Oregon Ducks Coach Dan Lanning discusses the Ducks making plays in their win against Penn state

00:00Well, that was, I think that's the best game I've ever been a part of.

00:10And regardless of who won that game, just unbelievable back and forth.

00:15I mean, Penn State is a damn good football team.

00:18They figured out some stuff there against us at the end.

00:20I mean, every series mattered.

00:21I think we scored two touchdowns in the second half.

00:24They scored three.

00:26Just unbelievable back and forth.

00:28And I guess we had four touchdowns in the second half.

00:30You start counting overtime, right?

00:32Overtime was a different animal.

00:34But these guys, they fought.

00:38And we just talked all week, it's about getting a cut, right?

00:41And it's death by a thousand cuts.

00:42We just had to get another cut.

00:43And eventually that cut was going to be a jugular.

00:45And that last interception was a jugular.

00:47It was as proud as I've been of our team playing well on both sides of the ball.

00:52The score maybe didn't indicate that in the first half with our offense.

00:54But defense played really well in the first.

00:58You know, second half offense really picked it up.

01:00Defense had some good back and forth.

01:02And just an unbelievable effort by our players.

01:05Unbelievable effort by our coaches.

01:07I thought our coaches had a great game plan going into this game against a really tough team.

01:12I thought our players handled the crowd.

01:14And the crowd didn't make a single play, right?

01:16Our players made plays today.

01:18And that showed up in this game.

01:21Dan, on postgame radio, you said you ran something defensively on the interception there at the end.

01:25You had an all-game when you walked through.

01:27Yeah, we're just really struggling with the speed motion sweep series.

01:30And we felt like they were going to run what we call score route off of that.

01:33So we wanted to have a good answer for the speed sweep and a good answer for the score route if we got it.

01:39They ended up throwing the score route, and we intercepted it.

01:41So, like I said, unbelievable job by our defensive coaches game planning that.

01:46I mean, they came out in 12 personnel, and we went nickel, which we hadn't really done all game.

01:50And our guys executed really, really well.
