00:00Hey everyone, welcome back. Today we're diving into the official Bitcoin Core repository on Github.

00:06The very heart of the Bitcoin network, this is the software that validates transactions, secures the block cane and keeps the entire system running.

00:16But here's the big question. How active is the development of Bitcoin in-house?

00:21Let's take a closer look. The Bitcoin Core repository is primarily written in with supporting scripts in Python, Shell and a few other languages.

00:31It currently has thousands of stars, thousands of forks and contributions from developers all around the world that shows just how strong the community and long-term commitment really are looking at the development activity.

00:46We can see frequent updates with new commits almost every week.

00:50Bitcoin Core is far from a stagnant project. It's constantly evolving with improvements in security, performance and scalability.

01:00Right now, there are hundreds of open issues and dozens of pull requests under review,

01:05ranging from bug fixes and optimizations to deeper discussions about consensus rules.

01:11This is where Bitcoin's technical future is built lying by Lenin.

01:15The latest stable release, Vershinx, was published recently. Each release usually brings both fixes efficiency, improvements and sometimes major upgrades that reinforce the reliability of the protocol.

01:29Because Bitcoin is the backbone of a global financial system, every change here is heavily reviewed and tested before it ever touches the network.

01:37So what does this repository tell us after more than 15 years since the genus has blocked Bitcoin, Core is still under active and careful development?
