Leeds Rhinos recruitment and how Brad Arthur's side improves in 2026

Leeds Rhinos' season came to an end on Saturday but how do they improve in 2026? Rhinos reporter Pete Smith gives his take on what fans can expect.

00:16they need to replace Sam Lassone obviously who is who is leaving that whether they'll bring in

00:24in someone to play a similar role I'm not sure because Sam Lassone is sort of quite a unique

00:30type of player because he he comes on for 10-15 minute spells he's not someone you're going to

00:37get a lot of game time out of I think they they may feel that they've got a ready-made replacement

00:45in the the 18-year-old Presley Cassell but I would imagine they'll probably look at maybe bringing

00:51a prop in and obviously again second row where Morgan Gannon who has been quietly excellent I

01:00think this season I think they'll really miss him I think they'll miss him more than Sam Lassone

01:03he's going to New Zealand Warriors so they need to to fill the gap there they do have some good

01:09good prospects in the academy Cassell we've already seen there's a kid called Zach Lloyd

01:15who who um who I like the look of he was very good in the uh the reserves grand final the other week

01:21he's only 18 um but I think they'll probably look to to strengthen there they've all been well they'll

01:30have um Mike Acevo available for next season and that'll give them a little bit more strength in

01:37depth in the um the outside backs and he's going to be like a new signing he he did his ACL in pre-season as

01:45we all remember in in January having leaders had expected him gone all the way through pre-season

01:50literally to to the last couple of weeks with him going to be on on the wing and then he he did his

01:57ACL and hasn't played a game for them but he's somebody that we expected might score 20 or so tries

02:02in a Super League season they've been without him all year so it's I mean they've done pretty well to

02:08to get where where they have he'll come back in um

02:12I don't know if they'll look at any other areas I would think a couple of forwards is probably what

02:21they need um they're not I don't think they're far off but just just a couple of tweaks here and
