00:00Welcome back to Vannaways, I'm Lewis and today we're taking a look at the all-new Renault Master
00:04E-Tech. This fully electric panel van combines real-world range, clever practicality and a
00:10premium driving feel, meaning the new Master could be the upgrade your fleet's been waiting for.
00:16Let's jump in and see whether it deserves the crown of Van of the Year 2025.
00:30This fourth generation Master has been praised for its ability to accommodate various powertrains
00:37including diesel, electric and hydrogen options. This electric version has been redesigned from
00:44the ground up. Under the bonnet there's a 100% electric motor pushing out 141 horsepower and 300
00:52newton meters of torque, delivering strong, quiet performance whether you're on urban drops or
00:58longer motorway runs through an automatic gearbox. You've got a range of up to 285 miles WLTP
01:05depending on spec and DC fast charging up to 130 kilowatts, means 80% in under an hour.
01:14From the side the new Master keeps a familiar silhouette but every panel's been sculpted for
01:20better aero and efficiency. It's available in multiple wheelbase and roof height options. That
01:26makes it one of the most spacious electric vans on the market. Perfect for couriers, trades and
01:33conversions alike.
01:34Round the back is where the Master really earns its stripes. It offers over 1600 kg of payload
01:41and up to 2.5 tons towing so you're not sacrificing on work ready muscle. Wide opening rear doors and
01:48a low step height make loading a breeze and it will take Euro pallets with ease thanks to its flat floor
01:56and square layout. Renault's also thought about operator comfort with features like LED lighting in the load
02:03bay and multiple tie down points to keep your gear secure on the move. Inside the cab the Master E-Tech
02:10we've got a serious step up. We've got the 10 inch infotainment system, it comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto
02:17and I also like the fact that it's slightly facing towards you just for ease of use and also makes it easier to see
02:25when you're trying to focus on the road. And then behind the wheel, directly in front of me, we've got the digital
02:30drivers display. On this we've got our speedometer, we've got our battery percentage, so at the moment we're sitting at 36% and we've got 76%
02:39miles left, probably needs a little bit of a recharge. We've also got how much battery we're saving, we've got different
02:47driving modes and yeah they've kept it relatively simple, which actually I'm a really big fan of. Now as well as all of the
02:56amazing technology in the van, I feel like Renault have smashed it with the simple things, like even the seats, you know there's
03:03quite a lot of leg room in here. The seats are really comfortable and they do come with an armrest as well.
03:11So yeah, if you are a crew of three looking to travel to jobs or whatever, even if it's cross country, there would be easily enough room for all three of you in there.
03:22It's a far cry from the vans of old and built with everyday comfort in mind whether you're behind the wheel for 20 minutes or hours.
03:30Renault's gone big on ease of use with a car like driving position, smooth gear shifting, which is actually located behind the wheel here and it also has clearly laid out controls across the whole cockpit of the van.
03:45Safety tech is strong too, including emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and a 360 degree camera on top trims.
03:55There's even a dedicated EV driving mode selector to help maximise range or boost performance when needed.
04:02So in front of me is the steering wheel. You know, it's very nice, multifunctional. You've got, you can answer calls, you can change songs, you can set cruise control, you can select what mode you want to drive in.
04:14There is loads and loads of stuff on the steering wheel. Again, Renault just making it really easy to use.
04:21Now what I like about the Renault master is that they've kept everything really simple. So there's not many buttons below the infotainment system.
04:31You've literally just got your air con controls, which are crucial, especially in the hot weather that we've recently have.
04:38You know, you've got your hazard lights, locking buttons, and then again, driving mode select. So they have kept it really simple and I'm a really big fan of it.
04:49So storage wise loads of storage in the front of the van, as well as the back.
04:54You know, we've got a few cup holders, side door storage. There's also a little bit of overhead storage, which you can keep important documents or whatnot.
05:04Hold off your phone. And then we've also got the glove box down here with more storage above it.
05:12So yeah, they've smashed the storage part of the van. Absolutely, absolutely fantastic stuff.
05:19As well as all the standard storage units, there is also some hidden under seat storage, which if I pull this out, you've got under here, you've got your van charger, which can be crucial.
05:31But then there is also, if I put that back down, another one in the middle, and there is a lot of room in there.
05:39That's probably like the boot space of a smart car.
05:42Here are Vanuay's top five features of the Renault Master E-Tech.
05:46285 mile range, big mileage potential, no tailpipe emissions.
05:51High payload and towing, over 1.6 tonnes payload and 2.5 tonnes towing capacity.
05:58Premium cabin tech, Apple CarPlay, digital dash, uncomfortable seats.
06:04Massive cargo options, up to 17 cubic metres of space, flat floor and easy access.
06:11Fast charging, up to 80% charge in under an hour.
06:16To sum it up, the Renault Master E-Tech proves that going electric doesn't mean compromising on capability.
06:22It's smart, spacious, refined and ready for the modern road, whether you're running a single van or a full fleet.
