00:00Well of course as a Labour Chancellor I'm determined to lift children out of poverty
00:05and we've made the commitment that in our time in office there will be fewer children in poverty at the end of this parliament
00:11than there were at the beginning and we've already made a start on that
00:14extending free school meals to an additional 500,000 children lifting 100,000 out of poverty
00:21free breakfast clubs at primary schools, greater childcare support
00:26which many of the parents I've met this morning are benefiting from capping the costs of school uniform
00:31increasing the national minimum wage and national living wage
00:34the Child Poverty Task Force is doing its work at the moment
00:39that will report shortly and of course I'll respond in the budget
00:42but am I determined to lift children out of poverty?
00:45Absolutely, that is what Labour governments, that's what Labour chancellors do
00:48and that's what this government will do as well
