00:07Two games brought together in one perfect package.

00:13A new beginning and ending awaits.

00:17Praise be! These are glad tidings indeed.

00:24Thanks to the heroic efforts of the legendary Erdrich,

00:27the land of Alifgaard had been restored.

00:30But after many years, the peace has been broken.

00:34The diabolical Dragonlord has risen,

00:36and the world is once again overrun by hideous monsters.

00:42In Dragon Quest 1, you, the hero, are the descendant of the legendary Erdrich.

00:47A young man that possesses the courage and strength to face monsters

00:50has been given the duty of rescuing the Princess Gwelyn

00:54and reclaiming the Sphere of Light to liberate Alifgaard.

00:57The fate of the world rests with you.

01:04Although you will explore the world of Alifgaard unaccompanied in Dragon Quest 1,

01:08you will have to be at your best,

01:10as this time, you will be fighting multiple monsters.

01:18you will travel to the town of Tentagel, where your adventure begins.

01:28As with Dragon Quest 3, this remake of the original Dragon Quest

01:32is filled with a plethora of new areas to discover and features not seen before.

01:39You will have new encounters with fairies and dwarves that did not appear in the original game.

01:49You'll encounter some enemies you will be acquainted with.

01:55As well as unfamiliar and powerful antagonists.

01:59Fighting enemies and monsters is all part of being the hero.

02:46when peace has been broken by the evil High Priest, Argon,

02:50who has destroyed the Kingdom of Moonborn.

02:52Neither Kanak nor Middenhall will ever be truly safe,

02:57while the High Priest yet lives.

02:59A lair descendant of Erdric,

03:00the Prince of Middenhall,

03:02spurred into action by this heinous act,

03:04sets out on a quest to join forces with three cousins,

03:07to defeat Argon and bring true peace to the land.

03:16Explore the expansive world map and towns of Middenhall,

03:20Kennet, and Moonbrook,

03:22founded by the descendants of the hero Erdric,

03:25as well as brand new villages,

03:27where you will meet the locals,

03:30buy important items,

03:36Discover castles, ruins, and dungeons,

03:40where you will unearth secrets and gather valuable items.

03:44As you progress through the story,

03:50you will gain more companions to help you on your quest.

03:53With me by your side, you shall not fall again.

03:56Starting out, you are the hero,

03:58the cool-headed Prince of Middenhall.

04:01Although he cannot use spells,

04:03he defeats his enemies with his brawn and skilled sword combat.

04:06The Prince of Kennet can be carefree,

04:11but is highly skilled in both swordplay and magic.

04:16It is a pleasure to join your fellowship.

04:19While the boys fight it out with their muscle,

04:21the Princess of Moonbrook focuses her strength

04:23with a more considered approach and magical abilities.

04:30A newly playable character takes your party up to four.

04:33Sister of the Prince of Kennet,

04:36this princess supports with magic and swift attacks,

04:39crucial in battle.

04:40It is as I always say,

04:42age is no excuse to lose.

04:45Each character plays a vital role in your strategic battle tactics,

04:48so make sure you have them readily equipped for the fight.

04:57As your party grows,

04:59so do your options in battle.

05:01each character's unique abilities and skills

05:04makes combat more expansive than ever before.

05:08As you explore further,

05:10you will meet familiar monsters

05:12that you recognize from Dragon Quest III,

05:14as well as a whole host of new monsters to defeat and conquer.

05:20Every new environment brings stronger and ghastlier brutes,

05:24and more difficult quest objectives.

05:27But don't be deterred.

05:29Discover unknown lands

05:31where grisly creatures rule

05:33and only the hard adventure.

05:35We are victorious!

05:35There are more improvements across both games.

05:42Sigils,

05:43originally only appeared in Dragon Quest II,

05:46but now can be found in both games,

05:48advancing the story as well as aiding in combat.

05:51Scrolls also appear in both games,

05:54whereby abilities and spells are learnt by using an item rather than leveling up.

05:58Traveling around the epic landscapes of each game has been made easy with map markers,

06:04a mini map,

06:05and auto savers.

06:07In addition to the variety of languages for text,

06:10you can also choose to play with English or Japanese voice over.

06:13To help you progress,

06:20quality of life features such as the ability to change battle speed and auto battling have been added.

06:27The rich orchestral soundtrack for each game by the Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra

06:33completes an epic and unmissable package.
