00:00This is Project Runway.
00:08Angelo, Alex, and Vijay, you're all disappointed this week.
00:14I know that my work is better than the both of them,
00:17so they need to go home first before me.
00:20Vijay, you're safe, you can leave the runway.
00:25Oh, my God, thank you for this energy.
00:34Alex, your construction left a lot to be desired,
00:38and you missed the mark.
00:40I adore Angelo, but I have a lot more to offer.
00:44I don't want to go home.
00:46Angelo, in this competition, you have to remember
00:50that showmanship is just as important as craftsmanship.
00:55All I'm thinking is I need this for my daughter.
00:59I cannot go home this early.
01:03Alex, Angelo, one of you will be in,
01:07and one of you will be out.
01:11Angelo, you're in.
01:15You can leave the runway.
01:23Thank you, guys.
01:24I'm sorry, Alex, that means you're out.
01:28Auf Wiedersehen.
01:30It was lovely to meet all of you.
01:32Good luck.
01:33Well, it's not fun to be the second person going home.
01:38That's for sure.
01:40No, I deserve it.
01:42I really do.
01:43It's not.
01:44No.
01:45It's not a good example of my work at all.
01:46Is it going to be like this each week?
01:48this shit.
01:49Yeah.
01:51off.
01:53You know, I don't disagree with the feedback that the judges had.
01:56This is a incredible, fun experience that I've been able to have.
02:01Alex, Alex, Alex.
02:04Wow.
02:05What's next is we're going to go home.
02:07We're going to have a sauna.
02:11And life will continue on.
02:17You guys ready to get pushed a little harder?
02:18Yeah.
02:19Mm-hmm.
02:20I think until now there really hasn't been any clear leaders
02:23in either challenge.
02:26I think we're going to blow it up.
02:28Uh-oh.
02:29So Ethan and Jesus, for winning the first two challenges,
02:33each of you are going to become the leaders of your own house.
02:38Yes, sir.
02:40Versus.
02:41Bring it.
02:42Oh, my God.
02:44Bring it.
02:45Oh, my God.
02:46Another team challenge.
02:47I don't want to be on either team.
02:49I just can't wait to work by myself
02:52without thinking about other people.
02:54Ugh.
02:55You'll be picking your team shortly.
02:58And choose wisely.
03:00I'm so excited.
03:02Good luck.
03:03See you soon.
03:05The team is hot, Ethan!
03:09I always wanted to start my own house.
03:11This is insane.
03:13Such a twist.
03:14Honestly, I feel like it's going to be a tough competition
03:16because I know how talented Ethan is.
03:19Oh, the shape!
03:20It's going to be a battle.
03:25What is that?
03:26It's a great challenge.
03:27It's time to pick, team.
03:28So things about to get spicy.
03:29I think I found my new one.
03:30Hello, designers.
03:31I'm sure you guys are wondering, what are these bags?
03:32Yes.
03:33Each of these bags are fabrics that I would say are considered boring.
03:38So PNC Bank believes whether it's managing your money responsibly or sewing the same stitch for hours.
03:45Actions that seem boring are essential to create brilliant results.
03:46So in these bags are basic fabrics and textiles.
03:47Seen on a bolt or a design table, they might be a good thing.
03:49And they might be a good thing.
03:50Oh, I'm sure you guys are going to take it.
03:51I'm sure you guys are wondering, what are these bags?
03:52Yes.
03:53Each of these bags are fabrics that I would say are considered boring.
03:58So PNC Bank believes whether it's managing your money responsibly or sewing the same stitch for hours,
04:04actions that seem boring are essential to create brilliant results.
04:09So in these bags are basic fabrics and textiles.
04:13Maybe on a bolt or a design table, they might be considered.
04:17But when slowly and thoughtfully designed and fabricated, something boring transforms into something beautiful.
04:25So the two houses will select from three mystery bags of boring to inspire brilliant looks on the runway.
04:31Ethan and Jesus, you have the power to choose your houses.
04:35My strategy is to pick designers that are great tailors.
04:38I definitely want my twin brother and my team because I know how good we work together.
04:42But I'm thinking Ethan, strategy-wise, might take him away from me.
04:46Jesus and Antonio love to be heard.
04:51I'm going to try to keep all of the firecracker energy out of my group.
04:56We're going to flip a button to decide who picks first.
04:59Good luck.
05:00Good luck.
05:01It's Ethan.
05:02Oh, wow.
05:03All right.
05:04My first pick is each other.
05:05Thank you, baby.
05:06My first pick is going to be Antonio.
05:09Of course.
05:10Hello.
05:11Ethan, you're next.
05:12Joseph McRae.
05:13Oh!
05:14Madeline.
05:15Miss John.
