It's a seven-and-a-half-point line in Baltimore in favor of the Rams.
02:39That tells me no Lamar, right?
02:41Yeah, absolutely.
02:43So then they hit the bye, and then we have week eight.
02:46It seems to be the consensus Lamar will be back.
02:49Okay.
02:51Before we get to the rest of the schedule, it's a hamstring injury for the most
02:56athletic quarterback in maybe football history.
02:59Are you sure he's back week eight?
03:01No.
03:02Because that's what I keep coming back to, Joe.
03:03And we keep going back to the Mike Evans hamstring that always pops up.
03:08Is he ever 100%?
03:09No.
03:10And he always seems that he tweaks it throughout the –
03:12Still 1,000, though.
03:12Right?
03:13Yeah.
03:13But my point is this team needs to change their defensive scheme with the
03:19players that they have.
03:21Otherwise, they're not going anywhere.
03:23Without Lamar, they're not going anywhere, Kev.
03:25So they're not beating Buffalo.
03:27They're not beating KC.
03:28They're not beating maybe the Steelers at this point because you got to give
03:32Steelers credit.
03:33They're at the top of the AFC North, okay?
03:36They're not beating anybody else that is a winning football team.
03:40They're not beating Houston the way Houston is playing defensively right now.
03:44So who are they beating in their conference?
03:48Nobody.
03:49It's funny, and I think you're doing a really good job of hitting on, in the way
03:53I was talking about, Buffalo and Philadelphia, the Ravens were the preseason
03:56Super Bowl favorites, so none of this matters.
03:58I, though –
03:59One more.
04:00Are they beating the Indy the way they're playing?
04:03No, I think you're totally spot on.
04:04Here's what I –
04:05Jacksonville?
04:06No, but here's what I wanted to say.
04:07Again, like the Eagles and the Bills, the Chiefs, the Lions, the Packers,
04:11it's like they're going to be in the playoffs, right?
04:12But Baltimore, we don't know.
04:14I think we don't know if they're going to be in the playoffs.
04:16Here's what keeps standing out to me.
04:17If we can pull up the Ravens' schedule again.
04:19Yeah, let's throw the Rams game out.
04:21Let's throw the Bears game out.
04:23Joe, Dolphins, dead in the water.
04:27Vikings, I don't know what's going on.
04:29Browns, come on, they're terrible and we all know it.
04:31Jets.
04:31Jets, woof.
04:33Cincy, don't get me started.
04:34Pittsburgh, anybody believe in them?
04:36They're going to make the players.
04:37Cincy again.
04:37The last three are tough.
04:40Here's my thing.
04:41If Lamar Jackson can get back by week nine, they might be one and six,
04:51and I might be ripping playoff tickets on this team.
04:53Just like Cincinnati was last year.
04:55I'll see you next year.
