00:00President Marcos has appointed former Philippine National Police Chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr.
00:09as a Special Advisor and Investigator of the Philippine Independent Commission on Infrastructure, or ICI,
00:17the Malacanang announced earlier today.
00:22In his statement, the Office of the President said Azurin will formally assume his duties
00:27once he concludes personal and administrative arrangements.
00:33Azurin will replace Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong at the ICI following the latter's resignation
00:40amid concerns about a supposed conflict of interest.
00:45President Marcos thanked Mayor Magalong for his service and contributions during his tenure.
00:52The ICI was created to investigate alleged anomalies in public works,
00:59particularly ghost or substandard flood control projects worth billions of pesos.
