Whitehill & Bordon's first Mayor's Civic Service

History was made in Whitehill & Bordon on Sunday, October 5, at Sacred Heart Church by Cllr Catherine Clark. The Mayor's Civic Service was the first in the town's history, with special guests from two counties taking part.

00:00I'd like to thank Father John for welcoming me to the church.

00:06It is traditional that the May Councils would be there to hold the civic service,

00:10sometimes as a separate event, or combined with a service like this,

00:15which shows their support of the local community,

00:18and also trying to raise funds for collections of the mayoral charity,

00:23which I termed is Peer Talk,

00:25as today we have learned to have resolved to service this town and its people.

00:35Will you, fellow councillors, family and friends,

00:40do all in your power to support her, encourage her, and pray for her

00:45throughout this year of office?

00:48Amen.

00:49Let us pray.