05:16I knew it.
05:19BJ.
05:20I am shocked.
05:21Jesus picked me because we don't really get along.
05:25Oh, my God.
05:26Lord.
05:27Angelo.
05:29Baby.
05:33I am shocked.
05:36Jesus picked me because we don't really get along.
05:39Oh, my God.
05:40Lord.
05:43Angelo.
05:45Baby.
05:46I've always been picked last.
05:50Melania.
05:51But it's fueling me to show I'm actually the special sauce.
05:57I got all the skills, you just don't know it yet.
05:59Because Ethan got to pick first.
06:02It's only fair if Jesus picks first the bag of larynx.
06:06I was born with a pack of two, so I'm going to pick two.
06:10OK, let's see.
06:12Oh!
06:14This is your fabric.
06:17Fun.
06:18What do you think?
06:19I like it.
06:21It's a great wool.
06:22We can make this fabric look really expensive.
06:25They can have it all day, every day.
06:28That's ugly.
06:29There's barely any stretch on it.
06:32Keep it.
06:33We don't want it on this side.
06:34All right, Ethan.
06:35I'm going to choose number one.
06:36OK, let's see.
06:38Please be better.
06:39Please be better.
06:40Looks like...
06:42Denim.
06:43Denim is so versatile.
06:47It is classic.
06:49It can be modern.
06:50We got the best material.
06:51So now that you have the foundations for this challenge,
06:54each house must create a capsule collection
06:57that shows that boring can be brilliant.
06:59This is about exploring volume, textures,
07:01making a bit of innovation,
07:03but anything here can be fresh,
07:05including a basic bag of boring.
07:08Hmm.
07:09And I have a special twist.
07:11My very dear friend Sofia Vergara
07:13will wear the winning look!
07:15So you guys better come up with something fabulous
07:20or she will never talk to me ever again.
07:23Oh, I can't wait.
07:25I want to win this challenge.
07:26I'm so ready.
07:27Last week, Heidi said that my look wasn't her favorite.
07:30I kind of want to redeem myself.
07:32We have Sofia Vergara, the princess of Colombia.
07:36This is Estrada, girl.
07:37This is what we love to dress.
07:38Let's do this.
07:39You guys will have until the end of tonight
07:42and three hours tomorrow to make these collections.
07:45Oh my God.
07:46Another one day challenge.
07:48Ah, this is Project Runway and it will never be easy.
07:51Good luck making boring brilliant.
07:54See you on the runway.
07:56So, I really wanted to have a name for the house.
08:05Okay.
08:06Catalina.
08:07Catalina is a very beautiful flower from Colombia.
08:10It comes from the family of the orchid.
08:12And considering Sofia Vergara is our guest judge,
08:16I was thinking playing with the structure
08:18to create volume and beautiful silhouettes, right?
08:24Do you know what a Catalina flower is?
08:25No, not really.
08:26But I can't get inspired if I don't know how it looks like.
08:29So, yeah.
08:31Like this.
08:32And there's the orchids here.
08:33It's like this.
08:34Like this.
08:35It has this beautiful structure like this.
08:37I'm not like a girly, girly designer.
08:40I'm more like modern and edgy and sexy.
08:43So, okay.
08:44How can I modernize it?
08:46What is the Catalina aspect of your outfit?
08:51I don't know.
08:52I'm just asking because this is the inspiration, right?
08:54Yeah.
08:55So, we have to defend like.
08:56Well, it's good to say it now.
08:57Yeah.
08:58Yeah.
08:59Girl, I'm honestly getting a little annoyed
09:02because BJ is fighting me on the inspiration.
09:04Let's not forget that I'm the team leader.
09:07So, just do what I say.
09:10Jesus has a very strong personality and so do I.
09:14So, I'm afraid that we will clash.
09:16House of Jesus, are we all doing flowers?
09:19I think we should.
09:20Yeah.
09:21I think because of structure.
09:22Yeah.
09:23BJ?
09:24I'm not sure yet.
09:25BJ, I don't want yours to look like complete.
09:27Like it doesn't belong in the collection.
09:29BJ is very quiet and doesn't really share what she's designing.
09:31You know, she's like a silent killer.
09:32Like all of a sudden, you're like, whoa, where'd that look come from?
09:33At the end of the day, one look can ruin your win.
09:34I kind of want to know what you're doing so then that way we can like, maybe you have
09:38a quick technique that we could use.
09:39You know what I mean?
09:40Okay.
09:41And share that with us.
09:42Yes, we're gonna help each other.
09:43But, no, I'm not gonna share everything that I have in my mind.
09:46You have to be creative on your own.
09:49Welcome to team Ethan.
09:50We have the house of Ethan, or we are going to be able to share your own face.
