00:00Maz, where do you want to start?
00:02I want to start with, well, I'll tell you what my biggest takeaway of the game was.
00:06I think the single most sustainable and positive development that came out of that game
00:13was the emergence of Stephon Diggs.
00:15To me, that was it.
00:16I thought he was the best player on the field yesterday.
00:20I thought he was the best player by a wide margin.
00:23I think he's the best player on the Patriots offense.
00:26He has a knack for getting open.
00:28He catches everything that's thrown to him.
00:30He can make big plays, small plays, all kinds of plays.
00:35And I looked it up today because they are now 19 of 22 when they throw the ball to Stephon
00:41Diggs this year.
00:42Okay, three misses, 19 of 22.
00:45Among wide receivers in the NFL, in terms of catch percentage, he's number one.
00:52Wow.
00:53Number one in the league.
00:54Now, there were two guys ahead of him that are non-receivers.
00:57One is Jameer Gibbs.
00:58One is Jake Ferguson.
01:00Obviously, a running back and a tight end.
01:02But no receiver in football has caught a higher percentage of his throws or passes targeted
01:08to him with a minimum of 20 targets than Stephon Diggs.
01:12And I tell you, my eyeball test, when I watch it, it looks that way.
01:17He's usually open.
01:19He doesn't need much space.
01:21He holds on to everything.
01:22He knows how to find spots and zones.
01:25He knows how to, you know, run a route and create space for himself.
01:30And if Drake May delivers the ball, he catches it.
01:35Off the top of my head, two of the three misses were bad throws.
01:38One yesterday.
01:40Yesterday, yeah.
01:40And there was one in week one that was a similar kind of play where May threw behind him.
01:45Well, you know, I want to say, I told you so, but I've always told you, I love this guy's game.
01:48I know.
01:49Because it's just, he's like right up my alley as a receiver, which is get open, catch the ball,
01:53go over the middle, move the chains.
01:55I'm more interested in those guys than the take the top off guy.
01:58And Steph Diggs has, you know, he certainly was more explosive in his prime in Minnesota
02:04and into Buffalo, but he's still, he's obviously kept that thing that he can, he gets open in
02:11the middle of the field and catches the ball and takes the punishment and comes back for
02:14more.
02:15I love his play style.
02:16I mean, Mike, that, that little six, eight yard pass in the middle of the field, just
02:21behind the line of scrimmage.
02:22Like they could throw that all day.
02:25He'll be open every time and he'll catch it.
02:27They could get six, eight yards on first or second down every single time if they wanted.
