00:00There's been a lot of talk about distancing yourself from a friendship, not necessarily
00:04renewing a friendship, cutting ties with certain people, including even family members, etc.
00:08When there are so many ways in which a person could be having a negative impact on you or not,
00:14how do you identify a relationship that maybe just needs a little work versus one that you
00:18might really recommend kind of moving away from? A lot of times we want things that we haven't
00:22expressed. And then we go straight into, you're cut out of my life. And it's like, wait, but you
00:27never said that you wanted that thing. You never tried to have the conversation. So a lot of times
00:31the first step is to say, I really would like this. Is this something that you're open to? How can we
00:36work together to make this happen? Or is this something you're open to making happen? Then if
00:40you've expressed it and it's not being met, then that's a different conversation that you can have.
00:45But I think there's a lot of ways to do it collaboratively where you're having a conversation
00:50and you're saying, this is what I need, or this is what I'm exploring, or this is what feels a
00:55little off. What do you need? And how can we figure out how to give that to each other?