09:54And a lot of people, you know how you're going to share that.
09:56Is what we're going to share other.
09:57I'm not going to share everything that I have in my mind.
10:00I'm going to be creative on your own.
10:03We are going to be creative on your own.
10:05You know how we're going to share?
10:06This is a great day.
10:07Why is this in the high school?
10:09We're going to be creative on your own.
10:10Or, like I like to call it, ho.
10:13Our overarching theme is showstoppers.
10:19Huh?
10:22Okay.
10:24I think that we should prioritize using fringe.
10:29Fringe.
10:34Do we want to take a couple of minutes and just draw?
10:37Yeah, let's draw it.
10:39I love this friction pen.
10:42And luckily, they're erasable.
10:45It's a lifesaver right there.
10:47Okay.
10:48Ethan, so this is like the fringe idea concept,
10:50and then this is the ruffle.
10:52Yep.
10:53You have two really good ideas.
10:54We're going to dive into fringe.
10:56Okay.
10:57Yes.
10:58With the cool hat.
10:59Okay.
11:00You know, Ethan is the head of the house,
11:02so he kind of selects which design
11:04that he thinks each designer should do.
11:07We're going to do the flow with the swoopy swoopy.
11:10So I'm making a frayed denim gown with frayed accents
11:15and a frayed spiral headpiece.
11:18You have to do this half.
11:19Yeah.
11:20It could be really beautiful.
11:21That's not my favorite look of the ones I sketch,
11:24but I'm trying to be a team player.
11:30Hello.
11:31Trisha.
11:32Hello.
11:33Yeah.
11:34Yeah.
11:35Wow.
11:36Are we feeling good?
11:37I don't see a lot done at all.
11:40We're just starting.
11:42I keep it fresh.
11:45So what are you doing?
11:46I wanted to do a powerful coat.
11:48This kind of like idea of the Catalina flower
11:50and moving it into the waist.
11:52Yeah.
11:53I mean, this coat, if this is it,
11:54has to be perfect.
11:59So everybody was doing kind of a dress bodice type of thing
12:02and I said, let me step out and do pants that's tailored.
12:05This is so dynamic as a pant.
12:07Oh my God.
12:08I know.
12:09I'm screaming.
12:10Groundbreaking.
12:11Honestly, I've never seen a pant more interesting
12:14in my entire career.
12:15I know how to rework a boring uniform into something cool.
12:21Since I have dyslexia.
12:22This is how my process works.
12:24Dyslexia switches the letters around.
12:26So I had to learn early to see disorganization
12:29or see confusion and make it make sense.
12:32So Christian, chill, baby.
12:35I got this.
12:36Okay.
12:38So on the collection, I'm going to go at the end.
12:40This is the finale moment.
12:41The finale moment.
12:42I'm designing a beautiful mermaid gown
12:44incorporating the Catalina flower.
12:46I want to be on top.
12:47I want Law to tell me what he told my brother.
12:49You shut me up.
12:51You shut me up.
12:52You've got to make sure that this silhouette
12:54is just really interesting.
12:56Noted.
12:57BJ, you're making a pencil dress again.
13:00What happens on her hips?
13:02They open?
13:03Yes.
13:04Oh, yeah.
13:05So this is skin.
13:06Yes.
13:07Wow.
13:08Okay.
13:09I saw this fabric and was thinking like Goldman's sleeve
13:12and then an open back here.
13:13Mm-hmm.
13:14It's very chic.
13:15Yeah.
13:16And a classic.
13:17Yeah.
13:18But I don't think it's that exciting.
13:23I'm going to do this most sick high-waisted pant,
13:26and it's going to have a window.
13:28How is this standing up?
13:29I am a master of boning.
13:32Yeah.
13:33Boning is understructure that helps garments have shape
13:38to make them larger than life.
13:40If you can master boning,
13:42you can make any garment submissive to your whim.
13:46It's my first time to use boning, to be honest.
13:48First time to use boning ever?
13:49Yep.
13:50Yep.
13:51Okay.
13:52This is my design.
13:53I was trying to make this storm dress.
13:55So if it doesn't work, it won't work.
13:57It won't work.
13:58It's going down.
13:59I'm just saying.
14:01What are you making?
14:02I got the pencil skirt that's going to go underneath
14:04and I'm playing with this shape.
14:06Is this your vibe?
14:07Switching it up.
14:08I don't want you to take on something that you really don't do
14:11and isn't your aesthetic.
14:13Yep.
14:14I kind of agree with him, but at the same time,
14:16I wanted to stick to my ground and not create another pant.
14:19I feel like if I execute that, it's enough to make it to the next week.
14:23Okay, Joe.
14:25What is all that?
14:26Fringe?
14:27Oh, God.
