00:01The race was on.
00:02Here we go, folks.
00:03The open street luge.
00:04Wild downhill skateboarding championship.
00:06Abdelmazzan is dominating at the front.
00:08It's our number five beautiful pass.
00:12Oh, huge crash there.
00:14David Frey.
00:15Thorby Parkson was making contact.
00:17Oh, no!
00:18Panagraph is down.
00:20Side by side.
00:21Three.
00:22Marco Benito from Italy
00:24grabs it on the line.
00:26Unbelievable racing.
00:28Let's go!
00:30In green.
00:33What up?
00:34Jakubic from Canada in blue.
00:36And Kimmeri Hilga from Luxembourg in the yellow bib.
00:40Julie Ertz on the left-hand side of the road.
00:42Still pushing hard.
00:44And she's got a good line here.
00:45But it may be Pasteur from France there.
00:48That can get the inside here.
00:50But Julie Ertz over on the left-hand side of the road.
00:52You can see the road does sweep round.
00:56Very gentle turns.
00:58It's Julie Ertz in top spot at the moment.
01:01We've seen her on WDSC before.
01:04Riders are going from the shadows into the light.
01:08And around the outside.
01:09That is a great pass from Pasteur in red.
01:13To take top spot in this women's luge final.
01:15Running in third at the moment.
01:17It is Jakubic the Canadian.
01:20And now we see Pasteur starting to pull away.
01:23Well, Pasteur from France is in a top spot.
01:27Julie Ertz still in second.
01:29Keeping the pressure on.
01:31There is the opportunity to slipstream.
01:33Get in that draft.
01:34And Ertz is not far behind here.
01:37Working her way down towards the bottom of the course.
01:41And this is where it gets really interesting.
01:45The hairpins all coming at the bottom.
01:47And Ertz is certainly closing the gap.
01:48Is there a chance for a pass?
01:50Got to get the braking absolutely spot on.
01:53And Ertz is closing right up with Pasteur.
01:56Who's in the lead here.
01:57Ertz is going to have the inside line here.
01:59She's going for the pass.
02:00Oh, and just about squeezes through.
02:04And Ertz still has top spot.
02:06What a battle.
02:07Oh, and Pasteur with another pass.
02:09But Ertz is on the inside line.
02:11Contact.
02:12Oh, and everyone's still on those luges.
02:14Ertz has the lead here.
02:15What a race.
02:16Julie Ertz taking it.
02:18However, after deliberations, Julie Ertz was given a penalty
02:22and relegated to fourth position, which meant Laureline Pasteur of France
02:26was declared the winner and took her place on top of the podium.
02:29Becker in green.
02:31Frege in blue.
02:32Parks in yellow.
02:34Under the command of Will Stevenson.
02:37And we get underway.
02:38Madzan and Frege both getting away well.
02:41Becker isn't known for his starts.
02:43But once he gets up to speed, he will look for the gap.
02:47And he's very difficult to pass.
02:48But it's Madzan doing what he did in the early rounds of this race.
02:52Pulling away on the top section.
02:54Parks and Frege in a battle for second.
02:57So, so tight.
02:58We're running close to Ulrich Becker.
03:00He's looking for the gap, isn't he?
03:01Now he's got the speed.
03:02This is what Becker is so good at.
03:04But he needs the space.
03:06And Frege shut the door a little bit.
03:08Becker almost off of the road.
03:10But holds on.
03:11And now Becker loses some of that speed advantage he'd found.
03:14So, Madzan, Parks, Frege.
03:17What a battle for second place here.
03:19Parks trying to go on the inside and make second place all his own.
03:22But the road does switch back again.
03:24There's that style from Madzan lifting the board up.
03:27Frege on the inside.
03:29Who is going to come through the trees in top spot.
03:32The last time we saw anyone in the lead it was Abdel Madzan.
03:36It's David Frege in second.
03:37Ulrich Becker in third.
03:38And Colby Parks is going to have to take some risk.
03:40Parks goes on the inside.
03:41This is a brave move from Colby Parks.
03:43He runs a little wide.
03:44Can Becker take the spot back?
03:46Yes, he can.
03:47It's going to be close on the line.
03:49Madzan takes it.
03:50Frege in second.
03:51And I think Ulrich Becker may be just getting third place.
04:03So, there you have it.
04:04It's Abdul Madzan.
04:05He wins the first round in Austria with David Frege second.
04:09Ulrich Becker in third.
04:10And Colby Parks in fourth.
04:16And there are your winners in Austria.
04:18The first steps on the road to El Salvador have been taken.
04:22See you in Eisenbahn turn big and get the championship points.
04:26For all the action, we join up with a live commentary.
04:29So, here we go.
04:30A run through the line up again.
04:32Tyler in red.
04:33Peters in blue.
04:35Peters in green, I should say.
04:36Weincroft in blue.
04:37Wunscher in yellow.
04:39This for the win.
04:41Here in Axamelism.
04:43Round number one.
04:44Peters and Tyler.
04:47The last two world champions in this sport.
04:50And Peters right on.
04:52Peters had the advantage.
04:53But Tyler was closing in quickly.
04:56So, it is Selena.
04:58Tyler has the advantage into the final turn.
05:01Lisa Peters too far back to make a pass.
05:04She is going to finish in second place.
05:07Coming through for third.
05:10It looks like it's going to be Wunscher.
05:14It is Wunscher who takes third place with Ashley Weincroft in fourth.
