00:00We'll turn our attention to Boston College and Chestnut Hill.
00:03Boston College lost two straight.
00:05They're coming out of a bye week.
00:06They're six and a half point home favorites over Cal.
00:10Cal started 3-0, Coach.
00:11They go on the road last week as a 14 and a half point road favorite to San Diego State.
00:16And they lose the game outright 34 to nothing.
00:19They're back on the road in Boston this coming weekend.
00:23I like Boston College, but I think Cal could cover this number.
00:27Well, I think they could.
00:29I just think you don't know.
00:30You've got a true freshman quarterback.
00:32Let me see if I can say it.
00:34Sagapulateli.
00:36I'm not even going to throw the first name with that one because it gets even harder.
00:40But they've got a true freshman quarterback traveling all across the country.
00:45And I think B.C. had a week off.
00:47I like their quarterback.
00:48He's a transfer from Alabama.
00:50A little more experienced, a little more of a veteran in a game like this where both teams.
00:55And then I was really kind of got a good feeling about Cal for three weeks.
00:59They're out there, I think, scoring 33 points a game and doing a great job.
01:04All of a sudden, they get blown out by San Diego State last week, 34 to nothing.
01:09And I said, oh, my goodness.
01:10It's back to peg one on that.
01:13But I do like the fact that you've got a little more veteran quarterback at Boston College.
01:17They've had a week off, and I think they'll be home, and they'll get back in the groove in this ballgame.
01:25Yeah, when you look at this game overall, and we had talked about it earlier last week,
01:29is that Justin Wilcox, prior to that game against San Diego State, was just 6-13 the previous three years on the road or on a neutral field.
01:39They go on the road to San Diego State.
01:41They stay within the state, and they have a blue-collar group in the Aztecs that just beat them up on both sides of the football.
01:48What have they learned from that loss last week?
01:51They came out flat.
01:52They got punched in the face, and now they go cross-country for an early kick here in Chestnut Hill.
01:58I'm inclined to take the 6-1 just because they got shut out.
02:02I understand that Boston College and their quarterback, Lonergren, very disappointing in their last loss to Stanford.
02:09They were double-digit favorites.
02:10They lose that game outright 30-20 in Palo Alto.
02:14They're coming out of a bye week.
02:15Maybe they come out a little bit flat.
02:17But for the coaching perspective, knowing that you haven't stepped up over the previous three seasons
02:23and knowing that Justin Wilcox potentially is on the hot seat for the most part,
02:28from a motivation standpoint, what could he tell Cal or get the players ready that they weren't ready last week?
02:35Well, and again, a lot of that goes you don't know quite why they weren't ready
02:39because they had so much to gain this season, and they just went backwards so far.
02:44If I'm the head coach, I probably don't even show them that.
02:47Maybe Sunday they get to see that video once and then get rid of it, don't show it again,
02:53get them back in a positive mode that they were becoming in those first three games
02:57because whatever happened, if they correct their mistakes and play like they did in those first three games,
03:03this is a game that they can come across the country and win a football game.
03:09And so he's got to just get them to forget about that one.
03:11And maybe deep down inside, he's hoping that that one did not represent the direction they were going.
03:17But you definitely want you to get that out of your kid's mind if possible.
03:21Hey, we are pretty good.
03:22We were 3-0.
03:23Let's get back and focus on what we were doing right and start again with Boston College.