14:31I just think that's just not that interesting.
14:34Mm-hmm.
14:35It's been done literally 100 million thousand times.
14:38From Brittany to Steven Tyler to every project runway designer
14:42that's ever been in this competition has done a frayed edge denim dress.
14:46Oh, no.
14:49Does it feel good, Mr. Christian?
14:51What are we supposed to do?
14:52Like, take all of it off and put nothing on the runway?
14:55Like, I don't have time or the bandwidth to pivot.
14:58So you've got to make it the best fringe-seamed edge thing you've ever seen.
15:03You have a lot to do.
15:05Mm-hmm.
15:06Good luck.
15:07I'm shook.
15:08I'm shook.
15:09All right.
15:10Battle of the houses.
15:11It's truly a battle.
15:12I still think a lot needs to happen before these collections become brilliant.
15:17Don't forget that all the boring things are right, like the hems and the zippers.
15:21All the details need to be perfect.
15:23The judges are going to be watching.
15:26Okay.
15:27Get to work.
15:28Bye, everybody.
15:29Bye.
15:30I'm still standing by the fringe.
15:33So we have a battle.
15:36Mm-hmm.
15:37It's got to be interesting.
15:38Right.
15:39Whew.
15:40That did not go well at all.
15:43I am worried about the direction that we're going as a team.
15:47Showstoppers is not a theme.
15:50It's a vision, you know?
15:52And I just think this whole fringe thing was a last-ditch effort to try to make it make sense.
15:59I am really concerned about this challenge.
16:05Come get some.
16:06Come get some.
16:07Come get some.
16:08You know that you wanna come get some.
16:11Rumi, what do you think of this edge on here?
16:14Utica was saying we add a fringe.
16:16Trust your instinct, Rumi.
16:18I'm trying to be a team player.
16:20Okay.
16:21I am really surprised about Ethan's choices.
16:24I think his goal is not to win the group challenge.
16:27I think his goal is to be the strongest.
16:30He loved my piece.
16:31So I'm in a good spot, but I wanna make sure that y'all are in a good spot.
16:35Oh.
16:36Jesus, do you already know what the other team is working on?
16:39I don't know.
16:40I see a lot of volume and a lot of, like, you know?
16:43I am extremely worried for the House of Ethan.
16:46They are all over the place.
16:48I really don't understand what Ethan is creating.
16:51Ms. Jones is really confused.
16:53Yushin doing this dress that I know it was going to be impossible for him to finish it on a one-day challenge.
17:01Yelania.
17:02Yeah?
17:03This is a concept that I had in mind for us to all incorporate the rough up.
17:07Like, look at the color.
17:08The more circle.
17:09The more circle.
17:10Yeah.
17:11That's a cascade.
17:12Yeah, I see.
17:13At first, I wasn't sure how I was gonna interpret the Catalina flower, but now I see it.
17:18I'm liking what everyone is working on, and we're really making boring brilliance.
17:25Kristen!
17:26Hello.
17:27Who wants a model?
17:28You ready?
17:29What?
17:30I don't even have a dress to fit on her.
17:31Hello, ladies!
17:32Yes!
17:33Excited to work with you!
17:34Oh, me too!
17:35How are you?
17:36Sorry.
17:37I have nothing to fit on you right now.
17:39Wait.
17:40You have nothing to try on?
17:41Oh, no.
17:42What are you gonna do?
17:44What if you cut this like you're going to, safety pin it down flat, and put it on her?
17:50Yeah.
17:51Right now.
17:52Okay.
17:53The clothes need a lot of, like, you know, headstitch.
17:55But Christian is saying, I have to put it on the model anyway.
17:59Getting the structure to do this is gonna be a little bit tough.
18:04It's not working.
18:05I feel very frustrated.
18:07It's gonna take a lot of finesse.
18:09The nightmare is happening.
18:12I have to completely start over.
18:15We'll whip out something easy and something that's in your wheelhouse that isn't so elaborate.
18:20I really don't know.
18:22I really don't know.
18:23You can either you listen to me and I make it easier for you, or you continue to struggle with your piece.
18:29Pick a lane.
18:30This is it?
18:31It's just a pencil skirt?
18:32No, no, no, no.
18:33This is the bottom.
18:34It's four layers.
18:35You didn't make that in denim yet?
18:37I can't make it in denim because it's gonna be too heavy.
18:40The outer layer is gonna be done.
18:41What if you don't have time?
18:43Oh, Lord, Ethan, I'm worried.
18:45Yes, my team is struggle bussing.
18:50You guys, really?
18:51We don't have a lot of clothes to fit.
18:54So really, this is gonna be it?
18:56Multiple people are just not gonna fit things?
18:59Ethan, your team has no clothes.
