00:03It's always the same question, but all of the modern cars are now.

00:12If I buy a bagu, it's okay.

00:25Hi everyone, my name is Makoy Dubs.

00:27I am a content creator but also doing automotive reviews and I'm a car enthusiast.

00:39So this is the 1993 Honda Prelude VTEC.

00:42Initially, I was looking for a Honda Integra.

00:45So I posted on Facebook around September 2024.

00:49Initially, mahirap talagang makakuha ng stock and fresh na Integra.

00:54Orrick Goh commented that he has a friend na nagbibuild ng Honda Prelude.

01:01And then ako naman, sabi ko, wow, why not?

01:05Because the Prelude is actually an iconic car from the Gran Turismo one sa PlayStation.

01:12So it's a childhood dream car came true.

01:15It's really considered as major glow up because yung process of restoring the car was very intensive.

01:27Pinakanahirapan kami would be the suspension bits kasi it was never launched here in the Philippines.

01:34Talagang we restored everything from the rims, of course yung mga trims niya, getting a surplus engine.

01:46Initially, stock muna talaga because I want to experience the car for a year na OEM lang siya all the way.

01:53The car has been with me for almost 3 months na rin eh.

01:58And may mga gusto na rin akong palitan, if ever, na parts.

02:02Oh wow, interesting!

02:08Initially, I'm not really keen to get a Type R.

02:13Because number one, I don't know how to drive a manual.

02:16Number two, it's quite expensive, diba?

02:19It was because of the Japan Mobility Show when Honda invited us to be there to join the media contingent.

02:28And then, I saw the Type R in Aoyama.

02:31Sumakay ako and then it felt good.

02:34I said, I like this car.

02:37And then, when I came back to the Philippines, I called the bank and then I asked for a pre-approval.

02:43Talagang hindi ko naman gusto, pero na-in-love na rin ako eh.

02:47I think for me, what resonates with me the most with the brand is, of course, the prowess in terms of engineering.

03:00And I believe the manufacturer is an engine builder.

03:05It's an engine company first and then it just trickled down to certain products like cars, motorcycles, and power products.

03:14For me, it's the engine.

03:16It's high revving, it's easy to maintain, and as long as you have the parts, you can do anything.

03:23Ako may pagka-purist, so as much as possible, I want to keep it classic, to keep it original.

03:37Minsan kasi may mga parts na ang hirap hanapin eh.

03:40So, mapipilitan ka na rin hindi mag-stick doon sa OE brand, no?

03:45As long as the form and function still usable for daily driving or depending on how you will drive the car,

03:54I would like to keep it classic pa din.

04:01The important aspect when it comes to collecting is emotional connection with the car.

04:06The Honda Prelude, kaya ko siya kinuha.

04:10It's because it's my childhood dream car.

04:13For me, the nameplate is underrated.

04:16Not everyone likes the Honda Prelude.

04:19Not everyone recognizes Honda Prelude.

04:22It's all about emotional connection, but also rarity.

04:27Kasi iilan lang din naman ang nagkaroon ng Honda Prelude dito sa atin.

04:32I'm really hoping that Honda Cars Philippines decides to bring the sixth generation Honda Prelude.

04:40And I think it would be fitting and it will be a dream come true to have the fourth generation and also the upcoming sixth generation.

04:50If there could be only one, it would be the Porsche 911.

04:59For me, Porsche 911, of course, we all know that it's the quintessential sports car talaga.

05:05I like to have one because it's all in one.

05:08You can daily it, it's comfortable, but also you can race it sa track.

05:15And if you want to be one with yourself and of course discover new roads, I think the Porsche 911 would be a great addition to the lineup.

05:26It all started in 2021 when I started posting contents about my Honda Civic because technically that was my first car, the Honda Civic FC.

05:41The PR person from Honda Cars Philippines reached out to me on Instagram and then asked me if they can lend out models for review.

05:52And then eventually Toyota also came in and then so on and so forth, ma-attend lang ako ng events.

05:58And then yun, nagkakaroon na ako ng lendouts.

06:01The funny part of being in the local car community or the fun part of it is you'll be able to meet different kinds of car people.

06:14There are purists, there are into modifications, meron din naman talaga respect the build type.

06:22There's the one din naman na my car, my rules type kind of person.

06:29You help each other to find parts, diba?

06:32Oh, this part galing dito, you can buy this part, yun yan.

06:36I like the sense of inclusivity rin for this community kasi I never felt discriminated being me.

06:49For me, observation is very important when it comes to getting ideas, observation and nuances from other people.

06:58Yung authenticity part, nandun siya.

07:01Hindi siya mawawala doon kasi first-hand, na-experience ko siya.

07:06So nagkaroon ako ng ganitong klaseng boss, ganitong klaseng auntie.

07:11For me naman, my experience as a car enthusiast, you also get inspiration from the ones na tumutulong din sa'yo mag-build ng kotse.

07:21To be quite honest, at first, meron.

07:28May mga naririnig ako na, ba't nandyan siya?

07:32Bahilig ba siya sa kotse talaga?

07:34Meron talagang hindrance.

07:36Meron talagang parang, it's a closed door situation.

07:41Pero, along the way, I've learned how to adapt din eh.

07:45And you will meet people along the way who really understand you as a person.

07:50And I believe naman, sa community, marami rin mahihilig sa automotive, sa motorcycles.

07:57What's very important to me is, you know, yung inclusivity eh.

08:02So, along the way, naramdaman ko naman na welcoming din.

08:05And then, lalo na pagka pumupunta ako ng car meet, wala namang ano, nawala naman ah.
