00:00Patriots 2-2, heading into Week 5 in Buffalo, Greg, joined by Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal.
00:06What would be the grade you would give to the coaching staff overall throughout the first month of the season?
00:14You know, overall, I mean, it would have been like a C-D-plus after last week.
00:23Now, I think we're probably in the solid C-range at this point with them 2-2.
00:33You know, I think you can, you know, make the case that the Patriots have beat themselves way too often.
00:38Is that the fault of the players? Is it the fault of the coaches?
00:42And obviously, it's everybody, but, you know, I would put some of that, you know, on the coaches.
00:47I think that, you know, even today, because of the opponent that was already weakened coming in,
00:54considering their injury issues, and then they lost three pretty key guys early on in this game.
00:59I mean, you know, the Patriots, I think, if they played a better opponent like a Steelers,
01:04they would have been in a tougher tussle because, you know, they give up the opening touchdown.
01:08The Panthers drove six times in the Patriots' territory in this game,
01:12and they're just limited with one wide receiver in terms of what they can do.
01:17Like, this is sort of like watching, you know, the Patriots' offense, you know, at certain points,
01:23especially, you know, once Josh McDaniels left.
01:26When you're limited in terms of talent, it's really hard to go 80 yards.
01:32And this Panthers team was about 60 yards good, and then they, you know, ran out of steam
01:39and the ability to make plays, and there's only so much you can do, you know,
01:43when you don't have even, like, you know, average talent.
01:45The Patriots also had, you know, six penalties in the first half, five of which, you know, were accepted.
01:51So, you know, it's not totally cleaned up in that regards,
01:56but, you know, it seems like they're making incremental progress and getting better.
