00:00was the key to the game as most people are saying Alex Cora and the Red Sox willingness to stick
00:04with Garrett Crochet where Aaron Boone and the Yankees were not willing to stick with Matt
00:09stick with Max Fried was that the key to the game yes but I would take it just a tick further and
00:13say and I'm going to say Cora and Boone but it's really about the organizations and whoever else
00:20is involved and the decision making but let's stick to the managers and just to make it easy
00:25I think one side manages it like a postseason game and the other side really doesn't and and I think
00:33that's the difference I think that when you get to everybody always says in baseball well they've
00:39been doing this all year well what good does that do when you're not in a marathon anymore
00:44you're in a sprint so everything changes and Cora alluded to this in his post game when he said
00:50look all the decisions we make during the year are in part geared towards getting to this moment
00:55and letting guys go deeper so what did the Red Sox do they let Garrett Crochet throw a career high
01:00in pitches 117 and they basically tried to milk him for pretty much every drop or close to it
01:07meanwhile Boone takes his guy out with nobody on base nobody on base after he got the leadoff man and
01:15one out when he's been in control of the game the whole night and the bottom of the Red Sox order
01:20right and turns it over to a bullpen that has been hit or miss pretty much trick or treat for the
01:27entire time that they built a post-trade deadline so it could be good it could be bad you really don't
01:32know the Red Sox played that whole game with the idea of getting into the Yankees bullpen and the
01:38Yankees open the door for them they open the door here you're in our bullpen get in in the seventh inning
01:44and they lost
01:49you
