The head of the German state of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, has urged closer chip cooperation with Taiwan at a sustainability conference in Taipei. He is the first leader of a German state to visit the country. Also at the conference was the head of ESMC, the joint venture with TSMC building a chip fab in Saxony's capital, Dresden.
