One, please.
00:30
Okay, then Jonathan, we're here with Sheniro Roundabout, obviously where Buddy became known
00:39
as Buddy the Roundabout dog, so just why did Buddy used to love this place so much?
00:44
It was his favourite chill-out place, he used to, like, coming up here, he would just sit
00:50
on the bank and he would just watch people, you know, I used to watch them, because he
00:56
was one of his favourites, people used to bring him treats, so he would look out for them,
01:01
and if he recognised them, he would be up, and he'd be down there, in the bags, and he'd
01:08
get his treats, and then...
01:11
And just what was Buddy like as a character?
01:13
Oh, he was placid, he was soft, he'd walk up to anybody just for a stroke, he loved the
01:22
attention, and he was a useless garden dog, he got, he, he, I used to, I used to deliver
01:31
a newspaper, I still do, and, er, I used to have to leave them outside, at the big market,
01:36
because they didn't like him going into the premises, and the students used to untie him,
01:43
and walk off with him, and he was that placid, you know, he'd go off with anyone.
01:48
And so he used to come here, he used to play with his ball, he used to chill out, is that
01:52
what he used to do?
01:53
Yeah, he used to, I used to throw the ball for him, he never brought it back, so I used
01:56
to have to go over, get it off him, and then throw it back the other way, so, kept me fit.
02:02
And so obviously he became quite famous with the local community, and also commuters going
02:06
to and from work, so, Denise, I understand you decided to get the plaque made in bunnies on
02:11
us, so why did you want to do that?
02:13
Yeah, because I knew him as well as Buddy first, but then when I got my dog, he came
02:18
round here, and we all seen Buddy with Jonathan, and he came up, the dog loved him, and just
02:24
everybody in shiny, potent, everywhere, knew him as a shiny old roundabout dog, and he
02:31
was that pleasant, he was just so friendly as well.
02:35
And Jonathan, is this going to be sort of a fitting memory, that the fact that the plaque's
02:39
going to go on the roundabout, which Buddy loved so much?
02:42
Yeah, yeah, I mean, people say now that they go round the roundabout, and they don't see
02:48
him anymore, and it's a big miss, and the bus drivers used to see him all the time, and
02:54
they used to look out for him, so, even though he's not here, but he'll be here in spirit.
03:00
Owen, how do you feel also about the community doing this for Buddy?
03:06
I think it's amazing, you know, at the end of the day, he was just my dog, and you know,
03:13
I used to bring him where he wanted to go, if he wanted to come here, we'd come here,
03:17
if he wanted to go somewhere else, we'd go there, but this was always his favourite place,
03:21
and, er, I think he just used to, like, people watching.
03:27
I know that's that thought, that's what I was doing.
03:33
Thank you, thank you.
03:35
Okay, thanks for watching this video.
