Police are investigating an altercation between an e-hailing driver and a bus driver at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex, after the e-hailing driver’s multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) allegedly entered a bus-only lane on Sunday (Sept 28).

00:13A short clip of the incident, which went viral, shows another individual attempting to break up the fight.
00:20Johor Bahru District Police Chief ACP Raup Selamat confirmed that the incident occurred at about 3 p.m. on Sunday.
00:28He said the scuffle started when an e-hailing driver in an MPV allegedly entered the dedicated bus lane at BSI.
00:36A bus driver then stopped his vehicle and got down to confront the MPV driver, which led to the altercation.
00:43Both drivers, aged 28 and 43, sustained minor injuries and lodged police reports.
00:50The case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for Afray,
00:56which carries a penalty of up to six months jail or a fine of up to 1,000 ringgit or both if convicted.
