NT opposition discloses misuse of taxpayer funds

The NT opposition leader has disclosed she has been misusing a taxpayer-funded VIP chauffeur service for personal trips. It comes just days after the ABC obtained Freedom of Information documents detailing every VIP trip between February and March.

00:51The records also revealed personal trips to Darwin restaurants.

00:55So I was made aware by my office that there was an FOI

01:00and upon reflection and review of all of my travel in the last 12 months

01:04as the opposition leader, I have seen that I have blurred the lines

01:08between professional and personal use.

01:10Other members of the Labor team have also been scrutinised in recent years

01:14for charging taxpayers thousands of dollars for fuel

01:18while on personal interstate trips.
