first look at a club car carryall golf cart i bought, will it run????
Transcript
00:00Well, look what I just picked up.
00:04Another club car, golf cart. I believe this is
00:08considered a carryall because it has the big bed.
00:12Anyway,
00:16the motor does run, but it's going to need work.
00:20Very bad paint job.
00:24Oh well. It's got the controls on the side
00:28which is kind of weird. Usually they're
00:32there in the middle.
00:36And as you can see the
00:40tailgate is really messed up.
00:44I'll have to unbolt that to get it fixed that stuff.
00:48But for the engine
00:52it's got to stay up there.
00:56It's the Kawasaki club car.
01:00It's missing the air filter housing
01:04which is supposed to come over here
01:06to that thing.
01:08And there's obviously no battery because
01:10the guy kept that but
01:12he was able to crank it up and
01:14I heard it run.
01:16I don't know if you can see but
01:18down there on the clutch
01:20pulley.
01:22It's broke so I'm going to have to get
01:24a new clutch for it.
01:26I do have the secondary pulley.
01:28It's in the shop.
01:30He removed that when he took the belt off.
01:32And all the throttle linkage.
01:34That's not hooked up right.
01:36I'll have to redo that.
01:38It has a fuel gauge.
01:40Which is not hooked up to the gas thing.
01:42But it does have a sending unit in it.
01:44Anyway.
01:46This will be a quick first look at a project that I'm going to be working on.
02:10It has a hitch.
02:14Muffler and all that stuff.
02:18It's an aluminum bed.
02:20It's not going to rot.
02:22This is aluminum.
02:24But it's all bent up.
02:26Aluminum frame.
02:28The body up front is fiberglass.
02:32Which is what all the club cars are.
02:36But anyway.
02:38There's a quick look.
02:42At what I'm about to tear into.
02:46I got the clutch pulled off.
02:50And here's a better look at it.
02:52It's missing a big chunk.
02:56Off of the pulley.
02:58And also.
03:00That bearing is pretty well shot.
03:04So there's a good look.
03:06So this is.
03:08Pretty much the jump.
03:12Here's the pulley for the.
03:14Starter generator thingy.
03:18Here's the secondary pulley.
03:20It's still in good shape.
03:22So I can reuse that.
03:24But I definitely need to get a.
03:26Get a new clutch for it.
03:30But that's okay.
03:32I'll find one.
03:34Well as you can see.
03:36I just went ahead and removed the bed.
03:40It's going to be a lot easier to work on it.
03:46Without that in the way.
03:48Got all kinds of room to get around the engine.
03:52And the clutch.
03:54And everything else.
03:56It just had.
03:58A couple brackets.
04:00That were bolted here.
04:02And here on the bed.
04:04Is what.
04:06Where it swiveled.
04:08So it was.
04:10Pretty easy.
04:12It's aluminum.
04:14But anyway.
04:16I got that much done.
04:18And now we can tear into the engine.
04:22And I took the.
04:24Back plate off of the.
04:26Or the tailgate.
04:28I guess you should say.
04:32Got it straightened out.
04:34I'm just going to.
04:36Reattach it back onto there.
04:38And.
04:42That should be good to go.
04:50Well it's a good thing.
04:52I'm checking this out pretty good.
04:54Watch that.
05:02Both of them.
05:08All four of those.
05:10Mounting bolts are loose.
05:11I'm going to have to tighten them.
05:12Babies up.
05:13Before I.
05:16Try driving it.
05:20Oh look.
05:21More.
05:22Hacked up.
05:23Bodgery.
05:25This.
05:26Is.
05:27A brake cable.
05:28Off of a bicycle.
05:30They've got zip ties.
05:33There's the.
05:34The correct end.
05:35Which is broke off.
05:36Right there's the.
05:40This is one of them.
05:41Plastic.
05:43Adjusters.
05:46And that's just.
05:47Wrapped around.
05:48Down there.
05:51Good grief.
05:54Well let's get that.
05:55Fixed correctly.
05:59Got the U-bolts.
06:00You're.
06:01Got the U-bolts.
06:02Tightened up.
06:03They're not wiggling.
06:04Around much anymore.
06:06Made a gasket.
06:07For the.
06:08Exhaust.
06:09Because.
06:10That was blown out.
06:11So that should be.
06:12A little bit quieter.
06:15Oh.
06:16What else did I do.
06:17Oh.
06:19I made a.
06:20Bracket there.
06:21For the.
06:24Throttle.
06:25Rod.
06:26When you'd step on the.
06:27Great.
06:28That was bending.
06:29And it wasn't letting the.
06:30Throttle plate on the carburetor.
06:31Move very good.
06:32So now.
06:33That's just a piece of.
06:34Angle iron with.
06:35I took a piece of wood.
06:36Two pieces of wood.
06:37I drilled a hole right through the center.
06:38That was just a little bit bigger than the.
06:39Rod.
06:40Pulled it on there.
06:41Put some grease on.
06:42And now the rod.
06:43Stays straight.
06:44And the throttle linkage.
06:45Works nice and smooth.
06:46I got another.
06:47Correct.
06:48Cable.
06:49Not.
06:50A brake cable.
06:51From a.
06:52Bracket.
06:53Now.
06:54Now.
06:55That's.
06:56How.
06:57The.
06:58Now.

07:16The.
07:17bicycle that is working that's on there put a fuel filter on there so I'm still
07:34waiting on getting a new clutch and then I can put that on which the old one I
07:46think I've shown you the old one here has got a big chunk missing out of it so
07:56that's no good here's the secondary pulley it's still good it's gonna go back on yeah
08:06here's the the bicycle brake cable that they was using as a throttle linkage