19:01Yuchen couldn't even get his off the mannequin.
19:04He has no bottom at all.
19:06And that's a pencil skirt.
19:07And if that's happening, then good luck.
19:09You might as well just say goodbye.
19:13I really believe that the other group should feel worried because Christian is actually panicking.
19:18It's crazy.
19:19We'll see you on the runway.
19:25The showstopper aspect is my whole MO.
19:28And I am realizing in the thick of it that it's a real challenge for the team.
19:33Maybe this was a bad decision.
19:36And just come up with something new, something fresh that you know that you can whip out.
19:42That has that wow factor.
19:45AJ, he started it again.
19:48I have six hours left.
19:50I have to make something else.
19:52I don't want to drag the team down because Ethan picked me first.
19:55I have to make it work.
19:57Show me what you're working with.
19:59Show me, show me.
20:01Wow, guys, it's runway day.
20:04It's runway day.
20:05It's runway day.
20:06Hey.
20:07Good morning, guys.
20:08She's a designer.
20:10Oh, my God.
20:13Oh, my God.
20:15She's a designer, a model, and a drag queen.
20:20Bitch.
20:23My team is struggling.
20:24And it's like Utica's all the light, uplift, and truly that showstopper energy.
20:29So if there's anything that's going to get my team on track to be a showstopper, it's her.
20:35Woo!
20:36Yes!
20:37We thought you were the only models.
20:39Utica.
20:40Oh, my God.
20:42Furby.
20:44I have to finish my top and my skirt and some ham off the cake.
20:48I'm so determined to finish my look.
20:50If I don't make this happen, I'll go home.
20:55Hello.
20:56Christian, meet Eureka.
20:57I see her.
20:58I wish that look was going on the runway.
21:01Other than some of these other ones.
21:02Oh!
21:03No tea, no shade, no pink lemonade.
21:06All right, houses.
21:07It's the final stretch.
21:08Don't forget to send your model to the Ulta Beauty Salon.
21:11Hola, hola.
21:13Bring out her natural features.
21:14I love the makeup.
21:15It's really chic.
21:16That is everything.
21:17I'm so excited.
21:18You deliver.
21:21I'm just going to have to open up one of these darts.
21:23No.
21:24Let's do it tight.
21:25They look snatched.
21:26Trust me.
21:27Being paid last, I was just like, my team is overly scrutinizing my look.
21:32But fit is important.
21:33And even though I'm not as confident as the other designers, I'm feeling good about tailoring stuff because I'm a tailor type of girl.
21:40I just need to clean everything up.
21:42I'm telling you, this is perfect.
21:44Do not change the zipper.
21:45Okay.
21:46Leave it like that.
21:47What is this?
21:49I'm making a very sexy top and a very sexy, like, you know, skirt inside like Dr. Cat.
21:54So it's a whole new look.
21:56We're leaving this room in less than 10 minutes.
21:59So good.
22:00Yes.
22:01Oh my God, his suit.
22:02Yes.
22:03Yes.
22:04So I'm a little worried.
22:05Their collection is very good and very strong and very done.
22:09I'm definitely stressing.
22:10The law is going to cut you up.
22:13Oh, Lord.
22:16And welcome to the runway.
22:25As you know, in fashion, one day you're in and the next day you're out.
22:30Each house was asked to create a capsule collection, transforming something boring into something brilliant.
22:37Oh my God.
22:38That is brilliant.
22:39We can't wait to see what you've made for the runway.
22:41All right.
22:42First, let's meet our judges.
22:44CFDA, award-winning stylist and image architect, La Roche.
22:49Woo!
22:50Guest judge, co-founder of the fashion line, favorite daughter, Sarah Foster.
22:56Woo!
22:57Hi, Sarah.
22:58And actress, model and icon, Sophia Vergara.
23:03Woo!
23:04Woo!
23:05I love it.
23:07I miss that.
23:09Mwah.
23:10Mwah.
23:11Hi, guys.
23:12Hi.
23:13You guys look wonderful.
23:14Not only is she my dear friend, but she will be wearing the winning look to an upcoming
23:18event.
23:19This is so exciting.
23:20Thank you very much for being our guest.
23:21And I'm hoping that this is good.
23:24All right, let's start the show.
23:33This is the outfit I want my brand to be in the world of.
23:38I am kind of loving the material though, even though it's boring.
23:41It looks like something that's from a different era, but it also looks like a little bit futuristic in a way.
23:47This is hot.
23:48If you have the legs for it, this is amazing.
23:49You have them.
23:50No, I don't.
23:51You do.
23:52No, you do.
23:53No, you do.
23:54I am so ecstatic.
23:55Those cutouts are on fire.
23:56It's a dangerous dress.
