00:00Congratulations on this.
00:02So how long had you been looking to make this dramatic turn and kind of do something different?
00:06Do something different and make this turn?
00:08It's been a while.
00:10It's been since, I mean, almost 10 years ago I had this voice, sorry, I had this voice
00:15behind my ribcage that's been just gnawing at my gut and saying, hey, you can do more
00:22and you should do more.
00:24And I was trying, by the way.
00:25So by the way, in 2018, 19, I brought this film and this idea to Benny Safdie.
00:32So six, seven years ago.
00:34So it was some time and then COVID hit and everything shut down.
00:38So it's been a while.
00:40So this has been a long time coming and I'm so grateful to experience what I was able to
00:43experience.
00:44And finally, to be honest with you, face my fears and jump off the cliff.
00:51What was that first day on set like then when you're kind of doing something that's so different
00:56than usual?
00:56It was unforgettable.
00:58It was really incredible.
00:59I was able to step on set and by that point I had transformed into Mark Kerr, four hours
01:06of makeup every day, 22 prosthetics, 30 pounds of weight muscle.
01:14It's a lot, it's a lot of weight to carry.
01:16I was happy to get it off.
01:19So it was a lot.
01:20It was a lot.
01:20But stepping on set, not my words, but Emily's words were, she said afterwards, we, after all
01:29the prosthetics off, it's like midnight.
01:31It was myself, Emily and Benny were having some little bit of tequila.
01:35And she said, when you walked on the air changed in the room, like you could feel it and it
01:40moved me because it kind of gave me like it validated things.
