WOMAN HORRIFIED AS HAIRBALL PULLED OUT WITH HER IUD WITH VID AND PIX BY SHANNON PICKETT A woman has gone viral after revealing doctors pulled out her IUD, with a giant hairball attached. Abbie Elian from San Diego, California, USA, who shared her story online, admitted that when doctors removed it, they were stunned to find it coated in what they called a hairball. According to the 29-year-old, she’d been suffering through an endless cycle of infections, pain, and fatigue. Multiple UTIs, yeast infections, sharp pelvic cramps, and even kidney stones piled up before nurses finally suggested her IUD might be the culprit. She said: ”I had no idea that was inside me and couldn’t particularly feel the hairball. “When they took it out and I saw it, I completely froze. I was so in shock and trying to piece together what the ball was and how it could’ve gotten there. “We don’t think it’s just hair. We think it’s probably tampon fragments, maybe toilet paper fragments, my hair from my head." Abbie told how she never touched it herself but recalled one explanation that when things get into the vagina, it can harden around an object. She admitted she still doesn’t have all the answers, but the discovery left her horrified. She said she wasn’t the first person to experience this kind of complication, though hers 'might be bigger.' She believes her IUD strings may have been too long. She compared it to 'TPing a house' - the strings acting like tree branches that catch whatever brushes against them. Abbie explained that it wasn’t just hair caught on the device, but likely tampon fragments, toilet paper, and strands of hair shed from her own head. Her partner, who was with her when the device was removed, described the object as looking like 'a gerbil.' But he reassured her that he never felt put off by it, insisting he was still comfortable being intimate afterwards. Despite the support, she admitted the ordeal left her mortified. Watching the mass come out of her body was traumatising, and she struggled to feel comfortable with intimacy again. She said: “The pain I was experiencing felt like a stabbing pain in my lower pelvis region and got worse depending on hormonal factors and activities. "I was incredibly relieved because I knew something had been wrong. "As strange as it sounds, I was relieved when I saw the hairball because it validated my instinct that something was wrong and I could finally begin feeling normal again. "My partner saw it coming out of me. I was mortified. “If I’m just a regular girl, if it can happen to me, it can happen to you. “If you’re experiencing any sort of problems with your body and you think it might have to do with your IUD, just get it out. “They kind of hand IUDs out like candy and it’s very concerning. "I already have plenty of insecurities and issues with my own body. This was just the icing on the cake and made nothing easier. "I'm determined to make my socials a safe space for women to feel comfortable being vulnerable about their experiences with womanhood and sharing my own to educate and relate. Normalizing sharing what others may keep to themselves, relationships, hairballs, and everything in-between. "My goal isn't to scare anyone out of these decisions, what my experience was isn't bound to be yours. My goal is to just spread awareness about risks that we aren't even educated in." ENDS

00:00More graphic better for her. What in the world is that thing?
00:05Hey Sandra, BLS is here for that patient. I'll be right there.
00:08What? Okay, sounds good. Say bye-bye to our little friend.
00:12So I'm currently in the hospital and I've been having issues and it turns out I had a ball of yarn.
00:21What is it?
00:22Like a literal dime-sized ball of string attached to my IUD.
00:33Hi everyone. I never thought my kitty cat would go viral and if it were going to I really would have rather not this be the reason why.
00:40But we're here. Only me. This would only happen to me.
00:44You guys have a lot of questions and the girlies are freaking out. Honestly all the people are freaking out.
00:49But this is for the girlies and for the men that want to know about their girlies and for all of the people in between.
00:54We're gonna start off by addressing the most commonly asked questions, which is...
00:59How? What is that? Okay, we're starting with what is that?
01:04I wish I knew. I don't have the answers that you guys are looking for. Like I'm still looking for answers.
01:09I'm not the first. I'm not the OG. Mine might be bigger, okay?
01:12When the doctor took it out, they called it a hairball.
01:15I did not touch it. There was a doctor, I believe, that explained that when foreign matter gets into the vagina,
01:22it hardens around whatever the object is and that is disgusting, okay?
01:25Your body's supposed to flush things out, right? My strings may have been too long.
01:28Yeah, it's like TPing a house. Like you throw toilet paper, it gets stuck on the trees.