23:57She's sexy, but very mysterious.
23:58And I really love it.
24:00I took very basic wool to something extraordinary.
24:01Wow.
24:02I love it.
24:03I love it.
24:04To the people who always choose me last.
24:05My skills are delicious and toxic.
24:06I love it.
24:07I love it.
24:08To the people who always choose me last.
24:09My skills are delicious and top tier.
24:10We got that fire.
24:11We got that fire.
24:12We got that fire.
24:13When I finish a garment, it fits the body like a glove.
24:14That looks expensive.
24:15I have no use of a legal skill.
24:16Oh, yes, I'm able.
24:17I would like to go.
24:18Oh, no, I don't just fit.
24:19It's a good fit.
24:20But some of these insulated goods like it's a good fit.
24:21I love it.
24:22I love it.
24:23I love it.
24:24Oh, I love it.
24:25Here's a good fit.
24:26I love it.
24:27I love it.
24:28I love it.
24:29I love it.
24:30Oh, I love it.
24:31To the people who always choose me last, my skills are delicious and top tier.
24:36We got that fire.
24:37We got that fire.
24:38When I finish a garment, it fits the body like a glove.
24:40I mean, that looks expensive.
24:41expensive. My look looks expensive, well-tailored, well-made. I think it looks really cool on the
24:51runway with the dramatic color, the ruffle coming down. Sophia is smiling. What an honor to see
24:59Sophia Vergara can't stop looking at my design, and I feel like I've done it again.
25:10Seeing my full mermaid gown, I'm so proud of myself for really understanding this inspiration of the
25:16Catalina flower, and the structure of it made it so beautiful, and looking at Sophia Vergara's face,
25:21smiling, like saying, wow, spectacular.
25:24I can see you wearing that one. Yeah, like all of them.
25:32I am so proud of my house. We made the collection that we were set up to design. Good luck, Ethan.
25:44This is a showstopper. It's grand, it has silhouette, it takes denim, makes it fun. The window works.
25:55I set out to create a grand moment, and I did that. How do you get inside the car? Well, you don't.
26:07Wanted to be a team player. It has the frayed edges, almost like a little cape. That's just who I am.
26:14As a designer, when I commit to something, I just go for it.
26:18I don't know what to think. There's a lot going on on this one.
26:25I'm really proud of my denim jacket. The overall look, the fit came out really good.
26:35Look at me, look at me, look at me, look at me. Everybody knows that I flaunt like this when I
26:44walk, walk. Oh, I love that. My idea of a showstopper is simplicity and volume. So I could see her taking
26:51it onto a red carpet to be like a cool, but quirky girl, but still like that it girl.
26:56Or she just sort of like a stroll down the street. But listen, come on now. It's a moment, baby.
27:01To do that with denim, that's not easy.
27:04Yes, girl! When she opened that cape, that's the sexiest thing I've ever seen in my life. This look
27:14represents my resilience. It really shows how I can make something totally new in six hours.
27:21I'm going to see you on life, Sophie, when you go to Coachella.
27:24Oh my God.
27:26Yes, Steve-a!
27:30As frantic as it was, our individuality was really shown. And we did the job of showstoppers,
27:36and the whole collection, I think that it's cool. But if the judges don't like it,
27:41I could be on the chopping block.
27:43Okay, we scored your designs, and one house was truly brilliant. The winning look will come from the
27:55winning house, while the eliminated designer will come from the losing house. House of Jesus,
28:02House of Utica, you were our favorite house.
28:14Wow, congrats, guys. Wow, wow, wow. It feels very empowering to be a leader and to have my house
28:20win, to be in the top three first week, to one second week, and then now third week again.
28:27Good job, Jesus.
28:28Okay, House of Utica, we're going to talk to you later. You can leave the runway.
28:33No, not the House of Ho being in the bottom.
28:39How could you put something this sickening in the bottom? Tell me, judges. Tell me.
28:45Wow, what a day.
28:49I'm not surprised we're in the bottom. I think we got carried away with Ethan's plan
28:54to create a showstopper piece. Definitely a little frustrating.
28:57Congratulations. Thank you.
29:02I felt like you worked together. I was so impressed with the tailoring.
29:07So impressed. Thank you.
29:08Spectacular. I mean, I could definitely wear many of those designs that you guys prepared this time.
29:14We want to talk to the three designers with our three favorite looks.
29:21Jesus. Wow.
29:24Antonio.
29:24And Bologna.
29:29Congrats.
29:32So that means Madeline and Vijay, you're safe. You can leave the runway.
29:36Thank you so much.
29:37Thank you so much.
29:37Thank you so much. Thank you.
29:41All right. Let's bring out your models.
29:46Hi.
29:46Oh, my God.
