00:00Hey everyone, welcome back. Today we're breaking down everything you need to know about the brand
00:04new Bitcoin Core V30 update. Bitcoin Core V30 is just around the corner. The release candidate
00:10came out on September 12, 2025, and if all goes well, the official release drops on October 3rd.
00:15Let's start with the major changes. The signature operation limit per transaction is now 2,500
00:21CEPs. The OP return size limit has been raised to about 100 kilobytes, which means transactions
00:26can now include multiple OP return outputs. The defaults have also been adjusted. Mint fee
00:31lower to 0.1 sat per vbyte, and relay an incremental relay fee set at 0.1 sat per vbyte.
00:37If you run a prune node, there is something important to know. Rebuilding the coin stats
00:41index under the new format could take a long time. Some users are already working around
00:46this by copying indexes from faster nodes instead of starting from scratch. Now let's talk about
00:50the bigger picture. This update hasn't come without controversy. The relaxed OP return limits
00:55are a hot topic. Some developers argue it could lead to spam, censorship issues, or even
01:00vehementation of the network. In fact, reports suggest that around 3,000 nodes, about 13%
01:06of the network, might average on relay policy, creating potential compatibility problems.
01:11So what should you do? If you operate a node, help test the release candidate and share feedback.
01:16If you run a prune setup, prepare for a slow index rebuild. And for everyone else, keep an eye
01:20on how this plays out especially around the OP return debate. That's it for Bitcoin Core v30.
01:26Big changes, big debates, and the release just around the corner. If you found this useful,
01:30don't forget to like, subscribe, and drop your thoughts in the comments. See you next time.