01:32We don't think that it's just hair. We think it's probably
01:35tampon fragments, maybe toilet paper fragments. My hair from my head. Get your minds out of the gutter.
01:40I'm bald. It is not from my current partner because I met him six months before this and I was celibate for almost a year prior.
01:46Our hair sheds.
01:47I vacuum. I wash my sheets at least once a week. If there's a hair stuck to my body somewhere,
01:51I don't just leave it there. You're not always aware of everything that's going on.
01:55And so I'm assuming what happens is the hair from my head when I'm engaging in certain activities
02:00has shed onto the bed and there are fluids and they are sticky fluids.
02:05I'm assuming that they get stuck and they just get shoved up there.
02:07Never in a million years did I think that hair would get inside of that part of my body.
02:11You can't tell me you've never pulled a hair out of your ass. I don't want to hear it. Okay.
02:14Was it a collection of different types of hair? Most likely. Yes. And that is foul. Okay.
02:20I'm the one that had to experience it. We have my trusty sidekick. So we have some questions.
02:24Other than when I had infections, did it smell? You have to look at the camera and tell them.
02:29Did I smell?
02:30No, she did not.
02:31Could you feel it?
02:32No, I can't.
02:33With your fingers.
02:34With nothing.
02:35With your third leg.
02:37No.
02:38No.
02:39How did you feel when you saw it coming out of me? A hairball.
02:42It was like a gerbil.
02:43It was like a gerbil.
02:44Yeah.
02:45Did you like not want to like be intimate with me afterwards?
02:47No.
02:48No. Okay. A real man, ladies and gentlemen.
02:51A real man.
02:52Real man.
02:53What made me realize that I had a hairball in my IUD?
02:55Gotten my strings checked three weeks before I went to the emergency room. Nothing came up on the ultrasound.
03:00My symptoms were constant bacterial infections, UTIs, yeast infections.
03:07It was like one after another, after another, after another.
03:10Getting prescribed different medicines twice per month.
03:12I was having a lot of pelvic pain here, mainly on the left side.
03:15Sharp pain, cramping pain, bleeding with intimacy.
03:19I ended up having kidney stones and I didn't know it at the time.
03:22And the nurse actually was like, this might be coming from your IUD.
03:25I would highly suggest you get it out.
03:27And he was basically like, we were able to pull your IUD out, but we pulled it out by this.
03:31What the is it?
03:32And I was like, I don't know.
03:33You tell me.
03:34If I'm just a regular shmegular girl, if it can happen to me, it can happen to you.
03:37I'm sorry.
03:38I have good hygiene.
03:39I'm a clean girl-ish.
03:40Or whatever.
03:41As clean as I can be.
03:42It does seem to be fairly common for people with IUDs and Nubarenes.
03:45One strand of hair is all you need.
03:47If you're having symptoms and you have an IUD, don't freak out and just think that it's a hairball.
03:51Your body just might not be happy with having a foreign object in there.
03:53And my body is like that.
03:55I'm not sticking hair brushes up there.
03:57If you're experiencing any sort of problems with your body and you think it might have to do with your IUD, just get it out.
04:03They kind of hand IUDs out like candy and it's very concerning to me.
04:06Just birth control in general.
04:07It is not normal for you to feel this tired and fatigued.
04:09I'm very okay with you guys roasting me in the comments.
04:11But I will say this has been a very traumatizing experience.
04:14And I had a very hard time being comfortable with intimacy and opening myself up to it again.
04:19I was mortified.
04:20My partner saw it coming out of me.
04:22I don't want you anywhere near that.
04:23And I already have plenty of insecurities and issues with my own body.
04:26This was just the icing on the cake and made nothing easier.
04:29Hope that answered your questions.
04:30If you guys have more, let me know.
04:32There are a lot of you and a lot of questions to be answered.
04:35I'm here for the girls.
04:36Some people are like, you need to keep this to yourself.
04:38But no, I shouldn't.
04:39Because this is clearly something that isn't understood and isn't talked about enough.
04:43Thank you guys for coming.
04:44Please go like my other videos that I actually like to get watched.
04:48Sayonara from me and my coochie.
04:50Thanks for being so much for the video.
04:51Okay?
04:53To be a good idea.
04:54That is the video I actually like to make videos.
04:55Maybe?
04:56Or maybe?
