North Carolina Shooting: 3 Dead 5 Injured in Southport Waterfront Attack | Nigel Edge Arrested
A tragic mass shooting shook Southport, North Carolina, on Saturday night when a gunman opened fire from a boat into the American Fish Company, a popular waterfront bar and restaurant.
The attack left 3 people dead and at least 5 others injured, sending shockwaves through the small coastal town. Authorities quickly identified the suspect as 40-year-old Nigel Max Edge, who was detained by the U.S. Coast Guard on Oak Island just minutes after the incident.
Edge now faces three counts of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted first-degree murder, confirmed by Southport’s public information officer ChyAnn Ketchum.
Police say the investigation is ongoing as the community mourns the victims and prays for the injured.