29:48This material is nothing boring at all.
29:51No.
29:51Amazing. It actually makes it elegant. The material makes it elegant.
29:55Expensive.
29:55Yeah.
29:55This is by far the best looks of the season so far.
30:00I can really see each and every one of you being a winner in this challenge.
30:04Yeah.
30:04Yeah.
30:05All right. Jesus, we're going to start with you first.
30:08Yes.
30:08I really am impressed. I mean, wool can go very wrong. That could look sloppy and it looks impeccable.
30:15Like the way that you tailored this coat, that was risky.
30:20I mean, I usually can't wear things that have so much volume over here, but I think I could because
30:26it's open, low. It's amazing. It's spectacular. And I think this could look beautiful in any woman.
30:32Gracias.
30:33You did a really good job at taking a fabric that's considered as boring, but I think it's
30:39absolutely sophisticated.
30:41Thank you so much.
30:41And you shut me up twice.
30:43Wow.
30:44Two runways in a row, so congratulations.
30:47Thank you, Jesus.
30:48Another one of our favorite looks came from Bolania.
30:52Oh, this thing falling down her neck. I've never seen anything like it in my life. It's a lot,
30:59but it's not. I think it was perfect for this material. It was perfect for the color. It was perfect
31:05for me.
31:08It feels timeless. I can see a superstar or a model of every era wearing this suit. Truly, I see it.
31:15Oh, I would definitely put Zadea in this. Without a doubt.
31:18It's super sexy. She can show her shoulders.
31:21All the pretty parts of a woman is showing. Just, ah.
31:24It's the peplum.
31:25Just like, almost like this razor. It was. And the peplum. There are no notes. This felt like something I had never saw before. And I've seen so many clothes. But this, I will never forget. Ever.
31:40Please, you're going to make me cry right now. You should be very proud.
31:44Thank you. Thank you. So many long, long, long years, I was not seen, not recognized for my skills and abilities. So getting praise for it feels really good. It definitely confirms and reaffirms why I'm here. And, um, I feel seen.
32:00That leaves us with Antonio. It's gorgeous. Thank you.
32:05I can also see Sofia wear this. Yeah. It's elegant. It's spectacular. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much.
32:12But that being said, I just want to point out a couple things that I think could have made it a little better. Had you trimmed the petal that's coming down just a little bit, just to pull the snatch the waist in.
32:25All right. It's time to name the winner. The winning look truly wowed us by taking gray wool and bringing in structure, detail, and really a lot of elegance
32:35to bring brilliance out of boring. Oh, never boring.
32:41Well, Sofia, since you are going to be wearing the winning look, I'll give you the honor.
32:45I mean, I would wear all of them. But if I only had money for one,
32:49I would say Belania.
32:55Oh! Yay!
32:57Yay!
32:58Oh, thank you. Oh, my gosh.
33:00Congratulations, Belania. Thank you. Thank you.
33:03Thank you. I'm shocked. Literally, I'm like.
33:07And Sofia Vergara is going to wear your look.
33:09Oh, yes! Work that body.
33:14How's up, Jesus?
33:15You can leave the runway.
33:16Bravo.
33:19Whoa!
33:20I've won a challenge on Project Runway.
33:24This part made me born like a baby up there. I was like, please, y'all, stop.
33:32Winning this challenge makes me feel like I'm getting closer to defining who I am as a designer.
33:38Finally, seeing a little bit of the vision in the light of what's been inside of me for so long.
33:44So, don't choose me last, y'all. Choose me first. And we can win together.
33:48All right, let's talk to House of Ethan, or should I say House of Utica?
33:57Yeah, I'm not surprised. I kind of had a feeling, you know,
34:01Ethan's leadership for this challenge was an epic fail.
34:05The direction that we were going as a team was all wrong, and here we are.
34:10All right, House of Utica, tell us about your collection.
34:19I come from the world of drag, so I brought this idea to the team of creating showstoppers,
34:29to create a moment, to create big silhouettes, and I think we did a darn good job getting that aha.
34:36I understand that you wanted to have the wow, you know, we also want to be wowed,
34:40but I feel like you didn't keep in mind Sophia. Sophia will wear the winning look,
34:45so it's kind of like, don't you have that in the back of your head? Most importantly,
34:50we would like to bring out the three looks that we liked the least.
34:57Joseph, Yujin, you're safe. You can leave the runway.
35:02Thank you, guys. Thank you. Thank you.
35:06Which means Joan, Angelo, and Tutica, unfortunately you created our least favorite looks.
35:14All right, let's bring out your models.
35:20Okay, Angelo, let's talk about your design.
35:23There's just so much to look at. It's so busy in all the wrong places.
35:29I like the jacket.
