00:00Let me bring up that Thursday night game, actually.
00:03You tell me if I'm overreacting.
00:05I think it's maybe the biggest win we've seen all season.
00:08The Niners, Joe, with that win,
00:10the only teams with better odds to make the playoffs,
00:14entering today, Buffalo and Philly, the two 4-0 teams.
00:17They've now beaten every single team in the division.
00:20They've beaten the Rams and the Seahawks on the road.
00:23They're 4-1.
00:24They only have two remaining games
00:26against teams above 500 that are not in their division.
00:30There's a lot of football that still has to be played.
00:33I think San Francisco has set themselves up now where,
00:37look, I don't know where all the chips will fall
00:38within a very good NFC West,
00:40but I can't see it where all the Niners don't play playoff football.
00:42No, I mean, again, I took a wait-and-see approach.
00:47I liked Arizona to win the division.
00:48I thought maybe potentially San Fran would fall off a cliff
00:51with all the unknowns, and all they do is win.
00:55And that was a quality win on the road
00:57against a divisional opponent that beat their ass two times last year, right?
01:02And had the better quarterback advantage heading into that matchup.
01:05And Mac Jones outplayed Matt Stafford.
01:07And that offensive line protected him, and those backups made place.
01:11And Kendrick Bourne seems to have this great relationship with Mac Jones.
01:15And again, Christian McCaffrey's not putting up huge numbers in the rushing attack, right?
01:20They're not running the football consistently.
01:22It's been the aerial attack, and their only loss came to Jacksonville.
01:27I mean, Jacksonville's a very good football team right now.
01:31I buy in that they're going to be, at worst, potentially a 10-7, 11-6 team,
01:37and they're going to be on the door, obviously, wild card,
01:40potentially NFC West champ, we'll see.
01:42But I'll say this, is Mac Jones' performance last week,
01:49is this another stepping stone from what we saw at Darnold and Baker Mayfield?
01:55You know, when you're able to go into a Kyle Shanahan offense
01:59and rip that team apart and just consistently find ways
02:05to abuse a very good secondary, I don't know.
02:09Does he have a new lease on life next year?
02:11With a team like Cleveland or somebody else?
02:13Yeah, I think Mac is basically now guaranteed, like,
02:17he'll be employed for a decade.
02:19Like, back up court, like, at minimum.
02:21But could he be that starter?
02:22Where, like, Sam Darnold is in Seattle and Baker is with Tampa.
02:26Listen, I don't think this is unfair.
02:29He didn't play that bad last year for Jacksonville.
02:31No, he didn't.
02:32Brian Thomas probably would be a missus.
02:33Right.
02:34If you're the Niners, this is a part of why people said,
02:41don't pay Brock Purdy.
02:42Right.
02:43System.
02:44Because, and it's not, look, do I think Purdy is better than Mac Jones?
02:48Yes.
02:49But price adjusted, you're getting smoked.
02:53Right.
02:53The amount of money that they could have poured into the potential
02:56offensive line or the secondary Joe, where, and saved on quarterback,
03:02you usually don't say that.
03:04Right?
03:04But let's remember, at least the rumors we've heard,
03:08Kyle Shanahan always wanted Mac Jones.
03:10Right?
03:10Didn't we hear that?
03:11In the draft that year, they wanted Mac Jones,
03:13and they zagged on themselves and went Trey Lance,
03:16and obviously we know how that all worked out.
03:18Like, I'll say this.
03:22If Brock Purdy wasn't paid yet,
03:25I think we'd have a real quarterback controversy on our hands.
03:28Yeah.
03:28Absolutely.
03:29And, again, I think Mac Jones looks phenomenal right now.
03:31But they have to stick with Purdy if he's healthy, right?
03:33They have to.
03:34I mean, 45 million, 49 million, would they give him?
03:3849, right?
03:39Let me see.
03:39Because I think we're going to get into the Seahawks-Bucks next
03:41because it's, you know, NFC West.
03:42That's a really big game in the NFC.
03:45If you're the Rams, you're, all of a sudden,
03:48you're having a step-up late-game problem here for L.A.
03:51Yeah, but I think they've plateaued, too.
03:54I mean, I think their pinnacle came last year,
03:57and people say, oh, Jared Verse and Fisk
04:02and all these playmakers on the defensive side of the ball,
04:05Kyron Williams.
04:06I mean, Stafford, at times,
04:10zeroes in on one guy for the whole game,
04:13and the play calling hasn't been all that great.
04:16They've pulled games out in the fourth quarter.
04:18They did it last week against Indianapolis.
04:20If A.D. Mitchell doesn't drop that ball,
04:22is it a different story?
04:23We don't know.
04:24Well, and that would have changed.
04:26What's so interesting is this is happening
04:28while Stafford is playing great football.
04:31Puka is playing great football.
04:32They're just, you know, on the margins right now,
04:35not playing as clean, I think,
04:37as you would expect that Rams group to play.
