Police arrested 66 people on suspicion of showing support for a proscribed terrorism organisation during a protest outside the Labour party conference on Sunday.

00:01Merseyside Police are running a large-scale security operation for the Labour Party conference
00:06which is taking place here in Liverpool until Wednesday.
00:10More than 20,000 people are expected to attend the event
00:13and the public will notice an increased police and security presence across the city centre.
00:19Officers say this is standard practice for an event of this size.
00:23Chief Inspector Ian Wick says the operation has been months in the planning
00:27drawing on experience from other large-scale events
00:30and involves close working with Liverpool City Council, transport and hospitality providers as well as government partners.
00:37A mix of uniformed and plainclothes officers train to spot suspicious behaviour
00:42while also providing reassurance to the public.
00:44There will also be specialist resources in place including armed officers on patrol
00:49and the marine unit on the river and docks.

01:02Merseyside Police said some of the people in attendance displayed material in support of Palestine action.
01:08The group was banned as a terror organisation in July.
01:12Two people were later de-arrested, the force said.
01:1564 people who were arrested on suspicion of the terrorism offence were aged between 21 and 83.
01:21They were taken into police custody and have now been released on bail.
01:25Police are urging residents, businesses and visitors to remain vigilant, trust their instincts and report anything unusual
01:32while stressing that the visible presence is nothing to be concerned about.