35:30Does the jacket come off?
35:31Yeah. The jacket with the corset and the pants would have been very wearable.
35:38Turn around, please.
35:40Everything looks so crooked.
35:41No.
35:42Angelo, thank you.
35:44All right, Joan.
35:46It's a very confusing design. Those pieces of denim are not beautiful to look at. You don't even
35:54want to touch them. They're like...
35:55It looks shredded.
35:56It looks like something bad happened to it.
35:59I mean, no doubt she would get worse dressed than that. That does not look luxe.
36:03Well, you know, I'm an evening wear designer and this was the assignment. This is the direction we
36:11were given as a team, you know, and I'm trying to be a team player.
36:13Direction from who? Your leader?
36:15Yes.
36:18We submitted sketches. This is what was selected for me to design, so...
36:22And now you're in the bottom because you let somebody push you away from what your aesthetic is.
36:28There is a lot of pressure to create a vibe and guide a team to victory.
36:34It doesn't feel great, but my leadership could be the weakest link.
36:38I just... I'm confused why you guys felt like you had to push as far as you did.
36:43We decided to create things that are quintessentially us, but we did not keep you in mind.
36:51Now, that's what I'm all about. These big, beautiful, like...
36:54Which I love, but I feel like there is a time and a place.
36:58When I saw your look walk out, I was just like,
37:00like, the cervix is dilated and she's crowning.
37:03That is exactly what it is.
37:08That's what it is. It's true.
37:09I have a bottle opener at home that looks just like it for my beer.
37:13Blonk.
37:14Let's see the back, please. No, that's bad too.
37:18Oh!
37:20I think you let the drag persona take over this week, and I think you should have
37:26held her back because this is too over the top. It doesn't make sense. It's not beautiful. It's not
37:31flattering. I am actually really disappointed in you.
37:35I'm in shock, actually, that it's you.
37:39It's difficult being up here, being knocked down by the judges and my team. It does not feel good.
37:45I am really pissed off about this collection. I did not come to work and get this beautiful glam
37:52to look at a bunch of ugly clothes. I'm sorry. I am pissed off. I'm mad.
38:00Sorry.
38:01Okay. Utica, Joan, Angelo. We have to discuss what we've heard. And sadly, one of you will be out.
38:10You can leave the runway. Thank you.
38:13Gee.
38:14That's terrible. And it really pissed me off.
38:17It's like a Project Runway denim costume party.
38:20Yes.
38:21You know, it doesn't feel good being on the bottom because it wasn't me designing truly from who I am
38:29and my design aesthetic. And now I'm being, you know, criticized for that.
38:33They thought it was the ugliest thing they've ever seen in their lives. But it's okay.
38:38What I don't like is that Ethan thought too much about himself.
38:42Yeah, exactly.
38:42Yeah.
38:43Because our eyes popped out of our heads when we saw Utica standing next to this look.
38:48I'm sorry. Ethan should have been here and not Utica tonight, babe.
38:51Right. I thought Angelo was the worst, to be quite honest. There was no real construction.
38:55He made a great jacket because he makes menswear. But the jacket was just okay.
39:00He plays safety, so he didn't make it as crazy. And that's why we were more
39:05drawn to say this one is better. But it wasn't better.
39:08Better.
39:08It wasn't better.
39:09He's been here before. So we have to take that into account.
39:13I'm on the bottom again. It sucks because I didn't get a chance yet to really
39:18go full force and show my best ability. I'm not ready to go home.
39:22What about Joan? Joan, that dress.
39:25Some less offensive.
39:27The less offensive out of the three.
39:29But no one would really wear that outfit.
39:31I am feeling very frustrated. My hands were tied. This is not what I wanted to do.
39:37I have so much more to show. I am not ready to go home. I'm just getting warmed up.
39:43For me, it boils down to, do we send home the person that took leadership in the bag collection?
39:52And made the worst look?
39:53Or send home the person that had the least amount of point of view and sewing talent?
40:01If we didn't know who did this and the designer was not standing next to the look,
40:06who would go?
40:07Ooh.
40:09I think they can all go.
40:11Same.
40:12This would be a first for Project Runway, but maybe it's time we do it.
40:17Next time on Project Runway from Abbott Elementary, Chris Perfetti and Lisa Ann Walter.
40:23This is the Unconventional Materials Challenge.
40:27A fight's breaking out.
40:28Fight!
40:28Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?
40:30Okay, she's Barbie, but the pink bitch done.
40:33I told you they're working together again.
40:35It's annoying.
40:36Oh my god, popsicle dress.
40:38Oh, uh, it's something.
40:40I mean, the whole booty is out.
40:43It just looks so sad.
40:44It looks like dead vegetation.
40:47This is so up.
